सापह्नवं पाण्डवेषु पाण्डवानां सुसंमतम्। सारासारबलं ज्ञात्वा तत्समासेन मे शृणु ॥५-६६-३॥
sāpahṇavaṃ pāṇḍaveṣu pāṇḍavānāṃ susaṃmatam। sārāsārabalaṃ jñātvā tatsamāsena me śṛṇu ॥5-66-3॥

नरकं शम्बरं चैव कंसं चैद्यं च माधवः। जितवान्घोरसङ्काशान्क्रीडन्निव जनार्दनः ॥५-६६-४॥
narakaṁ śambaraṁ caiva kaṁsaṁ caidyaṁ ca mādhavaḥ। jitavānghorasaṅkāśānkṛīḍanniva janārdanaḥ ॥5-66-4॥

Mādhava, also known as Janārdana, effortlessly defeated the formidable foes Naraka, Śambara, Kaṁsa, and Caidya, as if it were a mere game.
पृथिवीं चान्तरिक्षं च द्यां चैव पुरुषोत्तमः। मनसैव विशिष्टात्मा नयत्यात्मवशं वशी ॥५-६६-५॥
pṛthivīṃ cāntarikṣaṃ ca dyāṃ caiva puruṣottamaḥ। manasaiva viśiṣṭātmā nayatyātmavaśaṃ vaśī ॥5-66-5॥
[पृथिवीं (pṛthivīṃ) - earth; च (ca) - and; अन्तरिक्षं (antarikṣaṃ) - sky; च (ca) - and; द्यां (dyāṃ) - heaven; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; पुरुषोत्तमः (puruṣottamaḥ) - the Supreme Person; मनसैव (manasaiva) - by mind alone; विशिष्टात्मा (viśiṣṭātmā) - the distinguished soul; नयति (nayati) - leads; आत्मवशं (ātmavaśaṃ) - under control; वशी (vaśī) - the controller;]

भूयो भूयो हि यद्राजन्पृच्छसे पाण्डवान्प्रति। सारासारबलं ज्ञातुं तन्मे निगदतः शृणु ॥५-६६-६॥

(Again and again, O king, you ask about the Pāṇḍavas, to know the strength and weakness; hear that from my speech.)
O king, as you repeatedly inquire about the strengths and weaknesses of the Pāṇḍavas, listen to my words to understand them.
एकतो वा जगत्कृत्स्नमेकतो वा जनार्दनः। सारतो जगतः कृत्स्नादतिरिक्तो जनार्दनः ॥५-६६-७॥
ekato vā jagatkṛtsnamekato vā janārdanaḥ। sārato jagataḥ kṛtsnādatiṛkto janārdanaḥ ॥5-66-7॥
[एकतः (ekataḥ) - on one side; वा (vā) - or; जगत् (jagat) - world; कृत्स्नम् (kṛtsnam) - entire; एकतः (ekataḥ) - on one side; वा (vā) - or; जनार्दनः (janārdanaḥ) - Janardana; सारतः (sārataḥ) - essentially; जगतः (jagataḥ) - of the world; कृत्स्नात् (kṛtsnāt) - from the entire; अतिरिक्तः (atiṛktaḥ) - beyond; जनार्दनः (janārdanaḥ) - Janardana;]
(On one side is the entire world, or on one side is Janardana. Essentially, Janardana is beyond the entire world.)
On one side stands the entire universe, and on the other, Janardana. In essence, Janardana transcends the entire universe.
भस्म कुर्याज्जगदिदं मनसैव जनार्दनः। न तु कृत्स्नं जगच्छक्तं भस्म कर्तुं जनार्दनम् ॥५-६६-८॥
bhasma kuryāj jagad idaṃ manasaiva janārdanaḥ। na tu kṛtsnaṃ jagac chaktaṃ bhasma kartuṃ janārdanam ॥5-66-8॥
[भस्म (bhasma) - ashes; कुर्यात् (kuryāt) - could make; जगत् (jagat) - world; इदं (idaṃ) - this; मनसा (manasā) - by mind; एव (eva) - only; जनार्दनः (janārdanaḥ) - Janardana; न (na) - not; तु (tu) - but; कृत्स्नं (kṛtsnaṃ) - entire; जगत् (jagat) - world; शक्तं (śaktaṃ) - capable; भस्म (bhasma) - ashes; कर्तुं (kartuṃ) - to make; जनार्दनम् (janārdanam) - Janardana;]
(Janardana could turn this world into ashes by mind only; but the entire world is not capable of turning Janardana into ashes.)
Janardana can effortlessly turn the world into ashes with just his mind, but the entire world together cannot turn Janardana into ashes.
यतः सत्यं यतो धर्मो यतो ह्रीरार्जवं यतः। ततो भवति गोविन्दो यतः कृष्णस्ततो जयः ॥५-६६-९॥
yataḥ satyaṃ yato dharmo yato hrīrārjavaṃ yataḥ। tato bhavati govindo yataḥ kṛṣṇastato jayaḥ ॥5-66-9॥
[यतः (yataḥ) - from where; सत्यं (satyaṃ) - truth; यतः (yataḥ) - from where; धर्मो (dharmo) - righteousness; यतः (yataḥ) - from where; ह्रीः (hrīḥ) - modesty; आर्जवं (ārjavaṃ) - straightforwardness; यतः (yataḥ) - from where; ततः (tataḥ) - then; भवति (bhavati) - becomes; गोविन्दः (govindaḥ) - Govinda; यतः (yataḥ) - from where; कृष्णः (kṛṣṇaḥ) - Krishna; ततः (tataḥ) - then; जयः (jayaḥ) - victory;]
(From where there is truth, from where there is righteousness, from where there is modesty and straightforwardness, then there is Govinda; from where there is Krishna, then there is victory.)
Wherever there is truth, righteousness, modesty, and straightforwardness, there is Govinda; wherever there is Krishna, there is victory.
पृथिवीं चान्तरिक्षं च दिवं च पुरुषोत्तमः। विचेष्टयति भूतात्मा क्रीडन्निव जनार्दनः ॥५-६६-१०॥
pṛthivīṃ cāntarikṣaṃ ca divaṃ ca puruṣottamaḥ। viceṣṭayati bhūtātmā krīḍanniva janārdanaḥ ॥5-66-10॥

स कृत्वा पाण्डवान्सत्रं लोकं संमोहयन्निव। अधर्मनिरतान्मूढान्दग्धुमिच्छति ते सुतान् ॥५-६६-११॥
sa kṛtvā pāṇḍavānsatraṃ lokaṃ saṃmohayanniva। adharmaniratānmūḍhāndagdhumicchati te sutān ॥5-66-11॥
[स (sa) - he; कृत्वा (kṛtvā) - having done; पाण्डवान् (pāṇḍavān) - the Pandavas; सत्रं (satraṃ) - sacrifice; लोकं (lokaṃ) - world; संमोहयन् (saṃmohayan) - deluding; इव (iva) - as if; अधर्मनिरतान् (adharmaniratān) - engaged in unrighteousness; मूढान् (mūḍhān) - fools; दग्धुम् (dagdhum) - to burn; इच्छति (icchati) - desires; ते (te) - your; सुतान् (sutān) - sons;]
(He, having performed the sacrifice for the Pandavas, seems to delude the world; he desires to burn your sons, who are engaged in unrighteousness and are fools.)

कालचक्रं जगच्चक्रं युगचक्रं च केशवः। आत्मयोगेन भगवान्परिवर्तयतेऽनिशम् ॥५-६६-१२॥
kālacakraṁ jagaccakraṁ yugacakraṁ ca keśavaḥ। ātmayogena bhagavānparivartayate'niśam ॥5-66-12॥

कालस्य च हि मृत्योश्च जङ्गमस्थावरस्य च। ईशते भगवानेकः सत्यमेतद्ब्रवीमि ते ॥५-६६-१३॥
kālasya ca hi mṛtyośca jaṅgamasthāvarasya ca। īśate bhagavānekaḥ satyametadbravīmi te ॥5-66-13॥
[कालस्य (kālasya) - of time; च (ca) - and; हि (hi) - indeed; मृत्योः (mṛtyoḥ) - of death; च (ca) - and; जङ्गमस्थावरस्य (jaṅgamasthāvarasya) - of the moving and the non-moving; च (ca) - and; ईशते (īśate) - rules; भगवान् (bhagavān) - the Lord; एकः (ekaḥ) - one; सत्यम् (satyam) - truth; एतत् (etat) - this; ब्रवीमि (bravīmi) - I speak; ते (te) - to you;]
(Of time and indeed of death, and of the moving and the non-moving, the one Lord rules. This truth I speak to you.)
The one Lord indeed rules over time, death, and all that is moving and non-moving. This is the truth I tell you.
ईशन्नपि महायोगी सर्वस्य जगतो हरिः। कर्माण्यारभते कर्तुं कीनाश इव दुर्बलः ॥५-६६-१४॥
īśannapi mahāyogī sarvasya jagato hariḥ। karmāṇyārabhate kartuṃ kīnāśa iva durbalaḥ ॥5-66-14॥
[ईशन् (īśan) - controlling; अपि (api) - even; महायोगी (mahāyogī) - great yogi; सर्वस्य (sarvasya) - of all; जगतः (jagataḥ) - of the world; हरिः (hariḥ) - Hari; कर्माणि (karmāṇi) - actions; आरभते (ārabhate) - begins; कर्तुं (kartuṃ) - to perform; कीनाशः (kīnāśaḥ) - a farmer; इव (iva) - like; दुर्बलः (durbalaḥ) - weak;]
(Even though controlling, the great yogi Hari of all the world begins actions to perform like a weak farmer.)
Despite being the supreme controller and a great yogi, Hari, the lord of the universe, undertakes actions like a weak farmer.
तेन वञ्चयते लोकान्मायायोगेन केशवः। ये तमेव प्रपद्यन्ते न ते मुह्यन्ति मानवाः ॥५-६६-१५॥
tena vañcayate lokānmāyāyogena keśavaḥ। ye tameva prapadyante na te muhyanti mānavāḥ ॥5-66-15॥
[तेन (tena) - by him; वञ्चयते (vañcayate) - deceives; लोकान् (lokān) - the people; मायायोगेन (māyāyogena) - by the power of illusion; केशवः (keśavaḥ) - Keśava; ये (ye) - those who; तम् (tam) - him; एव (eva) - only; प्रपद्यन्ते (prapadyante) - surrender; न (na) - not; ते (te) - they; मुह्यन्ति (muhyanti) - are deluded; मानवाः (mānavāḥ) - humans;]
(By him, Keśava deceives the people by the power of illusion. Those who surrender to him alone are not deluded, humans.)
