Pancharatra-Ext: Battle continues for a second day, with no winners.

आत्मनस्तु ततः सूतो हयानां च विशां पते। मम चापनयामास शल्यान्कुशलसंमतः ॥५-१८१-१॥
ātmanastu tataḥ sūto hayānāṃ ca viśāṃ pate। mama cāpanayāmāsa śalyānkuśalasaṃmataḥ ॥5-181-1॥
[आत्मनः (ātmanaḥ) - of the self; तु (tu) - but; ततः (tataḥ) - then; सूतः (sūtaḥ) - the charioteer; हयानाम् (hayānām) - of the horses; च (ca) - and; विशाम् (viśām) - of the people; पते (pate) - O lord; मम (mama) - my; च (ca) - and; अपनयामास (apanayāmāsa) - removed; शल्यान् (śalyān) - the impediments; कुशलसंमतः (kuśalasaṃmataḥ) - approved by the wise;]
(But then, O lord of the people, the charioteer, approved by the wise, removed the impediments of the horses and mine.)
Then, O lord of the people, the wise-approved charioteer removed the obstacles from the horses and myself.
स्नातोपवृत्तैस्तुरगैर्लब्धतोयैरविह्वलैः। प्रभात उदिते सूर्ये ततो युद्धमवर्तत ॥५-१८१-२॥
snātopavṛttais turagair labdhato yair avihvalaiḥ। prabhāta udite sūrye tato yuddham avartata ॥5-181-2॥

(The battle commenced then, with the horses bathed and returned, having obtained water, unperturbed, as the sun rose in the morning.)
As the sun rose in the morning, the battle began with the horses, who were bathed, refreshed, and unperturbed after having quenched their thirst.
दृष्ट्वा मां तूर्णमायान्तं दंशितं स्यन्दने स्थितम्। अकरोद्रथमत्यर्थं रामः सज्जं प्रतापवान् ॥५-१८१-३॥
dṛṣṭvā māṃ tūrṇam āyāntaṃ daṃśitaṃ syandane sthitam। akarod ratham atyarthaṃ rāmaḥ sajjaṃ pratāpavān ॥

(Having seen me coming quickly, bitten, standing in the chariot, Rama made the chariot very much ready, glorious.)
Seeing me coming quickly and standing in the chariot, Rama, the glorious one, prepared the chariot with great readiness.
ततोऽहं राममायान्तं दृष्ट्वा समरकाङ्क्षिणम्। धनुःश्रेष्ठं समुत्सृज्य सहसावतरं रथात् ॥५-१८१-४॥
tato'haṃ rāmam āyāntaṃ dṛṣṭvā samarakāṅkṣiṇam। dhanuḥśreṣṭhaṃ samutsṛjya sahasāvataraṃ rathāt ॥5-181-4॥

(Then I, having seen Rama coming, eager for battle, suddenly abandoned the best of bows and descended from the chariot.)
Then, seeing Rama approaching with eagerness for battle, I suddenly abandoned my best bow and descended from the chariot.
अभिवाद्य तथैवाहं रथमारुह्य भारत। युयुत्सुर्जामदग्न्यस्य प्रमुखे वीतभीः स्थितः ॥५-१८१-५॥
abhivādya tathaivāhaṃ rathamāruhya bhārata। yuyutsurjāmadagnyasya pramukhe vītabhīḥ sthitaḥ ॥5-181-5॥

(Having saluted, in the same way, I ascended the chariot, O Bharata, desiring to fight, stood fearless in front of Jamadagni's descendant.)
After offering salutations, I too ascended the chariot, O Bharata, and stood fearlessly in front of Jamadagni's descendant, ready to fight.
ततो मां शरवर्षेण महता समवाकिरत्। अहं च शरवर्षेण वर्षन्तं समवाकिरम् ॥५-१८१-६॥
tato māṁ śaravarṣeṇa mahatā samavākirat। ahaṁ ca śaravarṣeṇa varṣantaṁ samavākiram ॥5-181-6॥

सङ्क्रुद्धो जामदग्न्यस्तु पुनरेव पतत्रिणः। प्रेषयामास मे राजन्दीप्तास्यानुरगानिव ॥५-१८१-७॥
saṅkruddho jāmadagnyastu punareva patatriṇaḥ। preṣayāmāsa me rājandīptāsyānuragāniva ॥5-181-7॥

(Angry Jamadagni's son, however, again indeed sent the bird, O king, with a blazing face, like love.)

तानहं निशितैर्भल्लैः शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः। अच्छिदं सहसा राजन्नन्तरिक्षे पुनः पुनः ॥५-१८१-८॥
tān ahaṃ niśitair bhallaiḥ śataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ। acchidaṃ sahasā rājann antarikṣe punaḥ punaḥ ॥5-181-8॥

(Them I cut quickly with sharp arrows by hundreds and then by thousands, O king, in the sky again and again.)

ततस्त्वस्त्राणि दिव्यानि जामदग्न्यः प्रतापवान्। मयि प्रचोदयामास तान्यहं प्रत्यषेधयम् ॥५-१८१-९॥
tatastvastrāṇi divyāni jāmadagnyaḥ pratāpavān। mayi pracodayāmāsa tānyahaṃ pratyaṣedhayam ॥5-181-9॥

(Thus, I warded off the divine weapons of Rāma. And Rāma, my brilliant, divine weapon-knower, subduer of enemies.)

(Then, O king, Rama, the best of the twice-born, very angry, pierced me in the chest from the left, the mighty son of Jamadagni.)

(Then, having regained consciousness, I said to the charioteer, "Go, charioteer, to where Rama is; I am ready and free from pain.")

(Then the charioteer carried me with horses that were extremely splendid, like dancing, O descendant of Kuru, with the speed of the wind.)

(Then, hundreds of thousands, ten millions, and hundred millions, then ten thousands, trillions, and quadrillions, O Kaurava, Rama, angry, quickly discharged arrows at me.)
