svasainyaṁ nihataṁ dṛṣṭvā rājā duryodhanaḥ svayam । abhyadhāvata saṅkruddho bhīmasenamariṁdamam ॥6-90-1॥

Upon witnessing the destruction of his army, King Duryodhana, filled with rage, personally charged at Bhimasena, the mighty warrior known for vanquishing enemies.
प्रगृह्य सुमहच्चापमिन्द्राशनिसमस्वनम् । महता शरवर्षेण पाण्डवं समवाकिरत् ॥६-९०-२॥
pragṛhya sumahaccāpamindrāśanisamasvanam । mahatā śaravarṣeṇa pāṇḍavaṃ samavākirat ॥6-90-2॥

(Having taken a very great bow, equal in sound to Indra's thunderbolt, he covered the Pāṇḍava with a great shower of arrows.)
He took up a mighty bow that roared like Indra's thunderbolt and showered the Pāṇḍava with a torrent of arrows.
अर्धचन्द्रं च सन्धाय सुतीक्ष्णं लोमवाहिनम् । भीमसेनस्य चिच्छेद चापं क्रोधसमन्वितः ॥६-९०-३॥
ardhacandraṃ ca sandhāya sutīkṣṇaṃ lomavāhinam । bhīmasenasya ciccheda cāpaṃ krodhasamanvitaḥ ॥6-90-3॥

तदन्तरं च सम्प्रेक्ष्य त्वरमाणो महारथः । संदधे निशितं बाणं गिरीणामपि दारणम् ॥ तेनोरसि महाबाहुर्भीमसेनमताडयत् ॥६-९०-४॥
tadantaraṃ ca samprekṣya tvaramāṇo mahārathaḥ । saṃdadhe niśitaṃ bāṇaṃ girīṇāmapi dāraṇam ॥ tenorasi mahābāhurbhīmasenamatāḍayat ॥6-90-4॥

(Then, having seen and hastening, the great chariot-warrior fixed a sharp arrow, capable of piercing even mountains. With it, the mighty-armed struck Bhimasena on the chest.)
Then, observing the situation and acting swiftly, the great warrior prepared a sharp arrow that could pierce mountains and struck Bhimasena on the chest with great force.
स गाढविद्धो व्यथितः सृक्किणी परिसंलिहन् । समाललम्बे तेजस्वी ध्वजं हेमपरिष्कृतम् ॥६-९०-५॥
sa gāḍhaviddho vyathitaḥ sṛkkiṇī parisaṁlihan । samālalambe tejasvī dhvajaṁ hemapariṣkṛtam ॥6-90-5॥

(He, deeply pierced and afflicted, licking his flank, leaned against the flag adorned with gold, the glorious one.)
Deeply wounded and in pain, he licked his flank and leaned against the golden-adorned flag, displaying his valor.
तथा विमनसं दृष्ट्वा भीमसेनं घटोत्कचः । क्रोधेनाभिप्रजज्वाल दिधक्षन्निव पावकः ॥६-९०-६॥
tathā vimanasaṃ dṛṣṭvā bhīmasenaṃ ghaṭotkacaḥ । krodhenābhiprajajvāla didhakṣanniva pāvakaḥ ॥6-90-6॥

अभिमन्युमुखाश्चैव पाण्डवानां महारथाः । समभ्यधावन्क्रोशन्तो राजानं जातसम्भ्रमाः ॥६-९०-७॥
abhimanyumukhāścaiva pāṇḍavānāṃ mahārathāḥ । samabhyadhāvaṅkrośanto rājānaṃ jātasambhramāḥ ॥6-90-7॥

क्षिप्रं गच्छत भद्रं वो राजानं परिरक्षत । संशयं परमं प्राप्तं मज्जन्तं व्यसनार्णवे ॥६-९०-९॥
kṣipraṃ gacchata bhadraṃ vo rājānaṃ parirakṣata । saṃśayaṃ paramaṃ prāptaṃ majjantaṃ vyasanārṇave ॥6-90-9॥

तदाचार्यवचः श्रुत्वा सोमदत्तपुरोगमाः । तावकाः समवर्तन्त पाण्डवानामनीकिनीम् ॥६-९०-१२॥
tadācāryavacaḥ śrutvā somadattapurogamāḥ । tāvakāḥ samavartanta pāṇḍavānāmanīkinīm ॥6-90-12॥

कृपो भूरिश्रवाः शल्यो द्रोणपुत्रो विविंशतिः । चित्रसेनो विकर्णश्च सैन्धवोऽथ बृहद्बलः ॥ आवन्त्यौ च महेष्वासौ कौरवं पर्यवारयन् ॥६-९०-१३॥
kṛpo bhūriśravāḥ śalyo droṇaputro viviṁśatiḥ । citraseno vikarṇaśca saindhavo'tha bṛhadbalaḥ ॥ āvantyau ca maheṣvāsau kauravaṁ paryavārayan ॥6-90-13॥

एवमुक्त्वा महाबाहुर्महद्विस्फार्य कार्मुकम् । भारद्वाजस्ततो भीमं षड्विंशत्या समार्पयत् ॥६-९०-१५॥
evamuktvā mahābāhur mahadvisphārya kārmukam । bhāradvājas tato bhīmaṃ ṣaḍviṃśatyā samārpayat ॥6-90-15॥

भूयश्चैनं महाबाहुः शरैः शीघ्रमवाकिरत् । पर्वतं वारिधाराभिः शरदीव बलाहकः ॥६-९०-१६॥
bhūyaś cainaṃ mahābāhuḥ śaraiḥ śīghram avākirat । parvataṃ vāridhārābhiḥ śaradīva balāhakaḥ ॥6-90-16॥

The mighty-armed warrior once more swiftly showered arrows upon him, resembling a cloud enveloping a mountain with rain during the autumn season.
तं प्रत्यविध्यद्दशभिर्भीमसेनः शिलीमुखैः । त्वरमाणो महेष्वासः सव्ये पार्श्वे महाबलः ॥६-९०-१७॥
taṃ pratyavidhyaddaśabhirbhīmasenaḥ śilīmukhaiḥ । tvaramāṇo maheṣvāsaḥ savye pārśve mahābalaḥ ॥6-90-17॥

गुरुं प्रव्यथितं दृष्ट्वा राजा दुर्योधनः स्वयम् । द्रौणायनिश्च सङ्क्रुद्धौ भीमसेनमभिद्रुतौ ॥६-९०-१९॥

तावापतन्तौ सम्प्रेक्ष्य कालान्तकयमोपमौ । भीमसेनो महाबाहुर्गदामादाय सत्वरः ॥६-९०-२०॥
tāvāpatantau samprekṣya kālāntakayamopamau । bhīmaseno mahābāhurgadāmādāya satvaraḥ ॥6-90-20॥

Upon seeing those two warriors approaching like the god of death at the end of time, the mighty-armed Bhimasena swiftly grabbed his mace, ready for battle.
अवप्लुत्य रथात्तूर्णं तस्थौ गिरिरिवाचलः । समुद्यम्य गदां गुर्वीं यमदण्डोपमां रणे ॥६-९०-२१॥
avaplutya rathāttūrṇaṃ tasthau giririvācalaḥ । samudyamya gadāṃ gurvīṃ yamadaṇḍopamāṃ raṇe ॥6-90-21॥

(Having leaped down from the chariot quickly, he stood like an immovable mountain, having raised a heavy mace like Yama's staff in battle.)

(Thus, all your strength was scattered and fled in all directions by the evil-minded Hidimba at sunset time.)
At sunset, the evil-minded Hidimba scattered all your forces, causing them to flee in all directions.
