तथा सम्भाषतां तेषां प्रादुरासीद्धनञ्जयः। दिदृक्षुर्भरतश्रेष्ठं राजानं ससुहृद्गणम् ॥७-६०-१॥
tathā sambhāṣatāṃ teṣāṃ prādurāsīddhanañjayaḥ। didṛkṣurbharataśreṣṭhaṃ rājānaṃ sasuhṛdgaṇam ॥7-60-1॥

(Thus, while they were conversing, Dhananjaya appeared, desiring to see the best of the Bharatas, the king with his friends.)
As they were engaged in conversation, Dhananjaya appeared, eager to meet the esteemed Bharata king along with his companions.
तं प्रविष्टं शुभां कक्ष्यामभिवाद्याग्रतः स्थितम्। समुत्थायार्जुनं प्रेम्णा सस्वजे पाण्डवर्षभः ॥७-६०-२॥
taṃ praviṣṭaṃ śubhāṃ kakṣyām abhivādyāgrataḥ sthitam। samutthāyārjunaṃ premṇā sasvaje pāṇḍavarṣabhaḥ ॥7-60-2॥

Upon entering the auspicious chamber and saluting, the noble Pandava stood up and lovingly embraced Arjuna.
मूर्ध्नि चैनमुपाघ्राय परिष्वज्य च बाहुना। आशिषः परमाः प्रोच्य स्मयमानोऽभ्यभाषत ॥७-६०-३॥
mūrdhni cainamupāghrāya pariṣvajya ca bāhunā। āśiṣaḥ paramāḥ procya smayamāno'bhyabhāṣata ॥7-60-3॥

(On the head and having smelled him, having embraced with arms, having spoken supreme blessings, smiling, he spoke.)

व्यक्तमर्जुन सङ्ग्रामे ध्रुवस्ते विजयो महान्। यादृग्रूपा हि ते छाया प्रसन्नश्च जनार्दनः ॥७-६०-४॥
vyaktamarjuna saṅgrāme dhruvaste vijayo mahān। yādṛgrūpā hi te chāyā prasannaśca janārdanaḥ ॥7-60-4॥

(Manifest, Arjuna, in battle, certain is your victory great. As is your form, indeed, your shadow is pleased and Krishna.)
Arjuna, it is evident in battle that your victory is assured and great. Just as your form is, your shadow is pleased, and so is Krishna.
तमब्रवीत्ततो जिष्णुर्महदाश्चर्यमुत्तमम्। दृष्टवानस्मि भद्रं ते केशवस्य प्रसादजम् ॥७-६०-५॥
tamabravīttato jiṣṇurmahadāścaryamuttamam। dṛṣṭavānasmi bhadraṃ te keśavasya prasādajam ॥7-60-5॥

(Then Arjuna said to him, "I have seen the great and excellent wonder, auspicious for you, by the grace of Keshava.")

ततस्तत्कथयामास यथादृष्टं धनञ्जयः। आश्वासनार्थं सुहृदां त्र्यम्बकेन समागमम् ॥७-६०-६॥

अनुज्ञातास्ततः सर्वे सुहृदो धर्मसूनुना। त्वरमाणाः सुसंनद्धा हृष्टा युद्धाय निर्ययुः ॥७-६०-८॥

रथेनैकेन दुर्धर्षौ युयुधानजनार्दनौ। जग्मतुः सहितौ वीरावर्जुनस्य निवेशनम् ॥७-६०-१०॥
rathenaikena durdharṣau yuyudhānajanārdanau। jagmatuḥ sahitau vīrāvarjunasya niveśanam ॥7-60-10॥

(That excellent chariot, with a sound like a cloud and a lustre of heated gold, shone, arranged like the child-maker of the day.)

ततः पुरुषशार्दूलः सज्जः सज्जं पुरःसरः। कृताह्निकाय पार्थाय न्यवेदयत तं रथम् ॥७-६०-१३॥

(Then the tiger among men, ready and prepared, leading, presented that chariot to Arjuna who had completed the morning rituals.)

(But him, the best of men in the world, wearing a crown and golden armor, with an arrow and a bow, the vehicle circumambulated.)

तमनुप्रयतो वायुः पुण्यगन्धवहः शुचिः। ववौ संहर्षयन्पार्थं द्विषतश्चापि शोषयन् ॥७-६०-२४॥
tamanuprayato vāyuḥ puṇyagandhavahaḥ śuciḥ। vavau saṃharṣayanpārthaṃ dviṣataścāpi śoṣayan ॥7-60-24॥

दृष्ट्वार्जुनो निमित्तानि विजयाय प्रदक्षिणम्। युयुधानं महेष्वासमिदं वचनमब्रवीत् ॥७-६०-२६॥
dṛṣṭvārjuno nimittāni vijayāya pradakṣiṇam। yuyudhānaṃ maheṣvāsamidaṃ vacanamabravīt ॥7-60-26॥

Upon observing the omens, Arjuna performed a circumambulation for victory and addressed Yuyudhana, the great archer, with these words.
युयुधानाद्य युद्धे मे दृश्यते विजयो ध्रुवः। यथा हीमानि लिङ्गानि दृश्यन्ते शिनिपुङ्गव ॥७-६०-२७॥
yuyudhānādya yuddhe me dṛśyate vijayo dhruvaḥ। yathā hīmāni liṅgāni dṛśyante śinipuṅgava ॥7-60-27॥

सोऽहं तत्र गमिष्यामि यत्र सैन्धवको नृपः। यियासुर्यमलोकाय मम वीर्यं प्रतीक्षते ॥७-६०-२८॥
so'haṃ tatra gamiṣyāmi yatra saindhavako nṛpaḥ। yiyāsuryamalokāya mama vīryaṃ pratīkṣate ॥7-60-28॥

यथा परमकं कृत्यं सैन्धवस्य वधे मम। तथैव सुमहत्कृत्यं धर्मराजस्य रक्षणे ॥७-६०-२९॥
yathā paramakaṃ kṛtyaṃ saindhavasya vadhe mama। tathaiva sumahatkṛtyaṃ dharmarājasya rakṣaṇe ॥7-60-29॥

(As the greatest deed of mine was in the killing of Saindhava, similarly, the great deed is in the protection of Dharmaraja.)
Just as my greatest task was the slaying of Saindhava, so too is the significant task of protecting Dharmaraja.
स त्वमद्य महाबाहो राजानं परिपालय। यथैव हि मया गुप्तस्त्वया गुप्तो भवेत्तथा ॥७-६०-३०॥
sa tvamadya mahābāho rājānaṃ paripālaya। yathaiva hi mayā guptastvayā gupto bhavettathā ॥7-60-30॥

(You, today, O mighty-armed one, protect the king. As indeed he was protected by me, so may he be protected by you.)
Today, O mighty-armed one, you must protect the king just as I have protected him, so should you.
त्वयि चाहं पराश्वस्य प्रद्युम्ने वा महारथे। शक्नुयां सैन्धवं हन्तुमनपेक्षो नरर्षभ ॥७-६०-३१॥
tvayi cāhaṃ parāśvasya pradyumne vā mahārathe। śaknuyāṃ saindhavaṃ hantumanapekṣo nararṣabha ॥7-60-31॥

(In you, and I, of Parashva, in Pradyumna or in the great chariot-warrior, I can kill Saindhava without concern, O best of men.)

मय्यपेक्षा न कर्तव्या कथञ्चिदपि सात्वत। राजन्येव परा गुप्तिः कार्या सर्वात्मना त्वया ॥७-६०-३२॥
mayyapekṣā na kartavyā kathañcidapi sātvata। rājanyeva parā guptiḥ kāryā sarvātmanā tvayā ॥7-60-32॥

(Dependence on me should not be done in any way, O descendant of Sātvata. Indeed, supreme protection should be done in the king by you with all efforts.)
O descendant of Sātvata, you should not depend on me in any way. Instead, you must ensure the supreme protection of the king with all your efforts.
न हि यत्र महाबाहुर्वासुदेवो व्यवस्थितः। किञ्चिद्व्यापद्यते तत्र यत्राहमपि च ध्रुवम् ॥७-६०-३३॥
na hi yatra mahābāhurvāsudevo vyavasthitaḥ। kiñcidvyāpadyate tatra yatrāhamapi ca dhruvam ॥7-60-33॥

Indeed, wherever the mighty-armed Vasudeva is present, nothing can be harmed, especially where I am also certainly present.
एवमुक्तस्तु पार्थेन सात्यकिः परवीरहा। तथेत्युक्त्वागमत्तत्र यत्र राजा युधिष्ठिरः ॥७-६०-३४॥
evamuktastu pārthena sātyakiḥ paravīrahā। tathetyuktvāgamattaṭra yatra rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ॥7-60-34॥

(Thus spoken by Pārtha, Sātyaki, the hero-slayer of enemies, having said thus, went there where King Yudhishthira was.)
Upon being addressed in this manner by Arjuna (Pārtha), Sātyaki, the destroyer of enemy heroes, proceeded to the place where King Yudhishthira was present.
