स तु दुःशासनं वीरः सायकैरावृणोद्भृशम्। मशकं समनुप्राप्तमूर्णनाभिरिवोर्णया ॥७-९९-३॥

दृष्ट्वा दुःशासनं राजा तथा शरशताचितम्। त्रिगर्तांश्चोदयामास युयुधानरथं प्रति ॥७-९९-४॥

तेऽगच्छन्युयुधानस्य समीपं क्रूरकारिणः। त्रिगर्तानां त्रिसाहस्रा रथा युद्धविशारदाः ॥७-९९-५॥
te'gacchanyuyudhānasya samīpaṃ krūrakāriṇaḥ। trigartānāṃ trisāhasrā rathā yuddhaviśāradāḥ ॥7-99-5॥

ते तु तं रथवंशेन महता पर्यवारयन्। स्थिरां कृत्वा मतिं युद्धे भूत्वा संशप्तका मिथः ॥७-९९-६॥

तेषां प्रयततां युद्धे शरवर्षाणि मुञ्चताम्। योधान्पञ्चशतान्मुख्यानग्रानीके व्यपोथयत् ॥७-९९-७॥

शैनेयशरसङ्कृत्तैः शोणितौघपरिप्लुतैः। अशोभत महाराज किंशुकैरिव पुष्पितैः ॥७-९९-१०॥

(But Satyaki then cut that terrible weapon of your son into a hundred pieces, O king, with sharp arrow-feathers.)

अथान्यद्धनुरादाय पुत्रस्तव जनेश्वर। सात्यकिं दशभिर्विद्ध्वा सिंहनादं ननाद ह ॥७-९९-२०॥

(But Satyaki, angry in battle, having bewildered your son, struck him in the chest with arrows like flames of fire. Again, he pierced him with eight sharp-faced, all-iron arrows.)

duḥśāsanastu viṃśatyā sātyakiṃ pratyavidhyata। sātvato'pi mahārāja taṃ vivyādha stanāntare ॥ tribhireva mahāvegaiḥ śaraiḥ saṃnataparvabhiḥ ॥7-99-22॥

(Duhshasana, however, pierced Satyaki with twenty arrows. Satyaki, O great king, also pierced him in the chest with three arrows of great speed with bent joints.)
