tathā paruṣitaṃ dṛṣṭvā sūtaputreṇa mātulam। khaḍgamudyamya vegena drauṇirabhyapataddrutam ॥7-134-1॥
[तथा (tathā) - thus; परुषितं (paruṣitaṃ) - harshly spoken; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; सूतपुत्रेण (sūtaputreṇa) - by the son of a charioteer; मातुलम् (mātulam) - uncle; खड्गम् (khaḍgam) - sword; उद्यम्य (udyamya) - raising; वेगेन (vegena) - with speed; द्रौणिः (drauṇiḥ) - Drona's son; अभ्यपतत् (abhyapatat) - rushed at; द्रुतम् (drutam) - quickly;]
(Thus, having seen his uncle harshly spoken to by the son of a charioteer, Drona's son, raising his sword, rushed quickly with speed.)
Seeing his uncle insulted by the son of a charioteer, Drona's son quickly raised his sword and charged with great speed.

karṇa paśya sudurbuddhe tiṣṭhedānīṃ narādhama। eṣa te'dya śiraḥ kāyāduddharāmi sudurmate ॥7-134-2॥
[कर्ण (karṇa) - Karna; पश्य (paśya) - see; सुदुर्बुद्धे (sudurbuddhe) - O wicked-minded; तिष्ठ (tiṣṭha) - stand; इदानीं (idānīṃ) - now; नराधम (narādhama) - O lowest of men; एषः (eṣaḥ) - this; ते (te) - your; अद्य (adya) - today; शिरः (śiraḥ) - head; कायात् (kāyāt) - from the body; उद्धरामि (uddharāmi) - I will remove; सुदुर्मते (sudurmate) - O evil-minded;]
(Karna, see, O wicked-minded, stand now, O lowest of men. This day I will remove your head from the body, O evil-minded.)
Karna, look, you wicked-minded one, stand here now, you lowest of men. Today, I will sever your head from your body, you evil-minded one.

(This hero, boastful in battle and evil-minded, the worst of the twice-born, let him face my strength. Release this, O best of the Kurus.)
This hero, who boasts of his prowess in battle and is evil-minded, the worst among the twice-born, should face my strength. Release him, O best of the Kurus.

(This of yours is forgiven by us, O son of Suta, O evil-minded one. Arjuna will destroy this arrogant pride of yours.)

(Ashwatthaman, be pleased to forgive, O giver of honor. Indeed, anger should not be done to the son of a charioteer in any way.)

त्वयि कर्णे कृपे द्रोणे मद्रराजेऽथ सौबले। महत्कार्यं समायत्तं प्रसीद द्विजसत्तम ॥७-१३४-७॥

(In you, Karna, Kripa, Drona, the king of Madra, and Saubala, a great task is entrusted. Be pleased, O best of the twice-born.)
A great responsibility is placed upon you, Karna, Kripa, Drona, the king of Madra, and Saubala. Please be gracious, O noble Brahmin.
एते ह्यभिमुखाः सर्वे राधेयेन युयुत्सवः। आयान्ति पाण्डवा ब्रह्मन्नाह्वयन्तः समन्ततः ॥७-१३४-८॥
ete hyabhimukhāḥ sarve rādheyena yuyutsavaḥ। āyānti pāṇḍavā brahmannāhvayantaḥ samantataḥ ॥7-134-8॥

(These indeed, all facing Radheya, desiring to fight, are coming, the Pandavas, O Brahman, challenging from all sides.)
The Pandavas, eager to fight and facing Radheya, are approaching from all directions, O Brahman, issuing challenges.

karṇo'pi rathināṃ śreṣṭhaścāpamudyamya vīryavān। kauravāgryaiḥ parivṛtaḥ śakro devagaṇairiva ॥ paryatiṣṭhata tejasvī svabāhubalamāśritaḥ ॥7-134-9॥
[कर्णः (karṇaḥ) - Karna; अपि (api) - also; रथिनाम् (rathinām) - of charioteers; श्रेष्ठः (śreṣṭhaḥ) - the best; च (ca) - and; अपम् (apam) - bow; उद्यम्य (udyamya) - having raised; वीर्यवान् (vīryavān) - mighty; कौरवाग्र्यैः (kauravāgryaiḥ) - by the foremost of the Kauravas; परिवृतः (parivṛtaḥ) - surrounded; शक्रः (śakraḥ) - Indra; देवगणैः (devagaṇaiḥ) - by the groups of gods; इव (iva) - like; पर्यतिष्ठत (paryatiṣṭhata) - stood; तेजस्वी (tejasvī) - brilliant; स्व (sva) - own; बाहुबलम् (bāhubalam) - strength of arms; आश्रितः (āśritaḥ) - relying on;]
(Karna, the best of charioteers, also mighty, having raised his bow, stood surrounded by the foremost of the Kauravas, like Indra by the groups of gods, relying on his own strength of arms.)
Karna, the mightiest among charioteers, stood with his bow raised, surrounded by the elite Kauravas, much like Indra amidst the gods, relying on his own formidable strength.
ततः प्रववृते युद्धं कर्णस्य सह पाण्डवैः। संरब्धस्य महाराज सिंहनादविनादितम् ॥७-१३४-१०॥
tataḥ pravavṛte yuddhaṃ karṇasya saha pāṇḍavaiḥ। saṃrabdhasya mahārāja siṃhanādavināditam ॥7-134-10॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; प्रववृते (pravavṛte) - commenced; युद्धम् (yuddham) - battle; कर्णस्य (karṇasya) - of Karna; सह (saha) - with; पाण्डवैः (pāṇḍavaiḥ) - Pandavas; संरब्धस्य (saṃrabdhasya) - excited; महाराज (mahārāja) - O great king; सिंहनादविनादितम् (siṃhanādavināditam) - resounded with lion roars;]
(Then commenced the battle of Karna with the Pandavas, O great king, resounded with lion roars.)
Then the battle between Karna and the Pandavas began, O great king, echoing with the roars of lions.
ततस्ते पाण्डवा राजन्पाञ्चालाश्च यशस्विनः। दृष्ट्वा कर्णं महाबाहुमुच्चैः शब्दमथानदन् ॥७-१३४-११॥
tataste pāṇḍavā rājanpāñcālāśca yaśasvinaḥ। dṛṣṭvā karṇaṃ mahābāhumuccaiḥ śabdamathānadan ॥7-134-11॥

(Then, O king, the Pāṇḍavas and the glorious Pāñcālas, having seen Karṇa, the mighty-armed, roared loudly.)
Then, O king, the Pāṇḍavas and the illustrious Pāñcālas, upon seeing the mighty-armed Karṇa, let out a loud roar.
अयं कर्णः कुतः कर्णस्तिष्ठ कर्ण महारणे। युध्यस्व सहितोऽस्माभिर्दुरात्मन्पुरुषाधम ॥७-१३४-१२॥
ayaṁ karṇaḥ kutaḥ karṇastiṣṭha karṇa mahāraṇe। yudhyasva sahito'smābhirdurātmanpuruṣādhama ॥7-134-12॥

अन्ये तु दृष्ट्वा राधेयं क्रोधरक्तेक्षणाब्रुवन्। हन्यतामयमुत्सिक्तः सूतपुत्रोऽल्पचेतनः ॥७-१३४-१३॥
anye tu dṛṣṭvā rādheyaṃ krodharaktekṣaṇābruvan। hanyatāmayamutsiktaḥ sūtaputro'lpacetanaḥ ॥7-134-13॥
[अन्ये (anye) - others; तु (tu) - but; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; राधेयं (rādheyaṃ) - Radheya; क्रोधरक्तेक्षणा (krodharaktekṣaṇā) - with eyes red with anger; अब्रुवन् (abruvan) - said; हन्यताम् (hanyatām) - let him be killed; अयम् (ayam) - this; उत्सिक्तः (utsiktaḥ) - arrogant; सूतपुत्रः (sūtaputraḥ) - son of a charioteer; अल्पचेतनः (alpacetanaḥ) - of little intelligence;]
(Others, having seen Radheya with eyes red with anger, said: "Let this arrogant son of a charioteer, of little intelligence, be killed.")
Upon seeing Radheya, whose eyes were red with anger, others exclaimed that this arrogant son of a charioteer, who lacked intelligence, should be killed.
सर्वैः पार्थिवशार्दूलैर्नानेनार्थोऽस्ति जीवता। अत्यन्तवैरी पार्थानां सततं पापपूरुषः ॥७-१३४-१४॥
sarvaiḥ pārthivaśārdūlairnānenārtho'sti jīvatā। atyantavairī pārthānāṃ satataṃ pāpapūruṣaḥ ॥7-134-14॥
[सर्वैः (sarvaiḥ) - by all; पार्थिवशार्दूलैः (pārthivaśārdūlaiḥ) - by the tiger among kings; न (na) - not; अनेन (anena) - by this; अर्थः (arthaḥ) - meaning; अस्ति (asti) - is; जीवता (jīvatā) - living; अत्यन्तवैरी (atyantavairī) - extreme enemy; पार्थानाम् (pārthānām) - of the sons of Pritha; सततम् (satatam) - always; पापपूरुषः (pāpapūruṣaḥ) - wicked man;]
(By all the tiger among kings, there is no meaning in living. He is an extreme enemy of the sons of Pritha, always a wicked man.)
All the kings agree that there is no point in living with him, as he is a constant enemy of the Pandavas and a wicked person.
एष मूलं ह्यनर्थानां दुर्योधनमते स्थितः। हतैनमिति जल्पन्तः क्षत्रियाः समुपाद्रवन् ॥७-१३४-१५॥
eṣa mūlaṃ hyanarthānāṃ duryodhanamate sthitaḥ। hatainamiti jalpantaḥ kṣatriyāḥ samupādravan ॥7-134-15॥
[एष (eṣa) - this; मूलं (mūlaṃ) - root; हि (hi) - indeed; अनर्थानां (anarthānāṃ) - of disasters; दुर्योधनमते (duryodhanamate) - in Duryodhana's opinion; स्थितः (sthitaḥ) - situated; हत (hata) - kill; एनम् (enam) - him; इति (iti) - thus; जल्पन्तः (jalpantaḥ) - speaking; क्षत्रियाः (kṣatriyāḥ) - warriors; समुपाद्रवन् (samupādravan) - attacked;]
(This is indeed the root of disasters, situated in Duryodhana's opinion. Saying 'Kill him', the warriors attacked.)
In Duryodhana's view, this is the root cause of all disasters. The warriors, declaring 'Kill him', launched their attack.
महता शरवर्षेण छादयन्तो महारथाः। वधार्थं सूतपुत्रस्य पाण्डवेयेन चोदिताः ॥७-१३४-१६॥
mahatā śaravarṣeṇa chādayanto mahārathāḥ। vadhārthaṃ sūtaputrasya pāṇḍaveyena coditāḥ ॥7-134-16॥
[महता (mahatā) - by great; शरवर्षेण (śaravarṣeṇa) - by arrow-rain; छादयन्तः (chādayantaḥ) - covering; महारथाः (mahārathāḥ) - great charioteers; वधार्थम् (vadhārtham) - for the purpose of killing; सूतपुत्रस्य (sūtaputrasya) - of the charioteer's son; पाण्डवेयेन (pāṇḍaveyena) - by the son of Pandu; चोदिताः (coditāḥ) - urged;]
(The great charioteers, covering with a great shower of arrows, urged by the son of Pandu for the purpose of killing the charioteer's son.)

तांस्तु सर्वांस्तथा दृष्ट्वा धावमानान्महारथान्। न विव्यथे सूतपुत्रो न च त्रासमगच्छत ॥७-१३४-१७॥
tāṃstu sarvāṃstathā dṛṣṭvā dhāvamānānmahārathān। na vivyathe sūtaputro na ca trāsamagacchat ॥7-134-17॥
[तांस् (tāṃs) - them; तु (tu) - but; सर्वांस् (sarvāṃs) - all; तथा (tathā) - thus; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - seeing; धावमानान् (dhāvamānān) - running; महारथान् (mahārathān) - great charioteers; न (na) - not; विव्यथे (vivyathe) - was disturbed; सूतपुत्रः (sūtaputraḥ) - the son of a charioteer; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; त्रासम् (trāsam) - fear; अगच्छत (agacchat) - approached;]
(But seeing all those great charioteers running, the son of a charioteer was not disturbed, nor did he approach fear.)
The son of a charioteer, upon seeing all those great charioteers running, remained undisturbed and fearless.
दृष्ट्वा नगरकल्पं तमुद्धूतं सैन्यसागरम्। पिप्रीषुस्तव पुत्राणां सङ्ग्रामेष्वपराजितः ॥७-१३४-१८॥
dṛṣṭvā nagarakalpaṃ tamuddhūtaṃ sainyasāgaram। piprīṣustava putrāṇāṃ saṅgrāmeṣvaparājitaḥ ॥7-134-18॥
[दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; नगरकल्पं (nagarakalpaṃ) - like a city; तम् (tam) - that; उद्धूतं (uddhūtaṃ) - raised; सैन्यसागरम् (sainyasāgaram) - ocean of army; पिप्रीषुः (piprīṣuḥ) - desired; तव (tava) - your; पुत्राणां (putrāṇāṃ) - sons; सङ्ग्रामेषु (saṅgrāmeṣu) - in battles; अपराजितः (aparājitaḥ) - undefeated;]
(Having seen that city-like, raised ocean of army, your sons desired to be undefeated in battles.)
Upon seeing that vast army, resembling a city and raised like an ocean, your sons wished to remain undefeated in battles.
सायकौघेन बलवान्क्षिप्रकारी महाबलः। वारयामास तत्सैन्यं समन्ताद्भरतर्षभ ॥७-१३४-१९॥
sāyakaughena balavān kṣiprakārī mahābalaḥ। vārayāmāsa tatsainyaṃ samantād bharatarṣabha ॥7-134-19॥
[सायकौघेन (sāyakaughena) - with a multitude of arrows; बलवान् (balavān) - strong; क्षिप्रकारी (kṣiprakārī) - quick-acting; महाबलः (mahābalaḥ) - mighty; वारयामास (vārayāmāsa) - restrained; तत्सैन्यं (tatsainyaṃ) - that army; समन्तात् (samantāt) - from all sides; भरतर्षभ (bharatarṣabha) - O best of the Bharatas;]
(With a multitude of arrows, the strong, quick-acting, mighty one restrained that army from all sides, O best of the Bharatas.)
The mighty and swift warrior, with his powerful array of arrows, halted the entire army from every direction, O esteemed descendant of Bharata.
ततस्तु शरवर्षेण पार्थिवास्तमवारयन्। धनूंषि ते विधुन्वानाः शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ॥ अयोधयन्त राधेयं शक्रं दैत्यगणा इव ॥७-१३४-२०॥
tatastu śaravarṣeṇa pārthivāstamavārayan। dhanūṃṣi te vidhunvānāḥ śataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ ॥ ayodhayanta rādheyaṃ śakraṃ daityagaṇā iva ॥7-134-20॥

तौ परस्परमासाद्य शरवर्षेण पार्थिव। छादयेतां महेष्वासौ कृतप्रतिकृतैषिणौ ॥७-१३४-४६॥

The warrior, with his horses slain, swiftly leapt from his chariot and mounted Kṛpa's chariot, suffering from the arrow wounds.
राधेयं निर्जितं दृष्ट्वा तावका भरतर्षभ। धनञ्जयशरैर्नुन्नाः प्राद्रवन्त दिशो दश ॥७-१३४-५२॥
rādheyaṃ nirjitaṃ dṛṣṭvā tāvakā bharatarṣabha। dhanañjayaśarairnunnāḥ prādravanta diśo daśa ॥7-134-52॥

(Seeing them running, King Duryodhana, O king, stopped them then and said these words indeed.)
Upon seeing them fleeing, King Duryodhana addressed them, saying, "O king, stop them immediately."
अलं द्रुतेन वः शूरास्तिष्ठध्वं क्षत्रियर्षभाः। एष पार्थवधायाहं स्वयं गच्छामि संयुगे ॥ अहं पार्थान्हनिष्यामि सपाञ्चालान्ससोमकान् ॥७-१३४-५४॥

(Seeing him, the mighty-armed, departing, Śāradvata then approached Aśvatthāmā and spoke these words indeed.)

एष राजा महाबाहुरमर्षी क्रोधमूर्छितः। पतङ्गवृत्तिमास्थाय फल्गुनं योद्धुमिच्छति ॥७-१३४-६२॥

[यावत् (yāvat) - as long as; पार्थ (pārtha) - Arjuna; शरैः (śaraiḥ) - by arrows; घोरैः (ghoraiḥ) - terrible; निर्मुक्त (nirmukta) - released; उरग (uraga) - serpent; संनिभैः (saṃnibhaiḥ) - resembling; न (na) - not; भस्मी (bhasmī) - to ashes; क्रियते (kriyate) - is made; राजा (rājā) - the king; तावत् (tāvat) - until then; युद्धात् (yuddhāt) - from battle; निवार्यताम् (nivāryatām) - should be restrained;]
(As long as the king is not reduced to ashes by the terrible arrows of Arjuna, resembling released serpents, he should be restrained from battle.)
The king should be kept away from the battle until he is destroyed by the fierce arrows of Arjuna, which are like unleashed serpents.
अयुक्तमिव पश्यामि तिष्ठत्स्वस्मासु मानद। स्वयं युद्धाय यद्राजा पार्थं यात्यसहायवान् ॥७-१३४-६६॥

(I think the life of the Kaurava is difficult to obtain by the crowned one, like an elephant by the tiger fighting with Partha.)
I believe that the life of the Kaurava is as difficult to preserve by the crowned one as an elephant's life is when fighting a tiger, especially when Partha is involved.
मातुलेनैवमुक्तस्तु द्रौणिः शस्त्रभृतां वरः। दुर्योधनमिदं वाक्यं त्वरितं समभाषत ॥७-१३४-६८॥
mātulenai vamuktastu drauṇiḥ śastrabhṛtāṃ varaḥ। duryodhanamidaṃ vākyaṃ tvaritaṃ samabhāṣata ॥7-134-68॥

(Thus spoken by the uncle, Drona's son, the best of the wielders of weapons, quickly addressed this speech to Duryodhana.)
After being addressed in this manner by his uncle, Ashwatthama, the best among warriors, quickly spoke these words to Duryodhana.
मयि जीवति गान्धारे न युद्धं गन्तुमर्हसि। मामनादृत्य कौरव्य तव नित्यं हितैषिणम् ॥७-१३४-६९॥
mayi jīvati gāndhāre na yuddhaṃ gantum arhasi। māmanādṛtya kauravya tava nityaṃ hitaiṣiṇam ॥7-134-69॥

(As long as I am living in Gandhara, you should not go to war, disregarding me, O Kaurava, your constant well-wisher.)
While I am alive in Gandhara, you should not proceed to war, ignoring me, as I am always your well-wisher, O Kaurava.
न हि ते सम्भ्रमः कार्यः पार्थस्य विजयं प्रति। अहमावारयिष्यामि पार्थं तिष्ठ सुयोधन ॥७-१३४-७०॥
na hi te sambhramaḥ kāryaḥ pārthasya vijayaṃ prati। ahamāvārayiṣyāmi pārthaṃ tiṣṭha suyodhana ॥7-134-70॥
[न (na) - not; हि (hi) - indeed; ते (te) - your; सम्भ्रमः (sambhramaḥ) - confusion; कार्यः (kāryaḥ) - should be; पार्थस्य (pārthasya) - of Arjuna; विजयम् (vijayam) - victory; प्रति (prati) - towards; अहम् (aham) - I; आवारयिष्यामि (āvārayiṣyāmi) - will stop; पार्थम् (pārtham) - Arjuna; तिष्ठ (tiṣṭha) - stay; सुयोधन (suyodhana) - Suyodhana;]
(Indeed, your confusion should not be towards Arjuna's victory. I will stop Arjuna. Stay, Suyodhana.)

ācāryaḥ pāṇḍuputrānvai putravatparirakṣati। tvamapyupekṣāṃ kuruṣe teṣu nityaṃ dvijottama ॥7-134-71॥

mama vā mandabhāgyatvānmandaste vikramo yudhi। dharmarājapriyārthaṃ vā draupadyā vā na vidma tat ॥7-134-72॥
[मम (mama) - my; वा (vā) - or; मन्दभाग्यत्वात् (mandabhāgyatvāt) - due to misfortune; मन्दः (mandaḥ) - weak; ते (te) - your; विक्रमः (vikramaḥ) - valor; युधि (yudhi) - in battle; धर्मराजप्रियार्थं (dharmarājapriyārtham) - for the sake of Dharmaraja; वा (vā) - or; द्रौपद्या (draupadyā) - for Draupadi; वा (vā) - or; न (na) - not; विद्म (vidma) - we know; तत् (tat) - that;]
(My or due to misfortune, your valor is weak in battle. For the sake of Dharmaraja or Draupadi, or we do not know that.)

धिगस्तु मम लुब्धस्य यत्कृते सर्वबान्धवाः। सुखार्हाः परमं दुःखं प्राप्नुवन्त्यपराजिताः ॥७-१३४-७३॥
dhigastu mama lubdhasya yatkṛte sarvabāndhavāḥ। sukhārhāḥ paramaṃ duḥkhaṃ prāpnuvantyaparājitāḥ ॥7-134-73॥
[धिक् (dhik) - shame; अस्तु (astu) - let it be; मम (mama) - my; लुब्धस्य (lubdhasya) - of the greedy; यत् (yat) - because of which; कृते (kṛte) - for the sake of; सर्व (sarva) - all; बान्धवाः (bāndhavāḥ) - relatives; सुखार्हाः (sukhārhāḥ) - deserving happiness; परमम् (paramam) - supreme; दुःखम् (duḥkham) - sorrow; प्राप्नुवन्ति (prāpnuvanti) - attain; अपराजिताः (aparājitāḥ) - undefeated;]
(Shame on my greed, because of which all my relatives, deserving happiness, attain supreme sorrow, undefeated.)

(Who indeed among the chief weapon-bearers, equal to Maheshvara in battle, is capable of not destroying enemies, who would not be the son of Gautami?)
Who among the chief warriors, comparable to Maheshvara in battle, would be capable of not destroying enemies, if he were not the son of Gautami?
अश्वत्थामन्प्रसीदस्व नाशयैतान्ममाहितान्। तवास्त्रगोचरे शक्ताः स्थातुं देवापि नानघ ॥७-१३४-७५॥
aśvatthāmanprasīdasva nāśayaitānmamāhitān। tavāstragocare śaktāḥ sthātuṃ devāpi nānagha ॥7-134-75॥
[अश्वत्थामन् (aśvatthāman) - Ashwatthaman; प्रसीदस्व (prasīdasva) - be pleased; नाशय (nāśaya) - destroy; एतान् (etān) - these; मम (mama) - my; अहितान् (ahitān) - enemies; तव (tava) - your; अस्त्रगोचरे (astragocare) - within the range of weapons; शक्ताः (śaktāḥ) - capable; स्थातुं (sthātuṃ) - to stand; देवाः (devāḥ) - gods; अपि (api) - even; न (na) - not; अनघ (anagha) - sinless one;]
(Ashwatthaman, be pleased, destroy these my enemies. Within the range of your weapons, even the gods are not capable to stand, O sinless one.)

पाञ्चालान्सोमकांश्चैव जहि द्रौणे सहानुगान्। वयं शेषान्हनिष्यामस्त्वयैव परिरक्षिताः ॥७-१३४-७६॥
pāñcālānsomakāṃścaiva jahi drauṇe sahānugān। vayaṃ śeṣānhaniṣyāmastvayaiva parirakṣitāḥ ॥7-134-76॥
[पाञ्चालान् (pāñcālān) - Panchalas; सोमकान् (somakān) - Somakas; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; जहि (jahi) - slay; द्रौणे (drauṇe) - Drona's son; सह (saha) - with; अनुगान् (anugān) - followers; वयम् (vayam) - we; शेषान् (śeṣān) - the rest; हनिष्यामः (haniṣyāmaḥ) - shall slay; त्वया (tvayā) - by you; एव (eva) - indeed; परिरक्षिताः (parirakṣitāḥ) - protected;]
(Slay the Panchalas, Somakas, and Drona's son along with his followers. We shall slay the rest, indeed protected by you.)

[एते (ete) - these; हि (hi) - indeed; सोमकाः (somakāḥ) - Somakas; विप्र (vipra) - brahmins; पाञ्चालाः (pāñcālāḥ) - Panchalas; च (ca) - and; यशस्विनः (yaśasvinaḥ) - glorious; मम (mama) - my; सैन्येषु (sainyeṣu) - in the armies; संरब्धाः (saṁrabdhāḥ) - excited; विचरन्ति (vicaranti) - move; दवाग्निवत् (davāgnivat) - like a forest fire;]
(These indeed, the Somakas, the brahmins, and the glorious Panchalas, excited, move in my armies like a forest fire.)

तान्वारय महाबाहो केकयांश्च नरोत्तम। पुरा कुर्वन्ति निःशेषं रक्ष्यमाणाः किरीटिना ॥७-१३४-७८॥
tānvāraya mahābāho kekayāṁśca narottama। purā kurvanti niḥśeṣaṁ rakṣyamāṇāḥ kirīṭinā ॥7-134-78॥
[तान् (tān) - them; वारय (vāraya) - restrain; महाबाहो (mahābāho) - O mighty-armed; केकयान् (kekayān) - Kekayas; च (ca) - and; नरोत्तम (narottama) - best of men; पुरा (purā) - before; कुर्वन्ति (kurvanti) - do; निःशेषम् (niḥśeṣam) - completely; रक्ष्यमाणाः (rakṣyamāṇāḥ) - protected; किरीटिना (kirīṭinā) - by Arjuna;]
(O mighty-armed, restrain them, the Kekayas and the best of men, before they completely act, being protected by Arjuna.)

[आदौ (ādau) - in the beginning; वा (vā) - or; यदि (yadi) - if; वा (vā) - or; पश्चात् (paścāt) - afterwards; तव (tava) - your; इदं (idaṃ) - this; कर्म (karma) - action; मारिष (māriṣa) - O honorable one; त्वम् (tvam) - you; उत्पन्नः (utpannaḥ) - born; महाबाहो (mahābāho) - O mighty-armed one; पाञ्चालानाम् (pāñcālānām) - of the Pāñcālas; वधं (vadhaṃ) - destruction; प्रति (prati) - towards;]
(In the beginning or if afterwards, this action of yours, O honorable one, you are born, O mighty-armed one, towards the destruction of the Pāñcālas.)
Whether at the beginning or later, this is your action, O honorable one. You were born, O mighty-armed one, for the destruction of the Pāñcālas.
करिष्यसि जगत्सर्वमपाञ्चालं किलाच्युत। एवं सिद्धाब्रुवन्वाचो भविष्यति च तत्तथा ॥७-१३४-८०॥
kariṣyasi jagatsarvamapāñcālaṃ kilācyuta। evaṃ siddhābruvanvāco bhaviṣyati ca tattathā ॥7-134-80॥
[करिष्यसि (kariṣyasi) - you will do; जगत्सर्वम् (jagatsarvam) - the entire world; अपाञ्चालम् (apāñcālam) - without Pāñcāla; किल (kila) - indeed; अच्युत (acyuta) - O Acyuta; एवम् (evam) - thus; सिद्धाः (siddhāḥ) - the accomplished ones; अब्रुवन् (abruvan) - said; वाचः (vācaḥ) - words; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will happen; च (ca) - and; तत् (tat) - that; तथा (tathā) - so;]
(You will do the entire world without Pāñcāla, indeed, O Acyuta. Thus the accomplished ones said words, and that will happen so.)
"O Acyuta, you will indeed conquer the entire world, leaving out Pāñcāla. Thus spoke the accomplished ones, and it shall happen as they said:"
न तेऽस्त्रगोचरे शक्ताः स्थातुं देवाः सवासवाः। किमु पार्थाः सपाञ्चालाः सत्यमेतद्वचो मम ॥७-१३४-८१॥
na te'stragocare śaktāḥ sthātuṃ devāḥ savāsavāḥ। kimu pārthāḥ sapāñcālāḥ satyametadvaco mama ॥7-134-81॥
[न (na) - not; ते (te) - they; अस्त्रगोचरे (astragocare) - in the range of weapons; शक्ताः (śaktāḥ) - capable; स्थातुं (sthātuṃ) - to stand; देवाः (devāḥ) - gods; सवासवाः (savāsavāḥ) - with Indra; किमु (kimu) - what to say of; पार्थाः (pārthāḥ) - sons of Pritha; सपाञ्चालाः (sapāñcālāḥ) - with the Panchalas; सत्यम् (satyam) - truth; एतत् (etat) - this; वचः (vacaḥ) - statement; मम (mama) - my;]
(Not even the gods with Indra are capable of standing in the range of weapons; what to say of the sons of Pritha with the Panchalas. This is my statement of truth.)
Even the gods along with Indra cannot withstand the range of these weapons, let alone the sons of Pritha and the Panchalas. This is my truthful statement.
