जरासन्धश्चेदिराजो नैषादिश्च महाबलः। यदि स्युर्न हताः पूर्वमिदानीं स्युर्भयङ्कराः ॥७-१५६-२॥
jarāsandhaścedirājo naiṣādiśca mahābalaḥ। yadi syurna hatāḥ pūrvamidānīṃ syurbhayaṅkarāḥ ॥7-156-2॥

तत्र स्म राक्षसी घोरा जरा नामाशुविक्रमा। सन्धयामास तं जातं जरासन्धमरिंदमम् ॥७-१५६-१२॥

(There indeed, the terrible demoness named Jara, swift in action, joined that which was born, Jarasandha, the subduer of enemies.)

द्वाभ्यां जातो हि मातृभ्यामर्धदेहः पृथक्पृथक्। तया स सन्धितो यस्माज्जरासन्धस्ततः स्मृतः ॥७-१५६-१३॥

स चाप्यशक्यः सङ्ग्रामे जेतुं सर्वैः सुरासुरैः। वधार्थं तस्य जातोऽहमन्येषां च सुरद्विषाम् ॥७-१५६-२२॥

(The tumultuous sound increases towards the enemy army. Your soldiers flee in ten directions.)

लब्धलक्ष्या हि कौरव्या विधमन्ति चमूं तव। दहत्येष च वः सैन्यं द्रोणः प्रहरतां वरः ॥७-१५६-३३॥
labdhalakṣyā hi kauravyā vidhamanti camūṁ tava। dahatyeṣa ca vaḥ sainyaṁ droṇaḥ praharatāṁ varaḥ ॥7-156-33॥
[लब्धलक्ष्या (labdhalakṣyā) - having obtained the target; हि (hi) - indeed; कौरव्या (kauravyā) - the Kauravas; विधमन्ति (vidhamanti) - are striking; चमूं (camūṁ) - the army; तव (tava) - your; दहति (dahati) - burns; एषः (eṣaḥ) - this; च (ca) - and; वः (vaḥ) - your; सैन्यं (sainyaṁ) - army; द्रोणः (droṇaḥ) - Drona; प्रहरतां (praharatāṁ) - of the attackers; वरः (varaḥ) - the best;]
(Having obtained the target, indeed, the Kauravas are striking your army. This Drona, the best of the attackers, burns your army.)
