Kṛpa said:
"O infallible one, it is fortunate that this intention to counteract has arisen in you. Not even Indra, who wields the thunderbolt, can stop you himself."
"We will follow you in the morning, both together. Tonight, rest without armor and flag."
I, along with Kritavarma and Satyaki, will follow you as you proceed towards the enemies, armed and ready on our chariots.
Together with us, you will slay the enemies tomorrow in the battle, having advanced, O best of charioteers, against the Panchalas and their followers.
You have the strength to act, but rest for this night. You have been awake for a long time, dear, so sleep until this night passes.
"O giver of honor, once you are rested, awake, and calm-minded, and have gathered in battle, you will surely defeat the enemies without any doubt."
Indeed, O son of Pāvakā, no one among the gods dares to defeat you, the foremost of charioteers, wielding a supreme weapon.
Who could possibly face the fierce Drauṇi in battle, accompanied by Kṛpa and allied with Kṛtavarman, not even the king of gods?
"We, having rested and being free from fever and sleeplessness, shall indeed slay the enemies at dawn."
There is no doubt that your weapons are divine, and so are mine. Sātvata is also a great archer, always skilled in battles.
Dear father, we shall together overpower and kill all the assembled enemies in battle and obtain abundant joy. Rest without worry and sleep comfortably this night.
I and Kritavarma, O best of men, will follow you as you depart. Together, as mighty archers, we will be mounted on chariots, adorned and moving swiftly as charioteers.
He went to their camp, announced the name in battle, and then you will cause a great slaughter of the fighting enemies.
In the clear morning, after causing their destruction, enjoy yourself like Indra who has slain the great demons.
You are truly capable of defeating the Pāñcāla army in battle, just as the furious destroyer of all demons defeats the demon army.
Even Indra himself, the powerful one, could not withstand you and me together in battle, protected by Kṛtavarmā.
Dear father, neither I nor Kritavarma will ever retreat from battle without first defeating the Pandavas.
After killing the petty Panchalas along with the Pandavas in battle, we shall all return, or if we are killed, we shall ascend to heaven.
O mighty-armed one, I declare to you, O sinless one, that by all means, your helpers will certainly be with us in the morning. This is the truth.
Thus addressed by his maternal uncle with beneficial words, Drona's son, rolling his eyes in anger, spoke to his uncle, O king.
How can a distressed or angry person, or one who is constantly thinking about objects or desires, find sleep?
Behold today my fourfold attainment, whose fourth part destroys my dream by day.
"What is the sorrow in this world, as I remember my father's killing, my heart burns, and today, the nights and days do not bring peace."
As my father was especially killed by the wicked, all of that directly pierces my vital points.
How can someone like me continue to live even for a moment in this world, upon hearing the words of the Pāñcālas that Droṇa has been slain?
I cannot bear to live due to Dhrishtadyumna's prowess in battle. He, along with the Panchalas who are assembled, must be slain for my father's murder.
The lamentation of the king with a broken thigh, which I heard, would not fail to burn the heart of even the most cruel person again.
Even the most merciless would shed tears upon hearing the words of the king whose thigh was broken.
This friend of mine, though defeated, lives within me, causing my sorrow to swell like the ocean's tide. Today, with a mind so focused, where can I find sleep or happiness?
Uncle, I believe that those protected by Vasudeva and Arjuna are invincible, even by the great Indra.
I am determined that no one in this world can restrain me from my duties, and this conviction is my strength and virtue.
Hearing from the commentators, the defeat of my friends and the victory of the Pandavas feels like a burning sensation in my heart.
"I have slaughtered the enemies today during the night, and then I rested and slept, free from any distress."
