janyārtham annaṃ drupadena rājñā; vivāha-hetor upasaṃskṛtaṃ ca। tad āpnuva dhvaṃ kṛta-sarva-kāryāḥ; kṛṣṇā ca tatraiva ciraṃ na kāryam ॥1-186-1॥
[जन्यार्थम् (janyārtham) - for the sake of people; अन्नम् (annam) - food; द्रुपदेन (drupadena) - by Drupada; राज्ञा (rājñā) - by the king; विवाहहेतोः (vivāha-hetor) - for the purpose of marriage; उपसंस्कृतम् (upasaṃskṛtam) - prepared; च (ca) - and; तत् (tat) - that; आप्नु (āpnu) - obtain; वध्वम् (dhvaṃ) - you all (wives); कृतसर्वकार्याः (kṛta-sarva-kāryāḥ) - having accomplished all duties; कृष्णा (kṛṣṇā) - Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī); च (ca) - and; तत्रैव (tatraiva) - right there; चिरम् (ciram) - for a long time; न (na) - not; कार्यम् (kāryam) - should remain;]
(Food for the sake of people by Drupada the king; and prepared for the purpose of marriage. That you all (wives), having accomplished all duties, obtain; and Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī) should not remain there for a long time.)
The food prepared by King Drupada for the people and for the marriage ceremony—having accomplished all duties, you all may partake of it; and Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī) should not stay there for long.
इमे रथाः काञ्चनपद्मचित्राः; सदश्वयुक्ता वसुधाधिपार्हाः। एतान्समारुह्य परैत सर्वे; पाञ्चालराजस्य निवेशनं तत् ॥१-१८६-२॥

(These chariots adorned with golden lotuses, yoked with good horses, worthy of a king. Having mounted these, let all go to the residence of the king of the Pāñcālas, that (residence).)
These are chariots adorned with golden lotuses, yoked with excellent horses, fit for a king. Let all mount these and proceed to the residence of the king of the Pāñcālas.

(Having heard the words of the priest, which the king of dharma had spoken, O Bhārata, then indeed, with curiosity, he collected many objects of the foremost of Kurus.)
O Bhārata, having listened to the words spoken by the priest, the king of dharma, out of curiosity, then gathered many possessions belonging to the foremost of the Kurus.
फलानि माल्यानि सुसंस्कृतानि; चर्माणि वर्माणि तथासनानि। गाश्चैव राजन्नथ चैव रज्जू; र्द्रव्याणि चान्यानि कृषीनिमित्तम् ॥१-१८६-५॥

(In other arts and whatever else there may be, all (things) prepared entirely there; and whatever things for play, all those the king brought there.)
The king brought together all things prepared in other arts and whatever else there was, as well as all things meant for play, entirely there.
रथाश्ववर्माणि च भानुमन्ति; खड्गा महान्तोऽश्वरथाश्च चित्राः। धनूंषि चाग्र्याणि शराश्च मुख्याः; शक्त्यृष्टयः काञ्चनभूषिताश्च ॥१-१८६-७॥
rathāśvavarmāṇi ca bhānumanti; khaḍgā mahānto'śvarathāśca citrāḥ. dhanūṃṣi cāgryāṇi śarāśca mukhyāḥ; śaktyṛṣṭayaḥ kāñcanabhūṣitāśca ॥1-186-7॥

प्रासा भुशुण्ड्यश्च परश्वधाश्च; साङ्ग्रामिकं चैव तथैव सर्वम्। शय्यासनान्युत्तमसंस्कृतानि; तथैव चासन्विविधानि तत्र ॥१-१८६-८॥

कुन्ती तु कृष्णां परिगृह्य साध्वी; मन्तःपुरं द्रुपदस्याविवेष। स्त्रियश्च तां कौरवराजपत्नीं; प्रत्यर्चयां चक्रुरदीनसत्त्वाः ॥१-१८६-९॥
kuntī tu kṛṣṇāṃ parigṛhya sādhvī; mantaḥpuraṃ drupadasyāviveṣa. striyaś ca tāṃ kauravarājapatnīṃ; pratyarcayāṃ cakrur adīnasattvāḥ ॥1-186-9॥

(Kuntī but Kṛṣṇā having embraced, the virtuous woman, entered the inner apartments of Drupada. The women and her, the wife of the king of the Kauravas, honored, did, of undepressed spirit.)
But Kuntī, having embraced Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī), the virtuous lady, entered Drupada's inner apartments. The women there, noble in spirit, honored her, the wife of the Kaurava king.
तान्सिंहविक्रान्तगतीनवेक्ष्य; महर्षभाक्षानजिनोत्तरीयान्। गूढोत्तरांसान्भुजगेन्द्रभोग; प्रलम्बबाहून्पुरुषप्रवीरान् ॥१-१८६-१०॥
tān siṃha-vikrānta-gatīn avekṣya; maharṣabha-akṣān ajina-uttarīyān। gūḍha-uttarāṃsān bhuja-gendra-bhoga; pralamba-bāhūn puruṣa-pravīrān ॥1-186-10॥
[तान् (tān) - them; सिंहविक्रान्तगतीन् (siṃha-vikrānta-gatīn) - having lion-like heroic movement; अवेक्ष्य (avekṣya) - having observed; महर्षभाक्षान् (maharṣabha-akṣān) - with great bull-like eyes; अजिनोत्तरीयान् (ajina-uttarīyān) - wearing upper garments of animal skin; गूढोत्तरांसान् (gūḍha-uttarāṃsān) - with concealed shoulders; भुजगेन्द्रभोग (bhuja-gendra-bhoga) - arms like the coils of the king of serpents; प्रलम्बबाहून् (pralamba-bāhūn) - with long arms; पुरुषप्रवीरान् (puruṣa-pravīrān) - the foremost among men;]
(Having observed them, whose movement was heroic like a lion, with great bull-like eyes, wearing upper garments of animal skin, with concealed shoulders, arms like the coils of the king of serpents, with long arms, the foremost among men.)
He saw those men, moving with the courage of lions, with eyes like great bulls, clad in animal-skin upper garments, their shoulders concealed, their arms long and coiled like the king of serpents—heroes among men.
राजा च राज्ञः सचिवाश्च सर्वे; पुत्राश्च राज्ञः सुहृदस्तथैव। प्रेष्याश्च सर्वे निखिलेन राज; न्हर्षं समापेतुरतीव तत्र ॥१-१८६-११॥

(The king and all the ministers of the king; and the sons of the king, and likewise the friends; and all the servants entirely, O king, attained exceedingly great joy there.)
The king, all his ministers, sons, friends, and every servant, O king, were all filled with immense joy there.
ते तत्र वीराः परमासनेषु; सपादपीठेष्वविशङ्कमानाः। यथानुपूर्व्या विविशुर्नराग्र्या; स्तदा महार्हेषु न विस्मयन्तः ॥१-१८६-१२॥

(They there heroes on excellent seats with footstools without hesitation as in order entered the foremost men then on very costly (seats) not being astonished.)
There, those heroes, the foremost of men, entered the excellent seats with footstools in due order, without hesitation, and then, seated on the very costly seats, they were not astonished.
उच्चावचं पार्थिवभोजनीयं; पात्रीषु जाम्बूनदराजतीषु। दासाश्च दास्यश्च सुमृष्टवेषाः; भोजापकाश्चाप्युपजह्रुरन्नम् ॥१-१८६-१३॥
uccāvacaṃ pārthivabhojanīyaṃ; pātrīṣu jāmbūnadarājatīṣu। dāsāśca dāsyaśca sumṛṣṭaveṣāḥ; bhojāpakāścāpyupajahruarannam ॥1-186-13॥
[उच्चावचम् (uccāvacam) - high and low; पार्थिवभोजनीयम् (pārthivabhojanīyam) - fit for royal consumption; पात्रीषु (pātrīṣu) - in vessels; जाम्बूनदराजतीषु (jāmbūnadarājatīṣu) - made of gold and silver; दासाः (dāsāḥ) - male servants; च (ca) - and; दास्यः (dāsyaḥ) - female servants; च (ca) - and; सुमृष्टवेषाः (sumṛṣṭaveṣāḥ) - well-adorned; भोजापकाः (bhojāpakāḥ) - food preparers; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; उपजह्रुः (upajahruḥ) - brought; अन्नम् (annam) - food;]
(High and low (quality) food fit for royal consumption, in vessels made of gold and silver; male and female servants, well-adorned, and food preparers also brought food.)
High and low varieties of food suitable for kings were served in golden and silver vessels; well-dressed male and female servants, along with food preparers, also brought the food.
ते तत्र भुक्त्वा पुरुषप्रवीरा; यथानुकामं सुभृशं प्रतीताः। उत्क्रम्य सर्वाणि वसूनि तत्र; साङ्ग्रामिकान्याविविशुर्नृवीराः ॥१-१८६-१४॥
te tatra bhuktvā puruṣapravīrāḥ; yathānukāmaṃ subhṛśaṃ pratītāḥ। utkrāmya sarvāṇi vasūni tatra; sāṅgrāmikānyāviviśurnṛvīrāḥ ॥1-186-14॥
[ते (te) - they; तत्र (tatra) - there; भुक्त्वा (bhuktvā) - having enjoyed; पुरुषप्रवीराः (puruṣapravīrāḥ) - heroes among men; यथा (yathā) - as; अनुकामम् (anukāmam) - according to desire; सुभृशम् (subhṛśam) - exceedingly; प्रतीताः (pratītāḥ) - satisfied; उत्क्रम्य (utkrāmya) - having left behind; सर्वाणि (sarvāṇi) - all; वसूनि (vasūni) - possessions; तत्र (tatra) - there; साङ्ग्रामिकानि (sāṅgrāmikāni) - belonging to battle; आविविशुः (āviviśuḥ) - entered; नृवीराः (nṛvīrāḥ) - warrior-heroes;]
(They there having enjoyed, heroes among men; as according to desire exceedingly satisfied. Having left behind all possessions there; the warrior-heroes entered those belonging to battle.)
The heroes among men, having enjoyed themselves there, were exceedingly satisfied according to their desires. Leaving all their possessions there, the warrior-heroes entered the battlefield.
तल्लक्षयित्वा द्रुपदस्य पुत्रो; राजा च सर्वैः सह मन्त्रिमुख्यैः। समर्चयामासुरुपेत्य हृष्टाः; कुन्तीसुतान्पार्थिवपुत्रपौत्रान् ॥१-१८६-१५॥
tallakṣayitvā drupadasya putro; rājā ca sarvaiḥ saha mantrimukhyaiḥ. samarcayāmāsurupetya hṛṣṭāḥ; kuntīsutān pārthivaputrapautrān ॥1-186-15॥

(Having observed that, the son of Drupada, the king, together with all the chief ministers, joyfully approached and honored the sons of Kunti, the sons and grandsons of kings.)
Having noticed this, Drupada's son, the king, along with all the chief ministers, joyfully approached and honored the sons of Kunti, as well as the sons and grandsons of kings.
