शक्रस्य तु सभा दिव्या भास्वरा कर्मभिर्जिता। स्वयं शक्रेण कौरव्य निर्मितार्कसमप्रभा ॥२-७-१॥
śakrasya tu sabhā divyā bhāsvarā karmabhirjitā। svayaṃ śakreṇa kauravya nirmitārkasamaprabhā ॥2-7-1॥
[शक्रस्य (śakrasya) - of Śakra (Indra); तु (tu) - but; indeed; सभा (sabhā) - assembly; hall; दिव्या (divyā) - divine; भास्वरा (bhāsvarā) - shining; radiant; कर्मभिः (karmabhiḥ) - by deeds; by actions; जिता (jitā) - conquered; attained; स्वयम् (svayam) - by himself; himself; शक्रेण (śakreṇa) - by Śakra (Indra); कौरव्य (kauravya) - O Kauravya (descendant of Kuru); निर्मिता (nirmitā) - constructed; made; अर्कसमप्रभा (arkasamaprabhā) - having radiance equal to the sun;]
(But the assembly hall of Śakra is divine, radiant, attained by deeds; O Kauravya, it was constructed by Śakra himself, having radiance equal to the sun.)
But, O Kauravya, the assembly hall of Śakra (Indra) is divine and radiant, attained by his own deeds; it was constructed by Śakra himself and shines with a brilliance equal to the sun. (2-7-1)
विस्तीर्णा योजनशतं शतमध्यर्धमायता। वैहायसी कामगमा पञ्चयोजनमुच्छ्रिता ॥२-७-२॥
vistīrṇā yojanaśataṃ śatamadhyardhamāyatā। vaihāyasī kāmagamā pañcayojanamucchritā ॥2-7-2॥
[विस्तीर्णा (vistīrṇā) - extensively spread; योजनशतं (yojanaśatam) - hundred yojanas; शतमध्यर्धम् (śatamadhyardham) - half of a hundred; आयता (āyatā) - extended; वैहायसी (vaihāyasī) - moving in the sky; कामगमा (kāmagamā) - going as desired; पञ्चयोजनम् (pañcayojanam) - five yojanas; उच्छ्रिता (ucchritā) - raised;]
(Extensively spread, a hundred yojanas, extended to half of a hundred; moving in the sky, going as desired, raised to five yojanas.)
It is extensively spread, a hundred yojanas wide, and half a hundred yojanas long; it moves in the sky at will and is raised to a height of five yojanas. (2-7-2)
जराशोकक्लमापेता निरातङ्का शिवा शुभा। वेश्मासनवती रम्या दिव्यपादपशोभिता ॥२-७-३॥
jarāśoka-klamāpetā nirātaṅkā śivā śubhā। veśmāsanavatī ramyā divya-pādapa-śobhitā ॥2-7-3॥
[जराशोकक्लमापेता (jarāśoka-klamāpetā) - old age, sorrow, fatigue - removed; निरातङ्का (nirātaṅkā) - free from fear; शिवा (śivā) - auspicious; शुभा (śubhā) - good; वेश्मासनवती (veśmāsanavatī) - possessing mansions and seats; रम्या (ramyā) - beautiful; दिव्यपादपशोभिता (divya-pādapa-śobhitā) - adorned with divine trees;]
(Old age, sorrow, and fatigue removed, free from fear, auspicious, good, possessing mansions and seats, beautiful, adorned with divine trees.)

तस्यां देवेश्वरः पार्थ सभायां परमासने। आस्ते शच्या महेन्द्राण्या श्रिया लक्ष्म्या च भारत ॥२-७-४॥
tasyāṃ deveśvaraḥ pārtha sabhāyāṃ paramāsane। āste śacyā mahendrāṇyā śriyā lakṣmyā ca bhārata ॥2-7-4॥

बिभ्रद्वपुरनिर्देश्यं किरीटी लोहिताङ्गदः। विरजोम्बरश्चित्रमाल्यो ह्रीकीर्तिद्युतिभिः सह ॥२-७-५॥
bibhrad-vapuranirdeśyaṃ kirīṭī lohitāṅgadaḥ। virajombaraś-citramālyo hrīkīrtidyutibhiḥ saha ॥2-7-5॥
[बिभ्रत् (bibhrat) - bearing; वपुः (vapuḥ) - form; अनिर्देश्यं (anirdeśyam) - indescribable; किरीटी (kirīṭī) - wearing a crown; लोहिताङ्गदः (lohitāṅgadaḥ) - with red armlets; विरजः (virajaḥ) - stainless; अम्बरः (ambaraḥ) - garment; च (ca) - and; चित्रमाल्यः (citramālyaḥ) - with varied garlands; ह्रीकीर्तिद्युतिभिः (hrīkīrtidyutibhiḥ) - with the radiances of modesty and fame; सह (saha) - together with;]
(Bearing an indescribable form, wearing a crown, with red armlets, stainless garment, and with varied garlands, together with the radiances of modesty and fame.)
He bore an indescribable form, adorned with a crown and red armlets, clad in a spotless garment and various garlands, shining with the brilliance of modesty and fame. (2-7-5)
तस्यामुपासते नित्यं महात्मानं शतक्रतुम्। मरुतः सर्वतो राजन्सर्वे च गृहमेधिनः ॥ सिद्धा देवर्षयश्चैव साध्या देवगणास्तथा ॥२-७-६॥
tasyām upāsate nityaṃ mahātmānaṃ śatakratum। marutaḥ sarvato rājan sarve ca gṛhamedhinaḥ ॥ siddhā devarṣayaś caiva sādhyā devagaṇās tathā ॥2-7-6॥

एते सानुचराः सर्वे दिव्यरूपाः स्वलङ्कृताः। उपासते महात्मानं देवराजमरिंदमम् ॥२-७-७॥
ete sānu-carāḥ sarve divya-rūpāḥ sva-laṅkṛtāḥ। upāsate mahātmānam deva-rājam ariṃ-damam ॥2-7-7॥
[एते (ete) - these; सानुचराः (sānu-carāḥ) - with attendants; सर्वे (sarve) - all; दिव्यरूपाः (divya-rūpāḥ) - divine-formed; स्वलङ्कृताः (sva-laṅkṛtāḥ) - well-adorned; उपासते (upāsate) - worship; महात्मानम् (mahātmānam) - the great-souled; देवराजम् (deva-rājam) - the king of gods; अरिंदमम् (ariṃ-damam) - destroyer of enemies;]
(These, with attendants, all divine-formed, well-adorned, worship the great-souled, the king of gods, the destroyer of enemies.)
All these, along with their attendants, possessing divine forms and well adorned, worship the great-souled Indra, the king of the gods and destroyer of enemies. (2-7-7)
तथा देवर्षयः सर्वे पार्थ शक्रमुपासते। अमला धूतपाप्मानो दीप्यमाना इवाग्नयः ॥ तेजस्विनः सोमयुजो विपापा विगतक्लमाः ॥२-७-८॥
tathā devarṣayaḥ sarve pārtha śakramupāsate। amalā dhūtapāpmāno dīpyamānā ivāgnayaḥ ॥ tejasvinaḥ somayujo vipāpā vigataklamāḥ ॥2-7-8॥
[तथा (tathā) - in that manner; देवर्षयः (devarṣayaḥ) - divine sages; सर्वे (sarve) - all; पार्थ (pārtha) - O Pārtha; शक्रम् (śakram) - Indra; उपासते (upāsate) - worship; अमलाः (amalāḥ) - pure; धूतपाप्मानः (dhūtapāpmānaḥ) - whose sins are washed away; दीप्यमानाः (dīpyamānāḥ) - shining; इव (iva) - like; अग्नयः (agnayaḥ) - fires; तेजस्विनः (tejasvinaḥ) - radiant; सोमयुजः (somayujaḥ) - associated with Soma; विपापाः (vipāpāḥ) - sinless; विगतक्लमाः (vigataklamāḥ) - free from fatigue;]
(In that manner, all the divine sages, O Pārtha, worship Indra. Pure, their sins washed away, shining like fires, radiant, associated with Soma, sinless, free from fatigue.)
In this way, O Pārtha, all the divine sages worship Indra. They are pure, their sins cleansed, shining like fires, radiant, united with Soma, sinless, and free from fatigue. (2-7-8)
पराशरः पर्वतश्च तथा सावर्णिगालवौ। शङ्खश्च लिखितश्चैव तथा गौरशिरा मुनिः ॥२-७-९॥
parāśaraḥ parvataś ca tathā sāvarṇigālavau। śaṅkhaś ca likhitaś caiva tathā gauraśirā muniḥ ॥2-7-9॥

दुर्वासाश्च दीर्घतपा याज्ञवल्क्योऽथ भालुकिः। उद्दालकः श्वेतकेतुस्तथा शाट्यायनः प्रभुः ॥२-७-१०॥
durvāsāś ca dīrghatapā yājñavalkyo 'tha bhālukiḥ। uddālakaḥ śvetaketus tathā śāṭyāyanaḥ prabhuḥ ॥2-7-10॥

जलवाहास्तथा मेघा वायवः स्तनयित्नवः। प्राची दिग्यज्ञवाहाश्च पावकाः सप्तविंशतिः ॥२-७-१८॥
jalavāhās tathā meghā vāyavaḥ stanayitnavāḥ। prācī digyajñavāhāś ca pāvakāḥ saptaviṃśatiḥ ॥2-7-18॥
[जलवाहाः (jalavāhāḥ) - water-carriers; (clouds); तथा (tathā) - likewise; in the same way; मेघाः (meghāḥ) - clouds; वायवः (vāyavaḥ) - winds; स्तनयित्नवः (stanayitnavāḥ) - thunderers; (thunder-clouds); प्राची (prācī) - eastern; दिक् (dik) - direction; यज्ञवाहाः (yajñavāhāḥ) - sacrificial-carriers; (fire); च (ca) - and; पावकाः (pāvakāḥ) - fires; सप्तविंशतिः (saptaviṃśatiḥ) - twenty-seven;]

There are twenty-seven fires: water-carriers, likewise clouds, winds, thunderers, the eastern direction, sacrificial-carriers, and fires. (2-7-18)
अग्नीषोमौ तथेन्द्राग्नी मित्रोऽथ सवितार्यमा। भगो विश्वे च साध्याश्च शुक्रो मन्थी च भारत ॥२-७-१९॥

यज्ञाश्च दक्षिणाश्चैव ग्रहाः स्तोभाश्च सर्वशः। यज्ञवाहाश्च ये मन्त्राः सर्वे तत्र समासते ॥२-७-२०॥

(Sacrifices and gifts indeed, offerings, chants in all ways; those who carry the sacrifice and all mantras, all these assemble there. (2-7-20))

तथैवाप्सरसो राजन्गन्धर्वाश्च मनोरमाः। नृत्यवादित्रगीतैश्च हास्यैश्च विविधैरपि ॥ रमयन्ति स्म नृपते देवराजं शतक्रतुम् ॥२-७-२१॥
tathaivāpsaraso rājan gandharvāś ca manoramāḥ। nṛtyavāditragītaiś ca hāsyaīś ca vividhair api ॥ ramayanti sma nṛpate devarājaṃ śatakratum ॥2-7-21॥

(In the same way, the celestial nymphs and the charming Gandharvas, with dances, musical instruments, songs, and also with various kinds of laughter, indeed delighted the king of gods, Indra, O king.)

[स्तुतिभिः (stutibhiḥ) - by praises; मङ्गलैः (maṅgalaiḥ) - by auspicious acts; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; स्तुवन्तः (stuvantaḥ) - praising; कर्मभिः (karmabhiḥ) - by actions; तथा (tathā) - thus; विक्रमैः (vikramaiḥ) - by valours; च (ca) - and; महात्मानम् (mahātmānam) - the great-souled one; बलवृत्रनिषूदनम् (balavṛtraniṣūdanam) - the destroyer of Bala and Vṛtra;]
(By praises, by auspicious acts indeed, praising, by actions thus, by valours and the great-souled one, the destroyer of Bala and Vṛtra.)

ब्रह्मराजर्षयः सर्वे सर्वे देवर्षयस्तथा। विमानैर्विविधैर्दिव्यैर्भ्राजमानैरिवाग्निभिः ॥२-७-२३॥
brahmarājarṣayaḥ sarve sarve devarṣayas tathā। vimānair vividha ir divyaiḥ bhrājamānair ivāgnibhiḥ ॥2-7-23॥
[ब्रह्मराजर्षयः (brahmarājarṣayaḥ) - brahma-sages and royal-sages; सर्वे (sarve) - all; सर्वे (sarve) - all; देवर्षयः (devarṣayaḥ) - divine-sages; तथा (tathā) - likewise; विमानैः (vimānaiḥ) - by aerial chariots; विविधैः (vividhaiḥ) - of various kinds; दिव्यैः (divyaiḥ) - divine; भ्राजमानैः (bhrājamānaiḥ) - shining; इव (iva) - like; अग्निभिः (agnibhiḥ) - fires;]
(All the brahma-sages and royal-sages, all the divine-sages likewise, by aerial chariots of various kinds, divine, shining like fires.)

स्रग्विणो भूषिताश्चान्ये यान्ति चायान्ति चापरे। बृहस्पतिश्च शुक्रश्च तस्यामाययतुः सह ॥२-७-२४॥
sragviṇo bhūṣitāś cānye yānti cāyānti cāpare। bṛhaspatiś ca śukraś ca tasyām āyayatuḥ saha ॥2-7-24॥
[स्रग्विणः (sragviṇaḥ) - wearers of garlands; भूषिताः (bhūṣitāḥ) - adorned; च (ca) - and; अन्ये (anye) - others; यान्ति (yānti) - go; च (ca) - and; आयान्ति (āyānti) - come; च (ca) - and; अपरे (apare) - others; बृहस्पतिः (bṛhaspatiḥ) - Bṛhaspati; च (ca) - and; शुक्रः (śukraḥ) - Śukra; च (ca) - and; तस्याम् (tasyām) - in that (assembly); आययतुः (āyayatuḥ) - both came; सह (saha) - together;]
(Wearers of garlands, adorned, and others go and others come; Bṛhaspati and Śukra also both came together in that (assembly).)

एते चान्ये च बहवो यतात्मानो यतव्रताः। विमानैश्चन्द्रसङ्काशैः सोमवत्प्रियदर्शनाः ॥ ब्रह्मणो वचनाद्राजन्भृगुः सप्तर्षयस्तथा ॥२-७-२५॥
ete cānye ca bahavo yatātmāno yatavratāḥ। vimānaiś candrasaṅkāśaiḥ somavat priyadarśanāḥ॥ brahmaṇo vacanād rājan bhṛguḥ saptarṣayas tathā॥2-7-25॥
[एते (ete) - these; च (ca) - and; अन्ये (anye) - others; च (ca) - and; बहवः (bahavaḥ) - many; यतात्मानः (yatātmānaḥ) - self-controlled; यतव्रताः (yatavratāḥ) - disciplined in vows; विमानैः (vimānaiḥ) - by aerial cars; चन्द्रसङ्काशैः (candrasaṅkāśaiḥ) - moon-like in appearance; सोमवत् (somavat) - like Soma (the Moon); प्रियदर्शनाः (priyadarśanāḥ) - pleasant to behold; ब्रह्मणः (brahmaṇaḥ) - of Brahmā; वचनात् (vacanāt) - by the word; राजन् (rājan) - O King; भृगुः (bhṛguḥ) - Bhṛgu; सप्तर्षयः (saptarṣayaḥ) - the seven sages; तथा (tathā) - also;]
(These and many others, self-controlled and disciplined in vows, by aerial cars moon-like in appearance, like Soma, pleasant to behold, by the word of Brahmā, O King, Bhṛgu and the seven sages also.)

एषा सभा मया राजन्दृष्टा पुष्करमालिनी। शतक्रतोर्महाराज याम्यां शृणु ममानघ ॥२-७-२६॥
eṣā sabhā mayā rājan dṛṣṭā puṣkaramālinī। śatakrator mahārāja yāmyāṃ śṛṇu mama anagha ॥2-7-26॥
