But now, O sinless one, hear from me as I speak of the various shares—great accumulations of wealth given by kings for sacrifice. (2-48-1)
मेरुमन्दरयोर्मध्ये शैलोदामभितो नदीम्। ये ते कीचकवेणूनां छायां रम्यामुपासते ॥२-४८-२॥
merumandarayor-madhye śailodāmabhito nadīm। ye te kīcakaveṇūnāṃ chāyāṃ ramyām-upāsate ॥2-48-2॥

(In the middle of Meru and Mandara, the river surrounded by lofty mountains, those who worship the pleasant shade of the Kiçaka bamboos, they approach.)

खशा एकाशनाज्योहाः प्रदरा दीर्घवेणवः। पशुपाश्च कुणिन्दाश्च तङ्गणाः परतङ्गणाः ॥२-४८-३॥

te vai pipīlikaṃ nāma varadattaṃ pipīlikaiḥ। jātarūpaṃ droṇameyamahārṣuḥ puñjaśo nṛpāḥ ॥2-48-4॥

पार्वतीया बलिं चान्यमाहृत्य प्रणताः स्थिताः। अजातशत्रोर्नृपतेर्द्वारि तिष्ठन्ति वारिताः ॥२-४८-७॥

candana-aguru-kāṣṭhānāṃ bhārān kālīyakasya ca। carma-ratna-suvarṇānāṃ gandhānāṃ caiva rāśayaḥ ॥2-48-9॥
[चन्दन (candana) - sandalwood; अगुरु (aguru) - aloeswood; काष्ठानां (kāṣṭhānāṃ) - of the woods; भारान् (bhārān) - loads; कालीयकस्य (kālīyakasya) - of Kaliyaka (a type of wood); च (ca) - and; चर्म (carma) - leather; रत्न (ratna) - gems; सुवर्णानां (suvarṇānāṃ) - of gold; गन्धानां (gandhānāṃ) - of perfumes; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; राशयः (rāśayaḥ) - heaps; ॥२-४८-९॥ (॥2-48-9॥) -;]

kairātikānām ayutaṃ dāsīnām ca viśāṃ pate। āhṛtya ramaṇīyārthān dūrajān mṛgapakṣiṇaḥ ॥2-48-10॥

निचितं पर्वतेभ्यश्च हिरण्यं भूरिवर्चसम्। बलिं च कृत्स्नमादाय द्वारि तिष्ठन्ति वारिताः ॥२-४८-११॥

सुजातयः श्रेणिमन्तः श्रेयांसः शस्त्रपाणयः। आहार्षुः क्षत्रिया वित्तं शतशोऽजातशत्रवे ॥२-४८-१६॥
sujātayaḥ śreṇimantaḥ śreyāṁsaḥ śastrapāṇayaḥ। āhārṣuḥ kṣatriyā vittaṁ śataśo'jātaśatrave ॥2-48-16॥

(Well-born ones, having ranks, more excellent, with weapons in their hands, the Kṣatriyas seized wealth by hundreds for Ajātaśatru.)

(The Vanga people, the rulers of Kalinga, the people of Tamralipta, and the people of Pundra, fine cloth, silk, and indeed, cloth made from bark, coverings also.)

तत्र स्म द्वारपालैस्ते प्रोच्यन्ते राजशासनात्। कृतकाराः सुबलयस्ततो द्वारमवाप्स्यथ ॥२-४८-१८॥

(There indeed, by the gatekeepers, they are addressed by the king's command: 'Having fulfilled the task, O Subalas, then you will obtain the gate.')

(For the sake of affection, Brāhmaṇas and indeed Kṣatriyas, subdued, brought (offerings); Vaiśyas and indeed Śūdras, those desiring to serve, also; with affection and out of great respect, approached Yudhiṣṭhira.)

(All foreigners, all classes, those born at the beginning, middle, and end, thus, arisen from various countries and arrived with various races; as if the world itself is overwhelmed in Yudhishthira's abode.)
All foreigners, people of every class, those born at all times, and those who have come from various countries and races, as if the whole world is gathered and overwhelmed in Yudhishthira's palace. (2-48-33)
उच्चावचानुपग्राहान्राजभिः प्रहितान्बहून्। शत्रूणां पश्यतो दुःखान्मुमूर्षा मेऽद्य जायते ॥२-४८-३४॥
uccāvacānupagrāhān rājabhiḥ prahitān bahūn। śatrūṇāṃ paśyato duḥkhān mumūrṣā me'dya jāyate ॥2-48-34॥

(But the servants of the Pāṇḍavas, those I shall tell you, O Bhārata, whose uncooked and cooked (food) Yudhiṣṭhira arranges.)
O Bhārata, I shall now tell you about the servants of the Pāṇḍavas, for whom Yudhiṣṭhira arranges both uncooked and cooked food. (2-48-35)
अयुतं त्रीणि पद्मानि गजारोहाः ससादिनः। रथानामर्बुदं चापि पादाता बहवस्तथा ॥२-४८-३६॥

Whatever is being measured, begun, or cooked, and likewise, whatever is being released elsewhere, and wherever there is the auspicious sound, (all these are included). (2-48-37)
नाभुक्तवन्तं नाहृष्टं नासुभिक्षं कथञ्चन। अपश्यं सर्ववर्णानां युधिष्ठिरनिवेशने ॥२-४८-३८॥
