त्रयः किलेमे अधना भवन्ति; दासः शिष्यश्चास्वतन्त्रा च नारी। दासस्य पत्नी त्वं धनमस्य भद्रे; हीनेश्वरा दासधनं च दासी ॥२-६३-१॥
trayaḥ kileme adhanā bhavanti; dāsaḥ śiṣyaścāsvatantrā ca nārī. dāsasya patnī tvaṃ dhanamasya bhadre; hīneśvarā dāsadhanaṃ ca dāsī ॥2-63-1॥
[त्रयः (trayaḥ) - three; किल (kil) - indeed; इमे (ime) - these; अधना (adhanā) - without wealth; भवन्ति (bhavanti) - are; दासः (dāsaḥ) - servant; शिष्यः (śiṣyaḥ) - disciple; च (ca) - and; अस्वतन्त्रा (asvatantrā) - not independent; च (ca) - and; नारी (nārī) - woman; दासस्य (dāsasya) - of the servant; पत्नी (patnī) - wife; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; धनम् (dhanam) - wealth; अस्य (asya) - of him; भद्रे (bhadre) - O auspicious one; हीन-ईश्वराः (hīneśvarāḥ) - those without a master; दासधनम् (dāsadhanam) - servant's wealth; च (ca) - and; दासी (dāsī) - maidservant;]
(Three indeed these are without wealth: servant, disciple, and woman not independent. Of the servant, wife you are, O auspicious one, the wealth of him. Those without a master, servant's wealth and maidservant.)
There are three who are truly without wealth: the servant, the disciple, and the woman who is not independent. O auspicious one, you are the wife of the servant, the wealth of him. Those without a master, the servant's wealth, and the maidservant. (2-63-1)
प्रविश्य सा नः परिचारैर्भजस्व; तत्ते कार्यं शिष्टमावेश्य वेश्म। ईशाः स्म सर्वे तव राजपुत्रि; भवन्ति ते धार्तराष्ट्रा न पार्थाः ॥२-६३-२॥

(Having entered, she, with our attendants, serve; then, having placed your remaining duty in the house. All the lords, indeed, O princess, become yours—the sons of Dhritarashtra, not the sons of Pritha (Pandavas).)
Enter, and with our attendants, serve; then, having entrusted your remaining duty to the house. All the lords, O princess, will be yours—the sons of Dhritarashtra, not the Pandavas. (2-63-2)
अन्यं वृणीष्व पतिमाशु भामिनि; यस्माद्दास्यं न लभसे देवनेन। अनवद्या वै पतिषु कामवृत्ति; र्नित्यं दास्ये विदितं वै तवास्तु ॥२-६३-३॥
anyaṃ vṛṇīṣva patim āśu bhāmini; yasmād dāsyaṃ na labhase devanena. anavadyā vai patiṣu kāmavṛttir nityaṃ dāsye viditaṃ vai tavāstu ॥2-63-3॥
[अन्यं (anyaṃ) - another; वृणीष्व (vṛṇīṣva) - choose; पतिम् (patim) - husband; आशु (āśu) - quickly; भामिनि (bhāmini) - O beautiful lady; यस्मात् (yasmāt) - because; दास्यम् (dāsyaṃ) - servitude; न (na) - not; लभसे (labhase) - you obtain; देवनेन (devanena) - by this (me, the) Deva; अनवद्या (anavadyā) - blameless; वै (vai) - indeed; पतिषु (patiṣu) - among husbands; कामवृत्तिः (kāmavṛttiḥ) - sexual conduct; नित्यं (nityaṃ) - always; दास्ये (dāsye) - in service; विदितं (viditaṃ) - known; वै (vai) - indeed; तव (tava) - your; अस्तु (astu) - let it be;]
(Choose another husband quickly, O beautiful lady; because you do not obtain servitude by this Deva. Blameless indeed is sexual conduct among husbands; always in service, let your known (nature) indeed be yours.)
O beautiful lady, quickly choose another husband, for you will not obtain servitude from this Deva. Among husbands, sexual conduct is indeed blameless; let your known nature of always being in service be yours. (2-63-3)
पराजितो नकुलो भीमसेनो; युधिष्ठिरः सहदेवोऽर्जुनश्च। दासीभूता प्रविश याज्ञसेनि; पराजितास्ते पतयो न सन्ति ॥२-६३-४॥

(Defeated are Nakula, Bhīmasena, Yudhiṣṭhira, Sahadeva, and Arjuna; become a servant, enter, O daughter of Yajñasena; your husbands are defeated, they are not (your) lords. (2-63-4))
Nakula, Bhīmasena, Yudhiṣṭhira, Sahadeva, and Arjuna have been defeated; O Yājñaseni, become a servant and enter (the house); your husbands are defeated and are no longer your lords. (2-63-4)
प्रयोजनं चात्मनि किं नु मन्यते; पराक्रमं पौरुषं चेह पार्थः। पाञ्चाल्यस्य द्रुपदस्यात्मजामिमां; सभामध्ये योऽतिदेवीद्ग्लहेषु ॥२-६३-५॥
prayojanaṃ cātmani kiṃ nu manyate; parākramaṃ pauruṣaṃ ceha pārthaḥ. pāñcālyasya drupadasyātmajāmimāṃ; sabhāmadhye yo'tidevīdglaheṣu ॥2-63-5॥
[प्रयोजनम् (prayojanam) - purpose; च (ca) - and; आत्मनि (ātmani) - in oneself; किम् (kim) - what; नु (nu) - indeed; मन्यते (manyate) - thinks; पराक्रमम् (parākramam) - valor; पौरुषम् (pauruṣam) - manliness; च (ca) - and; इह (iha) - here; पार्थः (pārthaḥ) - Pārtha (Arjuna); पाञ्चाल्यस्य (pāñcālyasya) - of the son of Pāñcālī; द्रुपदस्य (drupadasya) - of Drupada; आत्मजाम् (ātmajām) - daughter; इमाम् (imām) - this; सभामध्ये (sabhāmadhye) - in the midst of the assembly; यः (yaḥ) - who; अतिदेवीत् (atidevīt) - insulted exceedingly; ग्लहेषु (glaheṣu) - in the games (of dice);]
(And what purpose does he think in himself? What valor, what manliness does Pārtha have here? Of the son of Pāñcālī, of Drupada, this daughter—who in the midst of the assembly was exceedingly insulted in the games (of dice).)
What does he consider his purpose to be? What valor or manliness does Arjuna show here? This daughter of Drupada and Pāñcālī, who was so grievously insulted in the midst of the assembly during the dice game. (2-63-5)
वैशम्पायन उवाच॥

तद्वै श्रुत्वा भीमसेनोऽत्यमर्षी; भृशं निशश्वास तदार्तरूपः। राजानुगो धर्मपाशानुबद्धो; दहन्निवैनं कोपविरक्तदृष्टिः ॥२-६३-६॥
tad vai śrutvā bhīmaseno’tyamarṣī; bhṛśaṃ niśaśvāsa tadārtarūpaḥ। rājānugo dharmapāśānubaddho; dahannivainaṃ kopaviraktadṛṣṭiḥ ॥2-63-6॥
[तत् (tat) - that; वै (vai) - indeed; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; भीमसेनः (bhīmasenaḥ) - Bhīmasena; अत्य्-अमर्षी (aty-amarṣī) - exceedingly indignant; भृशम् (bhṛśam) - greatly; निशश्वास (niśaśvāsa) - sighed; तत्-आर्त-रूपः (tat-ārta-rūpaḥ) - with that distressed appearance; राजा-अनुगः (rājā-anugaḥ) - following the king; धर्म-पाश-अनुबद्धः (dharma-pāśa-anubaddhaḥ) - bound by the fetters of dharma; दहन्-इव (dahan-iva) - as if burning; एनम् (enam) - him; कोप-विरक्त-दृष्टिः (kopa-virakta-dṛṣṭiḥ) - with a gaze turned away in anger;]
(That indeed having heard, Bhīmasena, exceedingly indignant, greatly sighed, with that distressed appearance. Following the king, bound by the fetters of dharma, as if burning, at him, with a gaze turned away in anger. (2-63-6))
Upon hearing that, Bhīmasena, deeply enraged, sighed heavily, appearing greatly distressed. Following the king, bound by the bonds of dharma, he looked at him as if burning, his gaze averted in anger. (2-63-6)

नाहं कुप्ये सूतपुत्रस्य राज; न्नेष सत्यं दासधर्मः प्रविष्टः। किं विद्विषो वाद्य मां धारयेयु; र्नादेवीस्त्वं यद्यनया नरेन्द्र ॥२-६३-७॥
nāhaṃ kupye sūtaputrasya rājan; neṣa satyaṃ dāsadharmaḥ praviṣṭaḥ. kiṃ vidviṣo vādyamāṃ dhārayeyur; nādevīstvaṃ yadyanayā narendra ॥2-63-7॥
[न (na) - not; अहम् (aham) - I; कुप्ये (kupye) - become angry; सूतपुत्रस्य (sūtaputrasya) - of the charioteer's son; राजन् (rājan) - O king; न (na) - not; एष (eṣa) - this; सत्यं (satyaṃ) - truth; दासधर्मः (dāsadharmaḥ) - servant's duty; प्रविष्टः (praviṣṭaḥ) - entered; किं (kiṃ) - what; विद्विषः (vidviṣaḥ) - enemies; वाद्य (vādya) - should speak; माम् (mām) - me; धारयेयुः (dhārayeyuḥ) - should consider; न (na) - not; देवी (devī) - queen; त्वम् (tvam) - you; यदि (yadi) - if; अनया (anayā) - by this (conduct); नरेन्द्र (narendra) - O king;]
(Not I become angry at the charioteer's son, O king; not this is truth, servant's duty has entered. What enemies should speak, me should consider; not queen you if by this, O king.)
O king, I am not angry at the charioteer's son; this is not true, but the duty of a servant has entered me. What would enemies say, how should they regard me? You are not a queen if you act thus, O king. (2-63-7)
वैशम्पायन उवाच॥

राधेयस्य वचः श्रुत्वा राजा दुर्योधनस्तदा। युधिष्ठिरमुवाचेदं तूष्णीम्भूतमचेतसम् ॥२-६३-८॥
rādheyasya vacaḥ śrutvā rājā duryodhanastadā। yudhiṣṭhiramuvācedaṃ tūṣṇīṃbhūtamacetasaṃ ॥2-63-8॥
[राधेयस्य (rādheya-sya) - of Rādheya (Karna); वचः (vacaḥ) - words; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; राजा (rājā) - the king; दुर्योधनः (duryodhanaḥ) - Duryodhana; तदा (tadā) - then; युधिष्ठिरम् (yudhiṣṭhiram) - Yudhishthira; उवाच (uvāca) - said; इदं (idaṃ) - this; तूष्णीम् (tūṣṇīm) - silent; भूतम् (bhūtam) - having become; अचेतसम् (acetasaṃ) - unconscious; ॥२-६३-८॥ (॥2-63-8॥) - (2-63-8);]
(Having heard the words of Rādheya (Karna), then King Duryodhana said this to Yudhishthira, who had become silent and unconscious.)

भीमार्जुनौ यमौ चैव स्थितौ ते नृप शासने। प्रश्नं प्रब्रूहि कृष्णां त्वमजितां यदि मन्यसे ॥२-६३-९॥
bhīmārjunau yamau caiva sthitau te nṛpa śāsane। praśnaṃ prabrūhi kṛṣṇāṃ tvam ajitāṃ yadi manyase ॥2-63-9॥
[भीम-अर्जुनौ (bhīma-arjunau) - Bhīma and Arjuna; यमौ (yamau) - the two sons of Yama (Nakula and Sahadeva); च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; स्थितौ (sthitau) - standing; ते (te) - they; नृप (nṛpa) - O king; शासने (śāsane) - in command; प्रश्नं (praśnam) - question; प्रब्रूहि (prabrūhi) - speak; कृष्णां (kṛṣṇām) - Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī); त्वम् (tvam) - you; अजितां (ajitām) - unconquered; यदि (yadi) - if; मन्यसे (manyase) - you think;]
(Bhīma and Arjuna, the two sons of Yama, and indeed standing in your command, O king; speak the question to Kṛṣṇā, the unconquered one, if you think (so).)
Bhīma and Arjuna, as well as Nakula and Sahadeva, are standing under your command, O king. If you think it proper, ask your question to Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī), the unconquered one. (2-63-9)
एवमुक्त्वा स कौन्तेयमपोह्य वसनं स्वकम्। स्मयन्निवैक्षत्पाञ्चालीमैश्वर्यमदमोहितः ॥२-६३-१०॥
evam-uktvā sa kaunteyam apohya vasanaṃ svakam। smayannivaīkṣat-pāñcālīm aiśvarya-mada-mohitaḥ ॥2-63-10॥
[एवम् (evam) - thus; उक्त्वा (uktvā) - having spoken; सः (saḥ) - he; कौन्तेयम् (kaunteyam) - Kunti's son; अपोह्य (apohya) - having removed; वसनम् (vasanam) - garment; स्वकम् (svakam) - his own; स्मयन् (smayan) - smiling; इव (iva) - as if; ईक्षत् (īkṣat) - looked at; पाञ्चालीम् (pāñcālīm) - Panchali (Draupadi); ऐश्वर्य (aiśvarya) - prosperity; मद (mada) - pride; मोहितः (mohitaḥ) - deluded;]
(Thus having spoken, he, having removed his own garment, as if smiling, looked at Panchali, deluded by the pride of prosperity.)

कदलीदण्डसदृशं सर्वलक्षणपूजितम्। गजहस्तप्रतीकाशं वज्रप्रतिमगौरवम् ॥२-६३-११॥
kadalī-daṇḍa-sadṛśaṃ sarva-lakṣaṇa-pūjitam। gaja-hasta-pratīkāśaṃ vajra-pratima-gauravam ॥2-63-11॥
[कदली (kadalī) - banana plant; दण्ड (daṇḍa) - stem; सदृशं (sadṛśaṃ) - like; सर्व (sarva) - all; लक्षण (lakṣaṇa) - marks; पूजितम् (pūjitam) - honored; गज (gaja) - elephant; हस्त (hasta) - hand; प्रतीकाशं (pratīkāśaṃ) - resembling; वज्र (vajra) - thunderbolt; प्रतिम (pratima) - like; गौरवम् (gauravam) - dignity;]
(Like the stem of a banana plant, honored by all marks, resembling the hand of an elephant, possessing the dignity like a thunderbolt.)

अभ्युत्स्मयित्वा राधेयं भीममाधर्षयन्निव। द्रौपद्याः प्रेक्षमाणायाः सव्यमूरुमदर्शयत् ॥२-६३-१२॥

वृकोदरस्तदालोक्य नेत्रे उत्फाल्य लोहिते। प्रोवाच राजमध्ये तं सभां विश्रावयन्निव ॥२-६३-१३॥
vṛkodaras tad ālokya netre utphālya lohite। provāca rājamadhye taṃ sabhāṃ viśrāvayann iva ॥2-63-13॥

(Vṛkodara, having seen that, having widened his reddened eyes, spoke in the midst of kings to him, making the assembly hear, as if.)
Vṛkodara (Bhīma), upon seeing that, widened his bloodshot eyes and, as if making the whole assembly hear, spoke to him in the midst of the kings. (2-63-13)
पितृभिः सह सालोक्यं मा स्म गच्छेद्वृकोदरः। यद्येतमूरुं गदया न भिन्द्यां ते महाहवे ॥२-६३-१४॥
pitṛbhiḥ saha sālokkyaṃ mā sma gacched vṛkodaraḥ। yady etam ūruṃ gadayā na bhindyāṃ te mahāhave ॥2-63-14॥
[पितृभिः (pitṛbhiḥ) - with the ancestors; सह (saha) - together with; सालोक्यं (sālokkyaṃ) - same world (state of being in the same world); मा (mā) - not; स्म (sma) - indeed; गच्छेत् (gacchet) - should go; वृकोदरः (vṛkodaraḥ) - Vṛkodara (Bhīma, 'wolf-bellied'); यदि (yadi) - if; एतम् (etam) - this; ऊरुं (ūruṃ) - thigh; गदया (gadayā) - with the mace; न (na) - not; भिन्द्यां (bhindyām) - I break; ते (te) - your; महाहवे (mahāhave) - in the great battle;]
(Vṛkodara should not indeed go to the same world together with the ancestors, if I do not break your thigh with the mace in the great battle.)
If I do not break your thigh with the mace in the great battle, Vṛkodara should not indeed attain the same world as the ancestors. (2-63-14)
क्रुद्धस्य तस्य स्रोतोभ्यः सर्वेभ्यः पावकार्चिषः। वृक्षस्येव विनिश्चेरुः कोटरेभ्यः प्रदह्यतः ॥२-६३-१५॥
kruddhasya tasya srotobhyaḥ sarvebhyaḥ pāvakārciṣaḥ। vṛkṣasyeva viniśceruḥ koṭarebhyaḥ pradahyataḥ ॥2-63-15॥
[क्रुद्धस्य (kruddhasya) - of the enraged one; तस्य (tasya) - his; स्रोतोभ्यः (srotobhyaḥ) - from the streams; सर्वेभ्यः (sarvebhyaḥ) - from all; पावकार्चिषः (pāvakārciṣaḥ) - flames of fire; वृक्षस्य (vṛkṣasya) - of the tree; इव (iva) - like; विनिश्चेरुः (viniśceruḥ) - issued forth; कोटरेभ्यः (koṭarebhyaḥ) - from the hollows; प्रदह्यतः (pradahyataḥ) - being burnt;]
(From the streams of the enraged one, from all, flames of fire issued forth, like from the hollows of a tree being burnt.)
From all the streams of his body, as he was enraged, flames of fire burst forth, just as from the hollows of a burning tree. (2-63-15)
विदुर उवाच॥

परं भयं पश्यत भीमसेना; द्बुध्यध्वं राज्ञो वरुणस्येव पाशात्। दैवेरितो नूनमयं पुरस्ता; त्परोऽनयो भरतेषूदपादि ॥२-६३-१६॥
paraṃ bhayaṃ paśyata bhīmasenā; dbudhyadhvaṃ rājño varuṇasyeva pāśāt। daiverito nūnamayaṃ purastā; tparo'nayo bharateṣūdapādi ॥2-63-16॥
[परम् (param) - supreme; भयम् (bhayam) - fear; पश्यत (paśyata) - see; भीमसेना (bhīmasenā) - O Bhīmasena; द्बुध्यध्वम् (dbudhyadhvam) - awaken; राज्ञः (rājñaḥ) - of the king; वरुणस्य (varuṇasya) - of Varuṇa; इव (iva) - like; पाशात् (pāśāt) - from the noose; दैव-इति (daiva-iti) - by fate; नूनम् (nūnam) - certainly; अयम् (ayam) - this; पुरस्तात् (purastāt) - before; परः (paraḥ) - another; अनयः (anayaḥ) - misfortune; भरतेषु (bharateṣu) - among the Bharatas; उपपादि (upapādi) - has arisen;]
(See the supreme fear, O Bhīmasena; awaken from the noose of the king Varuṇa, as if by fate, certainly this misfortune has arisen before among the Bharatas.)
O Bhīmasena, behold the greatest danger; awaken as if from the noose of King Varuṇa. Surely, by fate, this calamity has arisen before among the Bharatas. (2-63-16)
अतिद्यूतं कृतमिदं धार्तराष्ट्रा; येऽस्यां स्त्रियं विवदध्वं सभायाम्। योगक्षेमो दृश्यते वो महाभयः; पापान्मन्त्रान्कुरवो मन्त्रयन्ति ॥२-६३-१७॥

O auspicious one, I grant you a second boon; choose me. My mind indeed wishes to grant; you deserve not just one boon. (2-63-31)

सरथौ सधनुष्कौ च भीमसेनधनञ्जयौ। नकुलं सहदेवं च द्वितीयं वरये वरम् ॥२-६३-३२॥
sarathau sadhanuṣkau ca bhīmasenadhanañjayau। nakulaṃ sahadevaṃ ca dvitīyaṃ varaye varam ॥2-63-32॥
[सरथौ (sarathau) - with chariots; सधनुष्कौ (sadhanuṣkau) - with bows; च (ca) - and; भीमसेनधनञ्जयौ (bhīmasenadhanañjayau) - Bhīmasena and Dhanañjaya; नकुलं (nakulaṃ) - Nakula; सहदेवं (sahadevaṃ) - Sahadeva; च (ca) - and; द्वितीयं (dvitīyaṃ) - second; वरये (varaye) - I choose; वरम् (varam) - boon;]
(With chariots, with bows, and Bhīmasena and Dhanañjaya; Nakula, Sahadeva and the second boon I choose.)
I choose as my second boon Bhīmasena and Dhanañjaya, equipped with chariots and bows, as well as Nakula and Sahadeva. (2-63-32)
धृतराष्ट्र उवाच॥

Dhṛtarāṣṭra said:
तृतीयं वरयास्मत्तो नासि द्वाभ्यां सुसत्कृता। त्वं हि सर्वस्नुषाणां मे श्रेयसी धर्मचारिणी ॥२-६३-३३॥
tṛtīyaṃ varayāsmatto nāsi dvābhyāṃ susatkṛtā। tvaṃ hi sarvasnuṣāṇāṃ me śreyasī dharmacāriṇī ॥2-63-33॥
[तृतीयम् (tṛtīyam) - third; वरया (varayā) - by the chosen (wife); अस्मत्तः (asmattah) - from me; न (na) - not; असि (asi) - you are; द्वाभ्याम् (dvābhyām) - by the two; सुसत्कृता (susatkṛtā) - well-honored; त्वम् (tvam) - you; हि (hi) - indeed; सर्वस्नुषाणाम् (sarvasnuṣāṇām) - of all daughters-in-law; मे (me) - my; श्रेयसी (śreyasī) - most excellent; धर्मचारिणी (dharmacāriṇī) - righteous-conducting (one);]
(You are not the third chosen by me; you have not been well-honored by the two. Indeed, among all my daughters-in-law, you are the most excellent, the one who follows righteousness.)

लोभो धर्मस्य नाशाय भगवन्नाहमुत्सहे। अनर्हा वरमादातुं तृतीयं राजसत्तम ॥२-६३-३४॥
lobho dharmasya nāśāya bhagavannāhamutsahē. anarhā varamādātuṃ tṛtīyaṃ rājasattama ॥2-63-34॥
[लोभः (lobhaḥ) - greed; धर्मस्य (dharmasya) - of dharma; नाशाय (nāśāya) - for destruction; भगवन् (bhagavan) - O revered one; अहम् (aham) - I; उत्सहे (utsahē) - am able; अनर्हा (anarhā) - unworthy; वरम् (varam) - boon; आदातुम् (ādātum) - to accept; तृतीयम् (tṛtīyam) - the third; राजसत्तम (rājasattama) - O best of kings;]
(Greed for the destruction of dharma, O revered one, I am able. Unworthy to accept the boon, the third, O best of kings.)
O revered one, I am able to destroy dharma out of greed. Being unworthy, I am unable to accept the third boon, O best of kings. (2-63-34)
एकमाहुर्वैश्यवरं द्वौ तु क्षत्रस्त्रिया वरौ। त्रयस्तु राज्ञो राजेन्द्र ब्राह्मणस्य शतं वराः ॥२-६३-३५॥
ekam āhur vaiśya-varaṃ dvau tu kṣatrastriyā varau। trayas tu rājño rājendra brāhmaṇasya śataṃ varāḥ॥2-63-35॥
[एकम् (ekam) - one; आहुः (āhuḥ) - they say; वैश्यवरम् (vaiśya-varam) - the boon of a Vaiśya; द्वौ (dvau) - two; तु (tu) - but; क्षत्रस्त्रिया (kṣatrastriyā) - of a Kṣatriya woman; वरौ (varau) - boons; त्रयः (trayaḥ) - three; तु (tu) - but; राज्ञः (rājñaḥ) - of a king; राजेन्द्र (rājendra) - O king; ब्राह्मणस्य (brāhmaṇasya) - of a Brāhmaṇa; शतम् (śatam) - a hundred; वराः (varāḥ) - boons;]
(One they say is the boon of a Vaiśya; two but are the boons of a Kṣatriya woman; three but of a king, O king; of a Brāhmaṇa, a hundred boons.)
It is said that a Vaiśya is entitled to one boon, a Kṣatriya woman to two boons, a king to three boons, O king, and a Brāhmaṇa to a hundred boons. (2-63-35)
पापीयांस इमे भूत्वा सन्तीर्णाः पतयो मम। वेत्स्यन्ति चैव भद्राणि राजन्पुण्येन कर्मणा ॥२-६३-३६॥
pāpīyāṁsa ime bhūtvā santīrṇāḥ patayo mama। vetsyanti caiva bhadrāṇi rājan puṇyena karmaṇā ॥2-63-36॥
[पापीयांस (pāpīyāṁsa) - more sinful; इमे (ime) - these; भूत्वा (bhūtvā) - having become; सन्तीर्णाः (santīrṇāḥ) - having crossed over; पतयः (patayaḥ) - lords; मम (mama) - my; वेत्स्यन्ति (vetsyanti) - will know; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; भद्राणि (bhadrāṇi) - auspicious things; राजन् (rājan) - O king; पुण्येन (puṇyena) - by virtue; कर्मणा (karmaṇā) - by action;]
(Having become more sinful, these my lords, having crossed over, will indeed know auspicious things, O king, by virtuous action.)
O king, these my lords, having become more sinful, having crossed over, will indeed come to know auspicious things through virtuous actions. (2-63-36)
