दमयन्ती ततो दृष्ट्वा पुण्यश्लोकं नराधिपम्। उन्मत्तवदनुन्मत्ता देवने गतचेतसम् ॥०३-५७-१॥
damayantī tato dṛṣṭvā puṇyaślokaṃ narādhipam। unmattavad anunmattā devane gatacetasam ॥03-57-1॥
[दमयन्ती (damayantī) - Damayantī; ततः (tataḥ) - then; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; पुण्यश्लोकम् (puṇyaślokam) - the virtuous-famed; नराधिपम् (narādhipam) - king; उन्मत्तवत् (unmattavat) - like a mad one; अनुन्मत्ता (anunmattā) - not mad; देवने (devane) - in the forest; गतचेतसम् (gatacetasam) - with consciousness gone;]
(Damayantī then having seen the virtuous-famed king, like a mad one, not mad, in the forest, with consciousness gone.)
Damayantī, having seen the virtuous and renowned king in the forest, became as if mad herself, though not truly mad, her mind gone. (03-57-1)
भयशोकसमाविष्टा राजन्भीमसुता ततः। चिन्तयामास तत्कार्यं सुमहत्पार्थिवं प्रति ॥०३-५७-२॥
bhayaśoka-samāviṣṭā rājan bhīmasutā tataḥ। cintayām āsa tat kāryam sumahat pārthivaṃ prati॥03-57-2॥
[भयशोकसमाविष्टा (bhayaśoka-samāviṣṭā) - filled with fear and sorrow; राजन् (rājan) - O king; भीमसुता (bhīmasutā) - the son of Bhīma; ततः (tataḥ) - then; चिन्तयामास (cintayām āsa) - began to ponder; तत् (tat) - that; कार्यं (kāryam) - action; सुमहत् (sumahat) - very great; पार्थिवं (pārthivaṃ) - concerning the king; प्रति (prati) - regarding;]
(Filled with fear and sorrow, O king, the son of Bhīma then began to ponder that very great action concerning the king.)
O king, then the son of Bhīma, filled with fear and sorrow, began to consider that very significant deed regarding the king. (03-57-2)
सा शङ्कमाना तत्पापं चिकीर्षन्ती च तत्प्रियम्। नलं च हृतसर्वस्वमुपलभ्येदमब्रवीत् ॥०३-५७-३॥
sā śaṅkamānā tat-pāpaṃ cikīrṣantī ca tat-priyam | nalaṃ ca hṛta-sarvasvam-upalabhya idam abravīt ॥03-57-3॥
[सा (sā) - she; शङ्कमाना (śaṅkamānā) - suspecting; तत्पापं (tat-pāpaṃ) - that sin; चिकीर्षन्ती (cikīrṣantī) - desiring to do; च (ca) - and; तत्प्रियम् (tat-priyam) - that which was dear; नलम् (nalaṃ) - Nala; च (ca) - and; हृतसर्वस्वम् (hṛta-sarvasvam) - deprived of all possessions; उपलभ्य (upalabhya) - having obtained (seen); इदम् (idam) - this; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - said;]
(She suspecting that sin, desiring to do and that which was dear, Nala and deprived of all possessions, having obtained, this said.)
She, suspecting that sin and wishing to do what was dear, having found Nala deprived of all his possessions, said this. (03-57-3)
बृहत्सेने व्रजामात्यानानाय्य नलशासनात्। आचक्ष्व यद्धृतं द्रव्यमवशिष्टं च यद्वसु ॥०३-५७-४॥
bṛhatsene vrajāmātyānānāyya nalaśāsanāt। ācakṣva yaddhṛtaṃ dravyam avaśiṣṭaṃ ca yadvasu॥03-57-4॥
[बृहत्सेने (bṛhatsene) - O Br̥hatsena; व्रज (vraja) - go; आमात्यान् (āmātyān) - ministers; आनीय (ānīya) - having brought; नलशासनात् (nalaśāsanāt) - from Nala's treasure-house; आचक्ष्व (ācakṣva) - report; यत् (yat) - what; धृतं (dhṛtam) - has been taken; द्रव्यम् (dravyam) - wealth; अवशिष्टं (avaśiṣṭam) - remaining; च (ca) - and; यद् (yad) - what; वसु (vasu) - treasure;]
(O Br̥hatsena, go, bringing the ministers from Nala's treasure-house. Report what wealth has been taken and what treasure remains.)

ततस्ते मन्त्रिणः सर्वे विज्ञाय नलशासनम्। अपि नो भागधेयं स्यादित्युक्त्वा पुनराव्रजन् ॥०३-५७-५॥
tataste mantriṇaḥ sarve vijñāya nalaśāsanam। api no bhāgadheyaṁ syādityuktvā punarāvrajan ॥03-57-5॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; ते (te) - they; मन्त्रिणः (mantriṇaḥ) - ministers; सर्वे (sarve) - all; विज्ञाय (vijñāya) - having learned; नलशासनम् (nalaśāsanam) - rule of Nala; अपि (api) - perhaps; नः (naḥ) - our; भागधेयम् (bhāgadheyam) - fortune; स्यात् (syāt) - might be; इति (iti) - thus; उक्त्वा (uktvā) - having said; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; आव्रजन् (āvrajan) - they returned;]
(Then they ministers all, having learned rule of Nala, perhaps our fortune might be thus having said again they returned.)
Then all those ministers, having learned of Nala's rule, said, "Perhaps our fortune will be (found here)," and so they returned again. (03-57-5)
तास्तु सर्वाः प्रकृतयो द्वितीयं समुपस्थिताः। न्यवेदयद्भीमसुता न च तत्प्रत्यनन्दत ॥०३-५७-६॥
tāstu sarvāḥ prakṛtayo dvitīyaṃ samupasthitāḥ। nyavedayad bhīmasutā na ca tat pratyanandata॥03-57-6॥
[ताः (tāḥ) - they (those, feminine plural); तु (tu) - but; however; सर्वाः (sarvāḥ) - all (feminine plural); प्रकृतयः (prakṛtayaḥ) - representatives; ministers; officials; द्वितीयं (dvitīyam) - second (time); समुपस्थिताः (samupasthitāḥ) - approached; arrived; न्यवेदयत् (nyavedayat) - informed; reported; भीमसुता (bhīmasutā) - the son of Bhīma; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; also; तत् (tat) - that; प्रत्यनन्दत् (pratyanandat) - accepted; agreed to;]
(But all those officials, having come a second time, reported to the son of Bhīma, and he did not accept that.)
However, all the officials came again and informed Bhīma's son, but he did not approve of it. (03-57-6)
वाक्यमप्रतिनन्दन्तं भर्तारमभिवीक्ष्य सा। दमयन्ती पुनर्वेश्म व्रीडिता प्रविवेश ह ॥०३-५७-७॥
vākyam-apratinandantaṃ bhartāram-abhivīkṣya sā। damayantī punar-veśma vrīḍitā praviveśa ha ॥03-57-7॥
[वाक्यम् (vākyam) - word; statement; अप्रतिनन्दन्तम् (apratinandantam) - not reciprocating; not responding; भर्तारम् (bhartāram) - husband; अभिवीक्ष्य (abhivīkṣya) - having looked at; सा (sā) - she; दमयन्ती (damayantī) - Damayantī; पुनः (punah) - again; वेश्म (veśma) - house; home; व्रीडिता (vrīḍitā) - ashamed; bashful; प्रविवेश (praviveśa) - entered; ह (ha) - indeed;]
(The word not reciprocating husband having looked at she Damayantī again house ashamed entered indeed.)
Seeing that her husband did not respond to her words, Damayantī, feeling ashamed, entered the house again. (03-57-7)
निशम्य सततं चाक्षान्पुण्यश्लोकपराङ्मुखान्। नलं च हृतसर्वस्वं धात्रीं पुनरुवाच ह ॥०३-५७-८॥
niśamya satataṁ cākṣān puṇyaśloka-parāṅmukhān। nalaṁ ca hṛta-sarvasvaṁ dhātrīṁ punar uvāca ha ॥03-57-8॥
[निशम्य (niśamya) - having heard; सततं (satataṁ) - constantly; चाक्षान् (cākṣān) - the dice; पुण्यश्लोकपराङ्मुखान् (puṇyaśloka-parāṅmukhān) - turned away from the virtuous one (Nala); नलं (nalaṁ) - Nala; च (ca) - and; हृतसर्वस्वं (hṛta-sarvasvaṁ) - one whose all was taken (deprived of all); धात्रीं (dhātrīṁ) - the nurse; पुनः (punar) - again; उवाच (uvāca) - said; ह (ha) - indeed;]
(Having heard constantly the dice turned away from the virtuous one, and Nala, deprived of all, the nurse again indeed said.)
Having constantly heard that the dice turned away from the virtuous Nala, who was deprived of everything, the nurse again said.
बृहत्सेने पुनर्गच्छ वार्ष्णेयं नलशासनात्। सूतमानय कल्याणि महत्कार्यमुपस्थितम् ॥०३-५७-९॥
bṛhatsene punargaccha vārṣṇeyaṃ nalaśāsanāt। sūtamānaya kalyāṇi mahatkāryamupasthitam ॥03-57-9॥
[बृहत्सेने (bṛhatsene) - O Brhatsena; (a proper noun, address form); पुनः (punaḥ) - again; गच्छ (gaccha) - go; वार्ष्णेयं (vārṣṇeyam) - to Vārṣṇeya; (a proper noun, dative singular); नलशासनात् (nalaśāsanāt) - from Nala's command; (from the order of Nala); सूतम् (sūtam) - the charioteer; आनय (ānaya) - bring; कल्याणि (kalyāṇi) - O auspicious one; (address to a woman, vocative); महत् (mahat) - great; कार्यं (kāryam) - task; work; उपस्थितम् (upasthitam) - has arisen; has arrived;]
(O Brhatsena, go again to Vārṣṇeya at Nala's command. O auspicious one, bring the charioteer; a great task has arisen. (03-57-9))
O Brhatsena, at Nala's command, go again to Vārṣṇeya. O fortunate one, bring the charioteer, for an important task has come up. (03-57-9)
बृहत्सेना तु तच्छ्रुत्वा दमयन्त्याः प्रभाषितम्। वार्ष्णेयमानयामास पुरुषैराप्तकारिभिः ॥०३-५७-१०॥
bṛhatsenā tu tac chrutvā damayantyāḥ prabhāṣitam। vārṣṇeyam ānayām āsa puruṣair āptakāribhiḥ ॥03-57-10॥
[बृहत्सेना (bṛhatsenā) - Bṛhatsenā (proper name, feminine); तु (tu) - but; however; तत् (tat) - that; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; दमयन्त्याः (damayantyāḥ) - of Damayantī; प्रभाषितम् (prabhāṣitam) - spoken (words); वार्ष्णेयम् (vārṣṇeyam) - Vārṣṇeya (proper name, masculine); आनयाम् (ānayām) - to bring; आस (āsa) - caused; पुरुषैः (puruṣaiḥ) - by men; आप्तकारिभिः (āptakāribhiḥ) - trustworthy doers;]
(Bṛhatsenā but having heard that spoken by Damayantī, caused Vārṣṇeya to be brought by men who are trustworthy doers.)
But Bṛhatsenā, having heard those words of Damayantī, had Vārṣṇeya brought by trustworthy attendants. (03-57-10)
वार्ष्णेयं तु ततो भैमी सान्त्वयञ्श्लक्ष्णया गिरा। उवाच देशकालज्ञा प्राप्तकालमनिन्दिता ॥०३-५७-११॥
vārṣṇeyaṁ tu tato bhaimī sāntvayan ślakṣṇayā girā। uvāca deśa-kāla-jñā prāpta-kālam aninditā॥03-57-11॥
[वार्ष्णेयं (vārṣṇeyam) - descendant of Vṛṣṇi; (Arjuna); तु (tu) - but; however; ततः (tataḥ) - then; from that (point); भैमी (bhaimī) - daughter of Bhīma (Draupadi); सान्त्वयन् (sāntvayan) - soothing; consoling; श्लक्ष्णया (ślakṣṇayā) - gentle; pleasing; गिरा (girā) - with speech; with voice; उवाच (uvāca) - she said; spoke; देशकालज्ञा (deśa-kāla-jñā) - knowing proper place and time; प्राप्तकालम् (prāpta-kālam) - at the right time; अनिन्दिता (aninditā) - blameless; faultless;]
(But then Bhīmī, soothing Vārṣṇeya with gentle speech, she said, knowing the proper place and time, at the right moment, blameless.)
But then Draupadi, blameless and aware of the right place and time, gently consoled Arjuna (the descendant of Vṛṣṇi) with soothing words, and spoke at the appropriate moment. (03-57-11)
जानीषे त्वं यथा राजा सम्यग्वृत्तः सदा त्वयि। तस्य त्वं विषमस्थस्य साहाय्यं कर्तुमर्हसि ॥०३-५७-१२॥
jāniṣe tvaṃ yathā rājā samyagvṛttaḥ sadā tvayi। tasya tvaṃ viṣamasthasya sāhāyyaṃ kartum arhasi ॥03-57-12॥
[जानीषे (jāniṣe) - you know; (from √jñā - to know); त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; यथा (yathā) - as; in the way that; राजा (rājā) - king; सम्यग्वृत्तः (samyagvṛttaḥ) - well-conducted; one who behaves properly; सदा (sadā) - always; त्वयि (tvayi) - towards you; तस्य (tasya) - his; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; विषमस्थस्य (viṣamasthasya) - of one situated in difficulty; साहाय्यं (sāhāyyaṃ) - help; assistance; कर्तुम् (kartum) - to do; to render; अर्हसि (arhasi) - you ought; you should;]
(You know as, the king well-conducted always towards you. Of him, you, of one situated in difficulty, help to render, you ought.)
You know how the king has always behaved properly towards you. Now that he is in difficulty, you should help him. (03-57-12)
यथा यथा हि नृपतिः पुष्करेणेह जीयते। तथा तथास्य द्यूते वै रागो भूयोऽभिवर्धते ॥०३-५७-१३॥
yathā yathā hi nṛpatiḥ puṣkareṇeha jīyate। tathā tathāsya dyūte vai rāgo bhūyo'bhivardhate ॥03-57-13॥
[यथा यथा (yathā yathā) - just as; just as; हि (hi) - indeed; नृपतिः (nṛpatiḥ) - king; पुष्करेण (puṣkareṇa) - by the dice; इह (iha) - here; जीयते (jīyate) - is defeated; तथा तथा (tathā tathā) - so also; so also; अस्य (asya) - his; द्यूते (dyūte) - in gambling; वै (vai) - indeed; रागः (rāgaḥ) - attachment; भूयः (bhūyaḥ) - more and more; अभिवर्धते (abhivardhate) - increases;]
(Just as just as indeed the king by the dice here is defeated, so also so also his in gambling indeed attachment more and more increases.)
Just as a king is defeated again and again here by the dice, so also his attachment to gambling increases more and more. (03-57-13)
यथा च पुष्करस्याक्षा वर्तन्ते वशवर्तिनः। तथा विपर्ययश्चापि नलस्याक्षेषु दृश्यते ॥०३-५७-१४॥
yathā ca puṣkarasyākṣā vartante vaśavartinaḥ। tathā viparyayaś cāpi nalasyākṣeṣu dṛśyate॥03-57-14॥
[यथा (yathā) - just as; च (ca) - and; पुष्करस्य (puṣkarasya) - of Puṣkara; अक्षाः (akṣāḥ) - dice; वर्तन्ते (vartante) - move; वशवर्तिनः (vaśavartinaḥ) - under control; तथा (tathā) - so; विपर्ययः (viparyayaḥ) - reversal; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; नलस्य (nalasya) - of Nala; अक्षेषु (akṣeṣu) - in (the matter of) dice; दृश्यते (dṛśyate) - is seen;]
(Just as the dice of Puṣkara move under control, so reversal also is seen in the dice of Nala.)
Just as Puṣkara's dice move under his control, so too a reversal is seen in the matter of Nala's dice. (03-57-14)
सुहृत्स्वजनवाक्यानि यथावन्न शृणोति च। नूनं मन्ये न शेषोऽस्ति नैषधस्य महात्मनः ॥०३-५७-१५॥
suhṛtsvajana-vākyāni yathāvat na śṛṇoti ca। nūnam manye na śeṣaḥ asti naiṣadhasya mahātmanaḥ॥03-57-15॥
[सुहृत् (suhṛt) - friend; स्वजन (svajana) - one's own people; वाक्यानि (vākyāni) - words; यथावत् (yathāvat) - properly; न (na) - not; शृणोति (śṛṇoti) - he hears; च (ca) - and; नूनम् (nūnam) - certainly; मन्ये (manye) - I think; न (na) - not; शेषः (śeṣaḥ) - remains; अस्ति (asti) - exists; नैषधस्य (naiṣadhasya) - of Naiṣadha; महात्मनः (mahātmanaḥ) - of the great-souled one;]
(The words of friend and kinsmen properly not he hears and. Certainly I think not remains exists of Naiṣadha of the great-souled one.)
He no longer listens properly to the words of his friends and kinsmen. Certainly, I think nothing remains now of the great-souled Naiṣadha. (03-57-15)
यत्र मे वचनं राजा नाभिनन्दति मोहितः। शरणं त्वां प्रपन्नास्मि सारथे कुरु मद्वचः ॥०३-५७-१६॥
yatra me vacanaṃ rājā nābhinandati mohitaḥ। śaraṇaṃ tvāṃ prapannāsmi sārathe kuru mad-vacaḥ॥03-57-16॥
[यत्र (yatra) - where; मे (me) - my; वचनं (vacanam) - speech; राजा (rājā) - the king; न (na) - not; अभिनन्दति (abhinandati) - welcomes; मोहितः (mohitaḥ) - deluded; शरणं (śaraṇam) - refuge; त्वां (tvām) - you; प्रपन्नास्मि (prapannāsmi) - I have sought; सारथे (sārathe) - O charioteer; कुरु (kuru) - do; मद्वचः (mad-vacaḥ) - my word;]
(Where my speech, the king, not welcomes, deluded; refuge you I have sought, O charioteer, do my word.)
Where the king, being deluded, does not welcome my words—O charioteer, I have taken refuge in you; please do as I say. (03-57-16)
न हि मे शुध्यते भावः कदाचिद्विनशेदिति ॥०३-५७-१६॥
na hi me śudhyate bhāvaḥ kadācid vinaśed iti ॥03-57-16॥
[न (na) - not; हि (hi) - indeed; मे (me) - my; शुध्यते (śudhyate) - is purified; भावः (bhāvaḥ) - disposition; कदाचित् (kadācit) - at any time; विनशेत् (vinaśet) - perishes; इति (iti) - so;]
(Not indeed my disposition is purified at any time perishes so.)
Indeed, my disposition is never purified by the thought, "may it perish at any time." (03-57-16)
नलस्य दयितानश्वान्योजयित्वा महाजवान्। इदमारोप्य मिथुनं कुण्डिनं यातुमर्हसि ॥०३-५७-१७॥
nalasya dayitānaśvānyojayitvā mahājavān। idamāropya mithunaṃ kuṇḍinaṃ yātumarhasi ॥03-57-17॥
[नलस्य (nalasya) - of Nala; दयितान् (dayitān) - dear; loved; अश्वान् (aśvān) - horses; योजयित्वा (yojayitvā) - having yoked; joined; महाजवान् (mahājavān) - very swift; इदम् (idam) - this; आरोप्य (āropya) - having mounted; placed upon; मिथुनं (mithunaṃ) - the couple; the pair; कुण्डिनं (kuṇḍinaṃ) - to Kuṇḍina; यातुम् (yātum) - to go; अर्हसि (arhasi) - you ought; you should;]
(Of Nala, having yoked the dear horses, very swift, having mounted this couple, to Kuṇḍina to go you ought.)
You should yoke Nala's beloved, very swift horses, mount this couple, and go to Kuṇḍina. (03-57-17)
मम ज्ञातिषु निक्षिप्य दारकौ स्यन्दनं तथा। अश्वांश्चैतान्यथाकामं वस वान्यत्र गच्छ वा ॥०३-५७-१८॥
mama jñātiṣu nikṣipya dārakau syandanaṃ tathā। aśvāṃś caitān yathākāmaṃ vasa vā anyatra gaccha vā॥03-57-18॥
[मम (mama) - of me; ज्ञातिषु (jñātiṣu) - among kinsmen; निक्षिप्य (nikṣipya) - having deposited; दारकौ (dārakau) - the two boys; स्यन्दनं (syandanam) - chariot; तथा (tathā) - also; अश्वान् (aśvān) - horses; च (ca) - and; एतान् (etān) - these; यथा (yathā) - as; कामं (kāmam) - desire; वस (vasa) - you may dwell; वा (vā) - or; अन्यत्र (anyatra) - elsewhere; गच्छ (gaccha) - go; वा (vā) - or;]
(Having deposited the two boys, chariot also, horses and these among my kinsmen, as desire, you may dwell or elsewhere go or.)
You may leave the two boys, the chariot, and these horses with my kinsmen, and then stay as you wish, or go elsewhere if you desire. (03-57-18)
दमयन्त्यास्तु तद्वाक्यं वार्ष्णेयो नलसारथिः। न्यवेदयदशेषेण नलामात्येषु मुख्यशः ॥०३-५७-१९॥
damayantyāstu tadvākyaṃ vārṣṇeyo nalasārathiḥ। nyavedayadaşeṣeṇa nalāmātyeṣu mukhyaśaḥ॥03-57-19॥
[दमयन्त्याः (damayantyāḥ) - of Damayantī; तु (tu) - but; तद् (tad) - that; वाक्यम् (vākyam) - speech; वार्ष्णेयः (vārṣṇeyaḥ) - Vārṣṇeya; नलसारथिः (nalasārathiḥ) - charioteer of Nala; न्यवेदयत् (nyavedayat) - communicated; अशेषेण (aśeṣeṇa) - completely; नलामात्येषु (nalāmātyeṣu) - to Nala's ministers; मुख्यशः (mukhyaśaḥ) - mainly;]
(Of Damayantī but that speech Vārṣṇeya, charioteer of Nala, communicated completely to Nala's ministers mainly.)
But Vārṣṇeya, the charioteer of Nala, communicated Damayantī's words fully and chiefly to Nala's principal ministers. (03-57-19)
तैः समेत्य विनिश्चित्य सोऽनुज्ञातो महीपते। ययौ मिथुनमारोप्य विदर्भांस्तेन वाहिना ॥०३-५७-२०॥
taiḥ sametya viniścit­ya so'­nujñāto mahīpate। yayau mithunam āropya vidarbhāṁs tena vāhinā॥03-57-20॥
[तैः (taiḥ) - by them; समेत्य (sametya) - having met; विनिश्चित्य (viniścit­ya) - having decided; सः (saḥ) - he; अनुज्ञातः (anujñātaḥ) - having been permitted; महीपते (mahīpate) - O king; ययौ (yayau) - he went; मिथुनम् (mithunam) - the couple; आरोप्य (āropya) - having placed; विदर्भान् (vidarbhān) - to Vidarbha; तेन (tena) - by that; वाहिना (vāhinā) - vehicle;]
(By them having met, having decided, he, having been permitted, O king, having placed the couple, went to Vidarbha by that vehicle.)
O king, after meeting and deciding with them, and having received their permission, he placed the couple on that vehicle and went to Vidarbha. (03-57-20)
हयांस्तत्र विनिक्षिप्य सूतो रथवरं च तम्। इन्द्रसेनां च तां कन्यामिन्द्रसेनं च बालकम् ॥०३-५७-२१॥
hayāṃs tatra vinikṣipya sūto rathavaraṃ ca tam। indrasenāṃ ca tāṃ kanyām indrasenaṃ ca bālakam ॥03-57-21॥

The charioteer, having placed the horses, the excellent chariot, and him there, also placed Indrasenā the maiden and Indrasena the boy. (03-57-21)
आमन्त्र्य भीमं राजानमार्तः शोचन्नलं नृपम्। अटमानस्ततोऽयोध्यां जगाम नगरीं तदा ॥०३-५७-२२॥
āmantrya bhīmaṁ rājānam ārtaḥ śocan nṛpam alam. aṭamānas tato'ayodhyāṁ jagāma nagarīṁ tadā ॥03-57-22॥

(Having addressed Bhīma, the king, afflicted, lamenting exceedingly the king, wandering, then, to Ayodhyā, went to the city then.)
Having addressed Bhīma the king, deeply afflicted and lamenting greatly for the king, he wandered and then went to the city of Ayodhyā at that time. (03-57-22)
ऋतुपर्णं स राजानमुपतस्थे सुदुःखितः। भृतिं चोपययौ तस्य सारथ्येन महीपते ॥०३-५७-२३॥
ṛtuparṇaṃ sa rājānam upatasthe suduḥkhitaḥ। bhṛtiṃ copayayau tasya sārathyena mahīpate ॥03-57-23॥
