यदा त्वमन्यतागस्त्यो गार्हस्थ्ये तां क्षमामिति। तदाभिगम्य प्रोवाच वैदर्भं पृथिवीपतिम् ॥०३-९५-१॥
yadā tvam anyatāg astyo gārhasthye tāṃ kṣamām iti. tadābhigamya provāca vaidarbhaṃ pṛthivīpatim ॥03-95-1॥
[यदा (yadā) - when; त्वम् (tvam) - you; अन्यता (anyatā) - otherwise; in another manner; अगस्त्यः (agastyaḥ) - Agastya (proper name); गार्हस्थ्ये (gārhasthye) - in the householder's (life); ताम् (tām) - that; (feminine accusative singular); क्षमाम् (kṣamām) - patience; forbearance; इति (iti) - thus; so; (quotation marker); तदा (tadā) - then; अभिगम्य (abhigamya) - approaching; having come near; प्रोवाच (provāca) - said; spoke; वैदर्भम् (vaidarbham) - the one from Vidarbha; (here, referring to Lopamudra); पृथिवीपतिम् (pṛthivīpatim) - king; lord of the earth;]
(When you, otherwise, Agastya, in the householder's (life) that patience (he says) thus. Then, having approached, spoke to the Vidarbha-lady, the king.)
When you, Agastya, in your householder's life acted differently and showed such patience, then approaching, the lord of the earth addressed the lady from Vidarbha. (03-95-1)
राजन्निवेशे बुद्धिर्मे वर्तते पुत्रकारणात्। वरये त्वां महीपाल लोपामुद्रां प्रयच्छ मे ॥०३-९५-२॥
rājan niveśe buddhir me vartate putra-kāraṇāt। varaye tvāṃ mahīpāla lopāmudrāṃ prayaccha me॥03-95-2॥
[राजन् (rājan) - O king; निवेशे (niveśe) - in intention; बुद्धिः (buddhiḥ) - the resolve; मे (me) - my; वर्तते (vartate) - remains; पुत्रकारणात् (putra-kāraṇāt) - because of son (for the sake of a son); वरये (varaye) - I choose (I accept as a boon); त्वाम् (tvām) - you; महीपाल (mahīpāla) - O ruler of the earth; लोपामुद्रां (lopāmudrāṃ) - Lopamudrā; प्रयच्छ (prayaccha) - give; मे (me) - to me;]
(O king, in intention my resolve remains because of (the desire for) a son. I choose you, O ruler of the earth, give Lopamudrā to me.)
O king, my mind is firm on attaining a son. I choose you, O lord of the earth; give Lopamudrā to me. (03-95-2)
एवमुक्तः स मुनिना महीपालो विचेतनः। प्रत्याख्यानाय चाशक्तः प्रदातुमपि नैच्छत ॥०३-९५-३॥
evam uktaḥ sa muninā mahīpālo vicetanaḥ। pratyākhyānāya ca aśaktaḥ pradātum api na aicchat ॥03-95-3॥
[एवम् (evam) - thus; उक्तः (uktaḥ) - having been addressed; स (sa) - he; मुनिना (muninā) - by the sage; महीपालः (mahīpālaḥ) - the king; विचेतनः (vicetanaḥ) - distressed; प्रत्याख्यानाय (pratyākhyānāya) - for rejection; च (ca) - and; अशक्तः (aśaktaḥ) - unable; प्रदातुम् (pradātum) - to give; अपि (api) - even; नैच्छत् (na aicchat) - did not wish;]
(Thus addressed, he, the king, by the sage, distressed, for rejection and unable, to give even, did not wish.)
Thus addressed by the sage, the distressed king was unable to refuse and did not wish even to give. (03-95-3)
ततः स भार्यामभ्येत्य प्रोवाच पृथिवीपतिः। महर्षिर्वीर्यवानेष क्रुद्धः शापाग्निना दहेत् ॥०३-९५-४॥
tataḥ sa bhāryām abhyetya provāca pṛthivīpatiḥ। maharṣir vīryavān eṣa kruddhaḥ śāpāgninā dahet ॥03-95-4॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; स (sa) - he; भार्याम् (bhāryām) - wife (accusative singular); अभ्येत्य (abhyetya) - having approached; प्रोवाच (provāca) - spoke; पृथिवीपतिः (pṛthivīpatiḥ) - lord of the earth; king; महर्षिः (maharṣiḥ) - great sage; वीर्यवान् (vīryavān) - mighty; possessing strength; एषः (eṣaḥ) - this; he; क्रुद्धः (kruddhaḥ) - angered; शापाग्निना (śāpāgninā) - by the fire of a curse; दहेत् (dahet) - may burn; destroy;]
(Then he, having approached (his) wife, the lord of the earth spoke: "This great sage, mighty, angered, may burn (us) by the fire of a curse." (03-95-4))
Then the king, having approached his wife, said: "This powerful great sage, being angry, may burn us with the fire of his curse." (03-95-4)
तं तथा दुःखितं दृष्ट्वा सभार्यं पृथिवीपतिम्। लोपामुद्राभिगम्येदं काले वचनमब्रवीत् ॥०३-९५-५॥
taṃ tathā duḥkhitaṃ dṛṣṭvā sabhāryaṃ pṛthivīpatim। lopāmudrābhigamya idaṃ kāle vacanam abravīt ॥03-95-5॥
[तं (taṃ) - him; तथा (tathā) - thus; दुःखितं (duḥkhitam) - afflicted with sorrow; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; सभार्यं (sabhāryam) - with his wife; पृथिवीपतिम् (pṛthivīpatim) - lord of the earth; king; लोपामुद्रा (lopāmudrā) - Lopamudra; अभिगम्य (abhigamya) - having approached; इदं (idaṃ) - this; काले (kāle) - at the proper time; वचनम् (vacanam) - speech; words; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - spoke;]
(Him thus afflicted with sorrow having seen, with his wife, the lord of the earth; Lopamudra having approached, this at the proper time speech spoke.)
Seeing the king, lord of the earth, so afflicted with sorrow along with his wife, Lopamudra approached and at the proper time spoke these words. (03-95-5)
न मत्कृते महीपाल पीडामभ्येतुमर्हसि। प्रयच्छ मामगस्त्याय त्राह्यात्मानं मया पितः ॥०३-९५-६॥
na matkṛte mahīpāla pīḍām abhyetum arhasi। prayaccha mām agastyāya trāhy ātmānaṃ mayā pitaḥ॥03-95-6॥
[न (na) - not; मत्कृते (matkṛte) - for my sake; महीपाल (mahīpāla) - O king; पीडाम् (pīḍām) - distress; अभ्येतुम् (abhyetum) - to approach (to undergo); अर्हसि (arhasi) - you ought; प्रयच्छ (prayaccha) - grant; माम् (mām) - me; अगस्त्याय (agastyāya) - to Agastya; त्राहि (trāhi) - protect; आत्मानम् (ātmānam) - yourself; मया (mayā) - by me; पितः (pitaḥ) - father;]
(Not for my sake, O king, distress to undergo you ought. Grant me to Agastya, protect yourself by me, father.)
You ought not to endure distress for my sake, O king. Grant me to Agastya; save yourself through me, father. (03-95-6)
दुहितुर्वचनाद्राजा सोऽगस्त्याय महात्मने। लोपामुद्रां ततः प्रादाद्विधिपूर्वं विशां पते ॥०३-९५-७॥
duhitur vacanād rājā so'gaṣṭyāya mahātmane. lopāmudrām tataḥ prādād vidhi-pūrvaṃ viśāṃ pate ॥03-95-7॥
[दुहितुः (duhituḥ) - of the daughter; वचनात् (vacanāt) - at the request; राजा (rājā) - the king; सः (saḥ) - he; अगस्त्याय (agaṣṭyāya) - to Agastya; महात्मने (mahātmane) - to the great-souled; लोपामुद्रां (lopāmudrām) - Lopamudrā; ततः (tataḥ) - then; प्रादात् (prādāt) - gave; विधिपूर्वम् (vidhi-pūrvam) - according to prescribed rule; विशां पते (viśāṃ pate) - O lord of the people;]
(Of the daughter at the request, the king, he, to Agastya, to the great-souled, Lopamudrā then gave, according to prescribed rule, O lord of the people.)
At his daughter's request, the king then gave Lopamudrā to the great-souled Agastya, according to prescribed rule, O lord of the people. (03-95-7)
प्राप्य भार्यामगस्त्यस्तु लोपामुद्रामभाषत। महार्हाण्युत्सृजैतानि वासांस्याभरणानि च ॥०३-९५-८॥
prāpya bhāryām agastyaḥ tu lopāmudrām abhāṣata। mahārhāṇi utsṛjatu etāni vāsāṃsi ābharaṇāni ca ॥03-95-8॥
[प्राप्य (prāpya) - having obtained; भार्याम् (bhāryām) - wife; अगस्त्यः (agastyaḥ) - Agastya; तु (tu) - but; लोपामुद्राम् (lopāmudrām) - Lopamudra; अभाषत (abhāṣata) - spoke; महार्हाणि (mahārhāṇi) - very valuable; उत्सृज (utsṛja) - discard; एतानि (etāni) - these; वासांसि (vāsāṃsi) - clothes; आभरणानि (ābharaṇāni) - ornaments; च (ca) - and;]
(Having obtained his wife, Agastya, but, to Lopamudra, spoke: "very valuable discard these clothes ornaments and".)
But having obtained his wife, Agastya spoke to Lopamudra: "Discard these very valuable clothes and ornaments." (03-95-8)
ततः सा दर्शनीयानि महार्हाणि तनूनि च। समुत्ससर्ज रम्भोरूर्वसनान्यायतेक्षणा ॥०३-९५-९॥
tataḥ sā darśanīyāni mahārhāṇi tanūni ca। samutsasarja rambhorūḥ-vasanāni āyatekṣaṇā ॥03-95-9॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; सा (sā) - she; दर्शनीयानि (darśanīyāni) - beautiful; महार्हाणि (mahārhāṇi) - most precious; तनूनि (tanūni) - bodies; च (ca) - and; समुत्ससर्ज (samutsasarja) - completely cast off; रम्भोरूः (rambhorūḥ) - with thighs like plantain stems; वसनानि (vasanāni) - clothes; आयतेक्षणा (āyatekṣaṇā) - wide-eyed;]
(Then she, the wide-eyed one with thighs like plantain stems, completely cast off her beautiful and most precious bodies and clothes.)
Then that wide-eyed woman, with thighs like plantain stems, relinquished her exquisite and most precious bodies and garments. (3-95-9)
ततश्चीराणि जग्राह वल्कलान्यजिनानि च। समानव्रतचर्या च बभूवायतलोचना ॥०३-९५-१०॥
tataś cīrāṇi jagrāha valkalāni ajināni ca। samānavratacaryā ca babhūva āyatalocanā ॥03-95-10॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; चीराणि (cīrāṇi) - bark garments; जग्राह (jagrāha) - she took; वल्कलानि (valkalāni) - tree-bark clothes; अजिनानि (ajināni) - animal skins; च (ca) - and; समानव्रतचर्या (samānavratacaryā) - engaged in similar austere practice; च (ca) - and; बभूव (babhūva) - became; आयतलोचना (āyatalocanā) - the large-eyed lady;]
(Then bark garments she took, tree-bark clothes and animal skins and; engaged in similar austere practice and became the large-eyed lady.)
Then she took bark garments, tree-bark clothes and animal skins, and the large-eyed lady engaged in the same ascetic practice and became so. (03-95-10)
गङ्गाद्वारमथागम्य भगवानृषिसत्तमः। उग्रमातिष्ठत तपः सह पत्न्यानुकूलया ॥०३-९५-११॥
gaṅgādvāram athāgamya bhagavān ṛṣi-sattamaḥ। ugram ātiṣṭhata tapaḥ saha patnyā anukūlayā ॥03-95-11॥
[गङ्गाद्वारम् (gaṅgādvāram) - to the gate (ford) of the Ganges; अथ (atha) - then; आगम्य (āgamya) - having arrived; भगवान् (bhagavān) - the venerable one; ऋषिसत्तमः (ṛṣi-sattamaḥ) - best among sages; उग्रम् (ugram) - fierce; आतिष्ठत् (ātiṣṭhata) - undertook; तपः (tapaḥ) - austerity; सह (saha) - together with; पत्न्या (patnyā) - with (his) wife; अनुकूलया (anukūlayā) - who was complying;]
(To the gate of the Ganges then having arrived, the venerable best among sages undertook fierce austerity together with his wife who was complying.)
Then, having arrived at the gate of the Ganges, the venerable best among sages undertook intense austerity together with his devoted wife. (03-95-11)
सा प्रीत्या बहुमानाच्च पतिं पर्यचरत्तदा। अगस्त्यश्च परां प्रीतिं भार्यायामकरोत्प्रभुः ॥०३-९५-१२॥
sā prītyā bahumānācca patiṁ paryacarattadā। agastyaś ca parāṁ prītiṁ bhāryāyām akarot prabhuḥ॥03-95-12॥
[सा (sā) - she; प्रीत्या (prītyā) - with affection; बहुमानात् (bahumāṇāt) - with respect; च (ca) - and; पतिम् (patiṁ) - husband; पर्यचरत् (paryacaratt) - served; तदा (tadā) - then; अगस्त्यः (agastyaḥ) - Agastya; च (ca) - and; पराम् (parām) - supreme; प्रीतिम् (prītim) - affection; भार्यायाम् (bhāryāyām) - in wife; अकरोत् (akarot) - made; प्रभुः (prabhuḥ) - the lord;]
(She, with affection and with respect, served husband then. Agastya and supreme affection in wife made the lord.)
She then served her husband with affection and respect. And the lord Agastya felt the highest affection for his wife. (03-95-12)
ततो बहुतिथे काले लोपामुद्रां विशां पते। तपसा द्योतितां स्नातां ददर्श भगवानृषिः ॥०३-९५-१३॥
tato bahutithe kāle lopāmudrāṃ viśāṃ pate| tapasā dyotitāṃ snātāṃ dadarśa bhagavān ṛṣiḥ ॥03-95-13॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; बहुतिथे (bahutithe) - after many lunar days; काले (kāle) - at the time; लोपामुद्रां (lopāmudrām) - Lopamudrā (proper noun, acc. sg.); विशां (viśām) - of men; पते (pate) - O lord; तपसा (tapasā) - by austerity; द्योतितां (dyotitām) - made radiant; स्नातां (snātām) - having bathed; ददर्श (dadarśa) - he saw; भगवान् (bhagavān) - the venerable; ऋषिः (ṛṣiḥ) - sage;]
(Then, after many lunar days, at the time, Lopamudrā, O lord of men, by austerity made radiant, having bathed, he saw, the venerable sage.)
Then, O lord of men, after many days, the venerable sage saw Lopamudrā, radiant through austerity and having bathed. (03-95-13)
स तस्याः परिचारेण शौचेन च दमेन च। श्रिया रूपेण च प्रीतो मैथुनायाजुहाव ताम् ॥०३-९५-१४॥
sa tasyāḥ paricāreṇa śaucena ca damena ca| śriya rūpeṇa ca prīto maithunāyā juhāva tām ॥03-95-14॥
[स (sa) - he; तस्याः (tasyāḥ) - of her; परिचारेण (paricāreṇa) - by service; शौचेन (śaucena) - by purity; च (ca) - and; दमेन (damena) - by self-restraint; च (ca) - and; श्रिया (śriyā) - by splendor; रूपेण (rūpeṇa) - by beauty; च (ca) - and; प्रीतः (prītaḥ) - pleased; मैथुनाय (maithunāya) - for union; आजुहाव (ājuhāva) - he invited; ताम् (tām) - her;]
(He, by her service, by purity, and by self-restraint; by splendor, by beauty, and pleased, for union, invited her.)
He, pleased by her service, purity, self-restraint, splendor, and beauty, invited her for union. (03-95-14)
ततः सा प्राञ्जलिर्भूत्वा लज्जमानेव भामिनी। तदा सप्रणयं वाक्यं भगवन्तमथाब्रवीत् ॥०३-९५-१५॥
tataḥ sā prāñjalir bhūtvā lajjamānevabhāminī। tadā sapraṇayaṃ vākyaṃ bhagavantam athābravīt ॥03-95-15॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; सा (sā) - she; प्राञ्जलिः (prāñjaliḥ) - with joined palms; भूत्वा (bhūtvā) - having become; लज्जमाना (lajjamānā) - ashamed; इव (iva) - as if; भामिनी (bhāminī) - lady; तदा (tadā) - then; सप्रणयम् (sapraṇayam) - with affection; वाक्यम् (vākyam) - word; भगवन्तम् (bhagavantam) - to the illustrious one; अथ (atha) - then; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - said;]
(Then she, having become with joined palms, as if ashamed, the lady, then with affection the word to the illustrious one then said.)
Then she, the lady, standing with joined palms and as if ashamed, affectionately spoke these words to the illustrious one. (03-95-15)
असंशयं प्रजाहेतोर्भार्यां पतिरविन्दत। या तु त्वयि मम प्रीतिस्तामृषे कर्तुमर्हसि ॥०३-९५-१६॥
asaṁśayaṁ prajāhetorbḥāryāṁ patiravindata। yā tu tvayi mama prītistāmṛṣe kartumarhasi॥03-95-16॥
[असंशयं (asaṁśayam) - without doubt; प्रजा-हेतोः (prajā-hetoḥ) - for the sake of progeny; भार्यां (bhāryām) - wife; पतिः (patiḥ) - the husband; अविन्दत (avindata) - found; या (yā) - which; तु (tu) - but; त्वयि (tvayi) - in you; मम (mama) - my; प्रीतिः (prītiḥ) - affection; ताम् (tām) - that; ऋषे (ṛṣe) - O sage; कर्तुम् (kartum) - to make; अर्हसि (arhasi) - you are worthy;]
(Without doubt, for the sake of progeny, the husband found a wife; but that affection which is mine for you, O sage, you ought to make that (return that).)
Without doubt, a husband sought a wife for the sake of progeny. But, O sage, the affection I have for you—you alone should reciprocate that. (03-95-16)
यथा पितुर्गृहे विप्र प्रासादे शयनं मम। तथाविधे त्वं शयने मामुपैतुमिहार्हसि ॥०३-९५-१७॥
yathā pitur-gṛhe vipra prāsāde śayanaṃ mama। tathāvidhe tvaṃ śayane mām-upaitum-iha arhasi॥03-95-17॥
[यथा (yathā) - just as; पितुर्गृहे (pitur-gṛhe) - in the house of (my) father; विप्र (vipra) - O brāhmaṇa; प्रासादे (prāsāde) - in the palace; शयनं (śayanam) - bed; मम (mama) - my; तथाविधे (tathāvidhe) - similarly constituted; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; शयने (śayane) - on the bed; माम् (mām) - me; उपैतुम् (upaitum) - to approach; इह (iha) - here; अर्हसि (arhasi) - you ought;]
(Just as, in (my) father's house, O brāhmaṇa, in the palace, (my) bed (was there); similarly constituted, you ought to approach me on the bed here.)
O brāhmaṇa, just as in my father's house in the palace my bed was (so), even so, you ought to approach me here on such a bed. (03-95-17)
इच्छामि त्वां स्रग्विणं च भूषणैश्च विभूषितम्। उपसर्तुं यथाकामं दिव्याभरणभूषिता ॥०३-९५-१८॥
icchāmi tvāṁ sragviṇaṁ ca bhūṣaṇaiś ca vibhūṣitam। upasartuṁ yathākāmaṁ divyābharaṇabhūṣitā ॥03-95-18॥
[इच्छामि (icchāmi) - I desire; त्वां (tvāṁ) - you; स्रग्विणं (sragviṇam) - garlanded; च (ca) - and; भूषणैः (bhūṣaṇaiḥ) - with ornaments; च (ca) - and; विभूषितम् (vibhūṣitam) - adorned; उपसर्तुं (upasartuṁ) - to approach; यथाकामं (yathākāmam) - as desired; दिव्याभरणभूषिता (divyābharaṇabhūṣitā) - adorned with divine ornaments;]
(I desire you garlanded and adorned with ornaments, to approach as desired, adorned with divine ornaments.)
Adorned with divine ornaments, I wish to approach you, garlanded and decked with ornaments, as I desire. (03-95-18)

na vai dhanāni vidyante lopāmudre tathā mama। yathāvidhāni kalyāṇi pitus tava sumadhyame ॥03-95-19॥
[न (na) - not; वै (vai) - indeed; धनानि (dhanāni) - wealths; विद्यन्ते (vidyante) - exist; लोपामुद्रे (lopāmudre) - O Lopamudra; तथा (tathā) - also; मम (mama) - my; यथाविधानि (yathāvidhāni) - as prescribed; कल्याणि (kalyāṇi) - O auspicious one; पितुः (pituḥ) - of (your) father; तव (tava) - your; सुमध्यमे (sumadhyame) - O slender-waisted one;]
(Not indeed wealths exist, O Lopamudra, also my (wealths), as prescribed, O auspicious one, of your father, O slender-waisted one.)
No, O Lopamudra, I truly have no wealth, nor do I possess the kinds of riches your father's house has, O auspicious, slender-waisted one. (03-95-19)

īśo'si tapasā sarvaṁ samāhartum iheśvara| kṣaṇena jīvaloke yad vasu kiñcana vidyate ॥03-95-20॥
[ईशः (īśaḥ) - lord; master; असि (asi) - you are; तपसा (tapasā) - by austerity; by penance; सर्वम् (sarvam) - all; everything; समाहर्तुम् (samāhartum) - to collect; to gather; to seize; इह (iha) - here; ईश्वर (īśvara) - O lord; क्षणेन (kṣaṇena) - in a moment; instantly; जीवलोके (jīvaloke) - in the world of living beings; यत् (yat) - whatever; वसु (vasu) - wealth; treasure; किञ्चन (kiñcana) - any; whatever; विद्यते (vidyate) - exists; is present;]
(You are the lord by austerity, O lord, here to seize all; in a moment, in the world of living beings, whatever wealth exists.)
You are the lord, O lord, by your austerity you are capable here of gathering all; in a moment, whatever wealth exists in the world of living beings. (03-95-20)

एवमेतद्यथात्थ त्वं तपोव्ययकरं तु मे। यथा तु मे न नश्येत तपस्तन्मां प्रचोदय ॥०३-९५-२१॥
evam etad yathāttha tvaṁ tapovyayakaraṁ tu me। yathā tu me na naśyeta tapas tan māṁ pracodaya ॥03-95-21॥
[एवम् (evam) - thus; एतत् (etat) - this; यथा (yathā) - as; how; अत्थ (attha) - you have said; त्वम् (tvam) - you; तपः (tapaḥ) - austerity; व्ययकरम् (vyayakaram) - causing expenditure; तु (tu) - but; मे (me) - my; यथा (yathā) - so that; तु (tu) - but; मे (me) - my; न (na) - not; नश्येत् (naśyet) - may perish; तपः (tapaḥ) - austerity; तत् (tat) - that; माम् (mām) - me; प्रचोदय (pracodaya) - impel;]
(Thus this as you have said, you, the austerity-expenditure-causing indeed my; so that indeed my not may perish austerity—that me impel.)
This is so as you have said, but what causes the expenditure of my austerity—so that my austerity may not perish—please impel me to do that. (3-95-21)

अल्पावशिष्टः कालोऽयमृतौ मम तपोधन। न चान्यथाहमिच्छामि त्वामुपैतुं कथञ्चन ॥०३-९५-२२॥
alpāvaśiṣṭaḥ kālo'yaṁ ṛtau mama tapodhana। na cānyathāham icchāmi tvām upaituṁ kathaṁcana ॥03-95-22॥
[अल्पावशिष्टः (alpāvaśiṣṭaḥ) - very little remaining; कालः (kālaḥ) - time; अयम् (ayam) - this; ऋतौ (ṛtau) - in the season; मम (mama) - of me; my; तपोधन (tapodhana) - O possessor of austerity; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; अन्यथा (anyathā) - otherwise; अहम् (aham) - I; इच्छामि (icchāmi) - desire; त्वाम् (tvām) - you; उपैतुम् (upaitum) - to approach; to join; कथञ्चन (kathaṁcana) - in any way;]
(Very little time remains in this season for me, O possessor of austerity; and in no other way do I wish to approach you in any manner.)

न चापि धर्ममिच्छामि विलोप्तुं ते तपोधन। एतत्तु मे यथाकामं सम्पादयितुमर्हसि ॥०३-९५-२३॥
na cāpi dharmam icchāmi viloptuṃ te tapodhana। etat tu me yathākāmaṃ sampādayitum arhasi ॥03-95-23॥
[न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; धर्मम् (dharmam) - righteousness; इच्छामि (icchāmi) - I desire; विलोप्तुम् (viloptuṃ) - to destroy; ते (te) - your; तपोधन (tapodhana) - O ascetic (one rich in austerity); एतत् (etat) - this; तु (tu) - but; मे (me) - by me; यथाकामम् (yathākāmam) - as you wish; सम्पादयितुम् (sampādayitum) - to accomplish; अर्हसि (arhasi) - you ought;]
(Not and also righteousness I desire to destroy, your, O ascetic. This but by me as you wish to accomplish you ought. (03-95-23))
O ascetic, I do not wish to destroy righteousness; but as you wish, you ought to accomplish this by me. (03-95-23)

yadyeṣa kāmaḥ subhage tava buddhiyā viniścitāḥ. hanta gacchāmyahaṃ bhadre cara kāmam iha sthitā ॥03-95-24॥
[यदि (yadi) - if; एषः (eṣaḥ) - this; कामः (kāmaḥ) - wish; सुभगे (subhage) - O fortunate one; तव (tava) - your; बुद्ध्या (buddhyā) - by decision; विनिश्चितः (viniścitaḥ) - ascertained; हन्त (hanta) - indeed; गच्छामि (gacchāmi) - I go; अहं (ahaṃ) - I; भद्रे (bhadre) - O auspicious one; चर (cara) - act; कामम् (kāmam) - as you wish; इह (iha) - here; स्थिता (sthitā) - remaining;]

If, O fortunate one, this is your determined wish, then indeed I will go, O auspicious one; do as you wish, staying here. (03-95-24)
