अपश्यत्तत्र पञ्चाली सौगन्धिकमनुत्तमम्। अनिलोढमितो नूनं सा बहूनि परीप्सति ॥०३-१५२-२॥
apaśyattatra pañcālī saugandhikamanuttamam। aniloḍhamito nūnaṃ sā bahūni parīpsati॥03-152-2॥

O night-wanderers, know that I, the beloved lawful wife with flawless limbs, am here, having received only food made of flowers. (03-152-3)
राक्षसा ऊचुः॥

आक्रीडोऽयं कुबेरस्य दयितः पुरुषर्षभ। नेह शक्यं मनुष्येण विहर्तुं मर्त्यधर्मिणा ॥०३-१५२-४॥
ākrīḍo'yaṁ kuberasya dayitaḥ puruṣarṣabha। neha śakyaṁ manuṣyeṇa vihartuṁ martyadharmiṇā ॥03-152-4॥

देवर्षयस्तथा यक्षा देवाश्चात्र वृकोदर। आमन्त्र्य यक्षप्रवरं पिबन्ति विहरन्ति च ॥ गन्धर्वाप्सरसश्चैव विहरन्त्यत्र पाण्डव ॥०३-१५२-५॥
devarṣayas tathā yakṣā devāś cātra vṛkodara। āmantrya yakṣa-pravaraṃ pibanti viharanti ca ॥ gandharvāpsarasaś caiva viharanty atra pāṇḍava ॥03-152-5॥

अन्यायेनेह यः कश्चिदवमन्य धनेश्वरम्। विहर्तुमिच्छेद्दुर्वृत्तः स विनश्येदसंशयम् ॥०३-१५२-६॥
anyāyena iha yaḥ kaścid avamanya dhaneśvaram। vihartum icchet durvṛttaḥ sa vinaśyed asaṁśayam॥03-152-6॥
[अन्यायेन् (anyāyena) - by injustice; by unfair means; इह (iha) - here; in this world; यः (yaḥ) - who; कश्चित् (kaścit) - anyone; someone; अवमन्य (avamanya) - disregarding; insulting; धनेश्वरम् (dhaneśvaram) - the lord of wealth; the wealthy man; विहर्तुम् (vihartum) - to enjoy; to spend freely; इच्छेत् (icchet) - wishes; desires; दुर्वृत्तः (durvṛttaḥ) - wicked; of bad conduct; स (sa) - he; विनश्येत् (vinaśyet) - would perish; would be destroyed; असंशयम् (asaṁśayam) - without doubt; surely;]
(By injustice here, who anyone, disregarding the lord of wealth, to enjoy wishes, wicked (person), he would perish without doubt.)
Whoever, here, by unjust means, wishes to enjoy by disregarding the wealthy man, being of bad conduct, he would certainly perish without doubt. (03-152-6)
तमनादृत्य पद्मानि जिहीर्षसि बलादितः। धर्मराजस्य चात्मानं ब्रवीषि भ्रातरं कथम् ॥०३-१५२-७॥
tamanādṛtya padmāni jihīrṣasi balāditaḥ। dharmarājasya cātmānaṃ bravīṣi bhrātaraṃ katham॥03-152-7॥
[तम् (tam) - him; अनादृत्य (anādṛtya) - disregarding; पद्मानि (padmāni) - lotuses; जिहीर्षसि (jihīrṣasi) - you wish to take; बलात् (balāt) - by force; इतः (itaḥ) - from here; धर्मराजस्य (dharmarājasya) - of Dharmarāja; च (ca) - and; आत्मानम् (ātmānam) - yourself; ब्रवीषि (bravīṣi) - you call; भ्रातरम् (bhrātaram) - brother; कथम् (katham) - how;]
(Him disregarding lotuses you wish to take by force from here; of Dharmarāja and yourself you call brother; how?)
How can you, disregarding him, wish to seize the lotuses by force from here, and call yourself the brother of Dharmarāja? (03-152-7)

राक्षसास्तं न पश्यामि धनेश्वरमिहान्तिके। दृष्ट्वापि च महाराजं नाहं याचितुमुत्सहे ॥०३-१५२-८॥
rākṣasās taṃ na paśyāmi dhaneśvaram ihāntike। dṛṣṭvā api ca mahārājam nāhaṃ yācitum utsahe ॥03-152-8॥
[राक्षसाः (rākṣasāḥ) - rākṣasas; demons; तं (taṃ) - him; न (na) - not; पश्यामि (paśyāmi) - I see; धनेश्वरम् (dhaneśvaram) - the lord of wealth; इह (iha) - here; अन्तिके (antike) - near; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; अपि (api) - even; च (ca) - and; महाराजम् (mahārājam) - the great king; न (na) - not; अहम् (aham) - I; याचितुम् (yācitum) - to beg; उत्सहे (utsahe) - am eager for; am able;]
(Demons him not I see, lord of wealth here near. Having seen even and the great king, not I to beg am able.)
I do not see that lord of wealth, the demons, here nearby. Even having seen the great king, I am not able to beg. (03-152-8)
न हि याचन्ति राजान एष धर्मः सनातनः। न चाहं हातुमिच्छामि क्षात्रधर्मं कथञ्चन ॥०३-१५२-९॥
na hi yācanti rājāna eṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ। na cāhaṃ hātumicchāmi kṣātradharmaṃ kathaṃcana ॥03-152-9॥
[न (na) - not; हि (hi) - indeed; याचन्ति (yācanti) - they beg; राजान (rājān) - of kings; एष (eṣa) - this; धर्मः (dharmaḥ) - duty; सनातनः (sanātanaḥ) - eternal; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; अहं (ahaṃ) - I; हातुम् (hātum) - to abandon; इच्छामि (icchāmi) - wish; क्षात्रधर्मं (kṣātradharmaṃ) - the duty of a warrior; कथञ्चन (kathaṃcana) - in any way;]
(Not indeed do they beg of kings; this duty (is) eternal. Not and I wish to abandon the duty of a warrior in any way.)
Kings indeed never beg; this is an eternal duty. Nor do I wish, in any way, to abandon the warrior's duty. (03-152-9)
इयं च नलिनी रम्या जाता पर्वतनिर्झरे। नेयं भवनमासाद्य कुबेरस्य महात्मनः ॥०३-१५२-१०॥
iyaṃ ca nalinī ramyā jātā parvatanirjhare। neyaṃ bhavanam āsādya kuberaśya mahātmanaḥ ॥03-152-10॥
[इयं (iyaṃ) - this (feminine); च (ca) - and; नलिनी (nalinī) - lotus-pond; रम्या (ramyā) - beautiful; जाता (jātā) - arisen; पर्वतनिर्झरे (parvatanirjhare) - in the mountain spring; नेयं (neyaṃ) - this is not; भवनम् (bhavanam) - the abode; आसाद्य (āsādya) - having attained; कुबेरस्य (kuberasya) - of Kubera; महात्मनः (mahātmanaḥ) - the great-souled;]
(And this lotus-pond, beautiful, has arisen in the mountain spring. This is not the abode having attained of the great-souled Kubera.)
And this beautiful lotus-pond has appeared in the mountain stream; this is not the abode reached of the great-souled Kubera. (03-152-10)
तुल्या हि सर्वभूतानामियं वैश्रवणस्य च। एवङ्गतेषु द्रव्येषु कः कं याचितुमर्हति ॥०३-१५२-११॥
tulyā hi sarvabhūtānām iyaṃ vaiśravaṇasya ca। evaṅgateṣu dravyeṣu kaḥ kaṃ yācitum arhati॥03-152-11॥
[तुल्या (tulyā) - equal; similar; हि (hi) - indeed; surely; सर्वभूतानाम् (sarvabhūtānām) - of all beings; इयम् (iyaṃ) - this; वैश्रवणस्य (vaiśravaṇasya) - of Vaiśravaṇa; च (ca) - and; एवम् (evam) - thus; गतेषु (gateṣu) - having gone; having come to pass; द्रव्येषु (dravyeṣu) - among possessions; in wealth; कः (kaḥ) - who; कं (kaṃ) - whom; याचितुम् (yācitum) - to beg; to request; अर्हति (arhati) - is worthy; deserves;]
(Equal indeed to all beings this (wealth) of Vaiśravaṇa also; thus, among possessions having come to pass, who is worthy to beg from whom?)
This wealth of Vaiśravaṇa also is equal for all beings; thus, regarding wealth as it is, who is worthy to beg from whom? (03-152-11)

इत्युक्त्वा राक्षसान्सर्वान्भीमसेनो व्यगाहत। ततः स राक्षसैर्वाचा प्रतिषिद्धः प्रतापवान् ॥ मा मैवमिति सक्रोधैर्भर्त्सयद्भिः समन्ततः ॥०३-१५२-१२॥
ity uktvā rākṣasān sarvān bhīmaseno vyagāhata। tataḥ sa rākṣasair vācā pratiṣiddhaḥ pratāpavān॥ mā maivam iti sakrodhair bhartsayadbhiḥ samantataḥ॥03-152-12॥
[इति (iti) - thus; उक्त्वा (uktvā) - having spoken; राक्षसान् (rākṣasān) - the rākṣasas; सर्वान् (sarvān) - all; भीमसेनः (bhīmasenaḥ) - Bhīmasena; व्यगाहत (vyagāhata) - entered; ततः (tataḥ) - then; सः (saḥ) - he; राक्षसैः (rākṣasaiḥ) - by the rākṣasas; वाचा (vācā) - by speech; प्रतिषिद्धः (pratiṣiddhaḥ) - opposed; प्रतापवान् (pratāpavān) - the powerful one; मा (mā) - do not; मैवम् (maivam) - not thus; इति (iti) - thus; सक्रोधैः (sakrodhaiḥ) - with anger; भर्त्सयद्भिः (bhartsayadbhiḥ) - by those who were rebuking; समन्ततः (samantataḥ) - all around;]
(Thus having spoken to all the rākṣasas, Bhīmasena entered; then he, the powerful one, was opposed by the rākṣasas with speech; "do not, not thus"—thus by those rebuking with anger all around. (03-152-12))
Having thus addressed all the rākṣasas, Bhīmasena advanced; then he, the mighty one, was opposed by the rākṣasas with words, as they angrily rebuked him from all sides, saying, "Do not, not thus." (03-152-12)
कदर्थीकृत्य तु स तान्राक्षसान्भीमविक्रमः। व्यगाहत महातेजास्ते तं सर्वे न्यवारयन् ॥०३-१५२-१३॥
kadarthīkṛtya tu sa tānrākṣasānbhīmavikramaḥ। vyagāhata mahātejāste taṁ sarve nyavārayan ॥03-152-13॥
[कदर्थीकृत्य (kadarthīkṛtya) - having oppressed; तु (tu) - but; स (sa) - he; तान् (tān) - those; राक्षसान् (rākṣasān) - rākṣasas (demons); भीमविक्रमः (bhīmavikramaḥ) - of terrible valor; व्यगाहत (vyagāhata) - entered; महातेजाः (mahātejāḥ) - greatly powerful; ते (te) - they; तं (taṁ) - him; सर्वे (sarve) - all; न्यवारयन् (nyavārayan) - prevented;]
(Having oppressed but he those rākṣasas of terrible valor entered; greatly powerful they him all prevented.)
But having oppressed those rākṣasas, he of terrible valor entered; yet all those greatly powerful ones prevented him. (03-152-13)
गृह्णीत बध्नीत निकृन्ततेमं; पचाम खादाम च भीमसेनम्। क्रुद्धा ब्रुवन्तोऽनुययुर्द्रुतं ते; शस्त्राणि चोद्यम्य विवृत्तनेत्राः ॥०३-१५२-१४॥
gṛhṇīta badhnīta nikṛntat emaṃ; pacāma khādāma ca bhīmasenam. kruddhā bruvanto'nu yayur drutaṃ te; śastrāṇi codyamya vivṛtta-netrāḥ ॥03-152-14॥
[गृह्णीत (gṛhṇīta) - seize; (you all); बध्नीत (badhnīta) - bind; (you all); निकृन्तत (nikṛntata) - cut off; (you all); इमं (imaṃ) - this; (man); पचाम (pacāma) - we will cook; खादाम (khādāma) - we will eat; च (ca) - and; भीमसेनम् (bhīmasenam) - Bhīmasena; क्रुद्धाः (kruddhāḥ) - angry; (they); ब्रुवन्तः (bruvantaḥ) - saying; अनुययुः (anuyayuḥ) - followed; द्रुतं (drutam) - quickly; ते (te) - they; शस्त्राणि (śastrāṇi) - weapons; च (ca) - and; उद्यम्य (udyamya) - raising (having raised); विवृत्तनेत्राः (vivṛtta-netrāḥ) - with rolling (turned) eyes;]
(Seize, bind, cut off this man; we will cook and eat Bhīmasena. Angry, saying, they quickly followed; and raising weapons, with rolling eyes.)
"Seize him, bind him, cut him down! We will cook and eat Bhīmasena." In anger, uttering these words, they quickly pursued, raising their weapons, their eyes wide with fury. (3-152-14)
ततः स गुर्वीं यमदण्डकल्पां; महागदां काञ्चनपट्टनद्धाम्। प्रगृह्य तानभ्यपतत्तरस्वी; ततोऽब्रवीत्तिष्ठत तिष्ठतेति ॥०३-१५२-१५॥
tataḥ sa gurvīṃ yamadaṇḍakalpāṃ; mahāgadāṃ kāñcanapaṭṭanaddhām. pragṛhya tānabhyapatattaravī; tato'bravīttiṣṭhata tiṣṭhateti ॥03-152-15॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; स (sa) - he; गुर्वीं (gurvīṃ) - heavy; यमदण्डकल्पां (yamadaṇḍakalpāṃ) - like the staff of Yama; महागदां (mahāgadāṃ) - great mace; काञ्चनपट्टनद्धाम् (kāñcanapaṭṭanaddhām) - bound with gold plates; प्रगृह्य (pragṛhya) - having taken; तान् (tān) - them; अभ्यपतत् (abhyapatat) - rushed at; तरस्वी (tarasvī) - mighty; ततः (tataḥ) - then; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - he said; तिष्ठत (tiṣṭhata) - stand still; तिष्ठत (tiṣṭhata) - stand still; इति (iti) - thus;]
(Then he, a mighty one, having taken the heavy great mace like the staff of Yama, bound with golden plates, rushed at them and then said 'Stand still, stand still' thus.)
Then, having seized the massive, great mace resembling the staff of Yama and bound with gold, the mighty one rushed at them and said, "Stand still, stand still." (03-152-15)
ते तं तदा तोमरपट्टिशाद्यै; र्व्याविध्य शस्त्रैः सहसाभिपेतुः। जिघांसवः क्रोधवशाः सुभीमा; भीमं समन्तात्परिवव्रुरुग्राः ॥०३-१५२-१६॥
te taṃ tadā tomara-paṭṭiśa-ādyaiḥ; vyāvidhya śastraiḥ sahasā abhipetuḥ. jighāṃsavaḥ krodha-vaśāḥ subhīmāḥ; bhīmaṃ samantāt parivavruḥ ugrāḥ ॥03-152-16॥
[ते (te) - they; तं (taṃ) - him; तदा (tadā) - then; तोमरपट्टिशाद्यैः (tomara-paṭṭiśa-ādyaiḥ) - with spears, lances, etc.; व्यातिविध्य (vyāvidhya) - having pierced thoroughly; शस्त्रैः (śastraiḥ) - with weapons; सहसा (sahasā) - suddenly; अभिपेतुः (abhipetuḥ) - attacked; जिघांसवः (jighāṃsavaḥ) - desiring to kill; क्रोधवशाः (krodha-vaśāḥ) - overpowered by anger; सुभीमाः (subhīmāḥ) - very terrifying; भीमं (bhīmam) - Bhīma; समन्तात् (samantāt) - on all sides; परिवव्रुः (parivavruḥ) - surrounded; उग्राः (ugrāḥ) - fierce ones;]
(They then, having pierced him with spears, lances, etc., with weapons, suddenly attacked; desiring to kill, overpowered by anger, very terrifying ones, surrounded Bhīma on all sides, fierce ones.)
Then those fierce warriors, desiring to kill, overpowered by anger and extremely terrifying, having thoroughly pierced him with spears, lances, and other weapons, suddenly attacked and surrounded Bhīma on all sides. (3-152-16)
वातेन कुन्त्यां बलवान्स जातः; शूरस्तरस्वी द्विषतां निहन्ता। सत्ये च धर्मे च रतः सदैव; पराक्रमे शत्रुभिरप्रधृष्यः ॥०३-१५२-१७॥
vātena kuntyāṁ balavān sa jātaḥ; śūras tarasvī dviṣatāṁ nihantā. satye ca dharme ca rataḥ sadaiva; parākrame śatrubhir apradhṛṣyaḥ ॥03-152-17॥

teṣāṃ sa mārgān vividhān mahātmā; nihatya śastrāṇi ca śātravāṇām. yathā-apravīrān nijaghāna vīraḥ; paraḥ śatān puṣkariṇī-samīpe ॥03-152-18॥
[तेषां (teṣāṃ) - of them; स (sa) - he; मार्गान् (mārgān) - roads; paths; विविधान् (vividhān) - various; महात्मा (mahātmā) - the great-souled one; निहत्य (nihatya) - having slain; शस्त्राणि (śastrāṇi) - weapons; च (ca) - and; शात्रवाणाम् (śātravāṇām) - of enemies; यथा (yathā) - as; अप्रवीरान् (apravīrān) - those lacking heroes; निजघान (nijaghāna) - he struck down; वीरः (vīraḥ) - the hero; परः (paraḥ) - the other; शतान् (śatān) - hundreds; पुष्करिणी (puṣkariṇī) - lotus-pond; समीपे (samīpe) - near;]
(Of them, he, the great-souled one, various roads; having slain the weapons and of enemies; as those lacking heroes, the hero struck down the hundred others near the lotus-pond.)
He, the great-souled one, having destroyed the weapons of his enemies in various ways, just as a hero strikes down countless foes lacking in valor near the lotus-pond, killed hundreds of his adversaries. (03-152-18)
ते तस्य वीर्यं च बलं च दृष्ट्वा; विद्याबलं बाहुबलं तथैव। अशक्नुवन्तः सहिताः समन्ता; द्धतप्रवीराः सहसा निवृत्ताः ॥०३-१५२-१९॥
te tasya vīryaṃ ca balaṃ ca dṛṣṭvā; vidyābalaṃ bāhubalaṃ tathaiva. aśaknuvantaḥ sahitāḥ samantāḥ; dhatapravīrāḥ sahasā nivṛttāḥ ॥03-152-19॥
[ते (te) - they; तस्य (tasya) - his; वीर्यं (vīryam) - prowess; च (ca) - and; बलं (balaṃ) - strength; च (ca) - and; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; विद्याबलं (vidyābalaṃ) - strength of knowledge; बाहुबलं (bāhubalaṃ) - strength of arms; तथैव (tathaiva) - likewise; अशक्नुवन्तः (aśaknuvantaḥ) - unable; सहिताः (sahitāḥ) - together; समन्ताः (samantāḥ) - all around; द्धतप्रवीराः (dhatapravīrāḥ) - those of lost heroism; सहसा (sahasā) - suddenly; निवृत्ताः (nivṛttāḥ) - turned back;]
(They, having seen his prowess and strength, the strength of knowledge and likewise the strength of arms, being unable, together all around, those of lost heroism, suddenly turned back.)
Seeing his prowess and strength, his knowledge and physical might likewise, all of them together, unable to oppose him, their heroism broken, suddenly retreated. (03-152-19)
विदीर्यमाणास्तत एव तूर्ण; माकाशमास्थाय विमूढसञ्ज्ञाः। कैलासशृङ्गाण्यभिदुद्रुवुस्ते; भीमार्दिताः क्रोधवशाः प्रभग्नाः ॥०३-१५२-२०॥
vidīryamāṇās tata eva tūrṇa; m ākāśam āsthāya vimūḍhasañjñāḥ। kailāśaśṛṅgāṇy abhidudruvus te; bhīmārditāḥ krodhavaśāḥ prabhagnāḥ ॥03-152-20॥
[विदीर्यमाणाः (vidīryamāṇāḥ) - bursting about; तत एव (tata eva) - from there itself; तूर्ण (tūrṇa) - swiftly; मा (mā) - not; आकाशम् (ākāśam) - the sky; आस्थाय (āsthāya) - having resorted to; विमूढसञ्ज्ञाः (vimūḍhasañjñāḥ) - with bewildered consciousness; कैलासशृङ्गाणि (kailāśaśṛṅgāṇi) - Kailāsa mountain peaks; अभिदुद्रुवुः (abhidudruvuḥ) - ran towards; ते (te) - they; भीमार्दिताः (bhīmārditāḥ) - afflicted by Bhīma; क्रोधवशाः (krodhavaśāḥ) - overpowered by anger; प्रभग्नाः (prabhagnāḥ) - utterly shattered;]
(Bursting about from there itself swiftly, not (rather) having resorted to the sky, with bewildered consciousness, the Kailāsa mountain peaks they ran towards; afflicted by Bhīma, overpowered by anger, utterly shattered.)
They, bursting forth from there itself in haste, not taking to the sky but instead, bewildered in mind, ran towards the peaks of Kailāsa; overwhelmed by Bhīma, driven by anger, and utterly broken. (03-152-20)
स शक्रवद्दानवदैत्यसङ्घा; न्विक्रम्य जित्वा च रणेऽरिसङ्घान्। विगाह्य तां पुष्करिणीं जितारिः; कामाय जग्राह ततोऽम्बुजानि ॥०३-१५२-२१॥
sa śakravad-dānavadaityasaṅghān vikramya jitvā ca raṇe'ri-saṅghān। vigāhya tāṃ puṣkariṇīṃ jitāriḥ kāmāya jagrāha tato'mbujāni ॥03-152-21॥
[स (sa) - he; शक्रवत् (śakravat) - like Śakra (Indra); दानवदैत्यसङ्घान् (dānava-daitya-saṅghān) - hosts of Dānavas and Daityas; विक्रम्य (vikramya) - having overcome; जित्वा (jitvā) - having conquered; च (ca) - and; रणे (raṇe) - in battle; अरिसङ्घान् (ari-saṅghān) - groups of enemies; विगाह्य (vigāhya) - having entered; तां (tāṃ) - that; पुष्करिणीं (puṣkariṇīm) - lotus pond; जितारिः (jitāriḥ) - the conqueror of foes; कामाय (kāmāya) - for desire; जग्राह (jagrāha) - he took; ततः (tataḥ) - then; अम्बुजानि (ambujāni) - lotuses;]
(He, like Śakra, having overcome the hosts of Dānavas and Daityas, and having conquered the groups of enemies in battle, having entered that lotus pond, the conqueror of foes, for desire, then took the lotuses.)

tataḥ sa pītvāmṛtakalpam ambho; bhūyo babhūvottamavīryatejāḥ. utpāṭya jagrāha tato'mbujāni; saugandhikāny uttamagandhavanti ॥03-152-22॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; सः (saḥ) - he; पीत्वा (pītvā) - having drunk; अमृतकल्पम् (amṛtakalpam) - like nectar; अम्भः (ambhaḥ) - water; भूयः (bhūyaḥ) - again; बभूव (babhūva) - became; उत्तमवीर्यतेजाः (uttamavīryatejāḥ) - of excellent strength and energy; उत्पाट्य (utpāṭya) - having uprooted; जग्राह (jagrāha) - he took; ततः (tataḥ) - then; अम्बुजानि (ambujāni) - lotuses; सौगन्धिकानि (saugandhikāni) - Saugandhika (fragrant) (lotuses); उत्तमगन्धवन्ति (uttamagandhavanti) - possessing supreme fragrance;]
(Then he, having drunk water like nectar, again became of excellent strength and energy. Having uprooted, he then took lotuses—Saugandhika ones possessing supreme fragrance. (03-152-22))

tatastu te krodhavaśāḥ sametya; dhaneśvaraṃ bhīmabala-praṇunnāḥ. bhīmasya vīryaṃ ca balaṃ ca saṅkhye; yathāvad ācakhyur atīva dīnāḥ ॥03-152-23॥

(Then but they under the control of anger having assembled; Dhaneśvara distressed by Bhīma's strength; of Bhīma energy and strength and in the battle; as it was they related exceedingly dejected.)
Then, however, those men, controlled by anger, having assembled, approached Dhaneśvara, distressed by Bhīma's might; extremely dejected, they told him, as it happened, of Bhīma’s energy and strength in the battle. (03-152-23)
तेषां वचस्तत्तु निशम्य देवः; प्रहस्य रक्षांशि ततोऽभ्युवाच। गृह्णातु भीमो जलजानि कामं; कृष्णानिमित्तं विदितं ममैतत् ॥०३-१५२-२४॥
teṣāṃ vacas-tat tu niśamya devaḥ; prahasya rakṣāṃśi tato'bhyuvāca। gṛhṇātu bhīmo jalajāni kāmaṃ; kṛṣṇānimittaṃ viditaṃ mamaitat ॥03-152-24॥
[तेषां (teṣām) - of them; वचः (vacas) - speech; तत्तु (tat tu) - that indeed; निशम्य (niśamya) - having heard; देवः (devaḥ) - the god; प्रहस्य (prahasya) - having smiled; रक्षांशि (rakṣāṃśi) - the rakṣasas; ततः (tataḥ) - then; अभ्युवाच (abhyuvāca) - spoke to; गृह्णातु (gṛhṇātu) - let (him) take; भीमः (bhīmaḥ) - Bhīma; जलजानि (jalajāni) - aquatic things; कामम् (kāmam) - as he wishes; कृष्णा-निमित्तम् (kṛṣṇā-nimittam) - for the sake of Kṛṣṇā; विदितम् (viditam) - known; मम (mama) - to me; एतत् (etat) - this;]
(Of them speech that indeed having heard, the god, having smiled, to the rakṣasas then spoke. Let Bhīma take aquatic things as he wishes; for the sake of Kṛṣṇā, this is known to me.)
Hearing their words, the god smiled and then spoke to the rakṣasas: 'Let Bhīma take the aquatic things as he wishes; I know this is for the sake of Kṛṣṇā.' (03-152-24)
ततोऽभ्यनुज्ञाय धनेश्वरं ते; जग्मुः कुरूणां प्रवरं विरोषाः। भीमं च तस्यां ददृशुर्नलिन्यां; यथोपजोषं विहरन्तमेकम् ॥०३-१५२-२५॥
tato'bhyanujñāya dhaneśvaraṃ te; jagmuḥ kurūṇāṃ pravaraṃ viroṣāḥ. bhīmaṃ ca tasyāṃ dadṛśur nalinyāṃ; yathopajoṣaṃ viharantam ekam ॥03-152-25॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; अभ्यनुज्ञाय (abhyanujñāya) - having given permission to;, धनेश्वरम् (dhaneśvaram) - Dhaneśvara (Kubera); ते (te) - they; जग्मुः (jagmuḥ) - went; कुरूणाम् (kurūṇām) - of the Kurus; प्रवरम् (pravaram) - best; विरोषाः (viroṣāḥ) - free from anger; भीम् (bhīmam) - Bhīma; च (ca) - and; तस्याम् (tasyām) - in that; ददृशुः (dadṛśuḥ) - they saw; नलिन्याम् (nalinyām) - in the lotus-lake; यथोपजोषम् (yathopajoṣam) - as he pleased; विहरन्तम् (viharantam) - wandering; एकम् (ekam) - alone;]
(Then, having given permission to Dhaneśvara, they, free from anger, went to the best of the Kurus. And Bhīma they saw in that lotus-lake, alone, wandering as he pleased.)
Then, after taking leave of Dhaneśvara, they, free from anger, went to the best of the Kurus. There in the lotus-lake, they saw Bhīma, wandering alone as he pleased. (03-152-25)
