अस्मिन्कलियुगेऽप्यस्ति पुनः कौतूहलं मम। समाकुलेषु धर्मेषु किं नु शेषं भविष्यति ॥०३-१८८-५॥
asminkaliyuge'py asti punaḥ kautūhalaṃ mama। samākuleṣu dharmeṣu kiṃ nu śeṣaṃ bhaviṣyati ॥03-188-5॥

किंवीर्या मानवास्तत्र किमाहारविहारिणः। किमायुषः किंवसना भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-६॥
kiṁ-vīryā mānavās tatra kim-āhāra-vihāriṇaḥ। kim-āyuṣaḥ kiṁ-vasanā bhaviṣyanti yuga-kṣaye॥03-188-6॥

bhaviṣyaṁ sarvalokasya vṛttāntaṁ bharatarṣabha। kaluṣaṁ kālam āsādya kathyamānaṁ nibodha me ॥03-188-9॥

कृते चतुष्पात्सकलो निर्व्याजोपाधिवर्जितः। वृषः प्रतिष्ठितो धर्मो मनुष्येष्वभवत्पुरा ॥०३-१८८-१०॥
kṛte catuṣpātsakalo nirvyājopādhivarjitaḥ। vṛṣaḥ pratiṣṭhito dharmo manuṣyeṣv abhavat purā॥03-188-10॥
[कृते (kṛte) - in the Kṛta (first) age; चतुष्पात् (catuṣpāt) - four-footed; सकलः (sakalaḥ) - entire; complete; निर्व्याज-उपाधि-वर्जितः (nirvyāja-upādhi-varjitaḥ) - free from deceit and limiting conditions; वृषः (vṛṣaḥ) - bull; (symbol of Dharma); प्रतिष्ठितः (pratiṣṭhitaḥ) - established; धर्मः (dharmaḥ) - Dharma; righteousness; मनुष्येषु (manuṣyeṣu) - among men; अभवत् (abhavat) - became; was; पुरा (purā) - formerly; of old;]
(In the Kṛta age, the four-footed, entire, free from deceit and limiting conditions bull — established Dharma — was among men formerly.)

अधर्मपादविद्धस्तु त्रिभिरंशैः प्रतिष्ठितः। त्रेतायां द्वापरेऽर्धेन व्यामिश्रो धर्म उच्यते ॥०३-१८८-११॥
adharmapādaviddhastu tribhiraṁśaiḥ pratiṣṭhitaḥ. tretāyāṁ dvāpare'rdhena vyāmiśro dharma ucyate ॥03-188-11॥
[अधर्मपादविद्धः (adharmapādaviddhaḥ) - afflicted by (possessing) the feet of adharma; (i.e., having portions of unrighteousness;) तु (tu) - but; त्रिभिः (tribhiḥ) - by three; अंशैः (aṁśaiḥ) - parts; प्रतिष्ठितः (pratiṣṭhitaḥ) - established; त्रेतायाम् (tretāyām) - in the Tretā age; द्वापरे (dvāpare) - in the Dvāpara (age); अर्धेन (ardhena) - by half; व्यामिश्रः (vyāmiśraḥ) - intermixed; धर्मः (dharmaḥ) - righteousness; उच्यते (ucyate) - is said;]

त्रिभिरंशैरधर्मस्तु लोकानाक्रम्य तिष्ठति। चतुर्थांशेन धर्मस्तु मनुष्यानुपतिष्ठति ॥०३-१८८-१२॥
tribhiraṁśair adharmaḥ tu lokān ākrāmya tiṣṭhati. caturthāṁśena dharmaḥ tu manuṣyān upatiṣṭhati ॥03-188-12॥
[त्रिभिः अंशैः (tribhiḥ aṁśaiḥ) - with three parts; अधर्मः (adharmaḥ) - adharma (unrighteousness); तु (tu) - but; लोकान् (lokān) - the worlds; आक्रम्य (ākrāmya) - having overcome; तिष्ठति (tiṣṭhati) - remains; चतुर्थांशेन (caturthāṁśena) - with the fourth part; धर्मः (dharmaḥ) - dharma (righteousness); तु (tu) - but; मनुष्यन् (manuṣyān) - humans; उपतिष्ठति (upatiṣṭhati) - attends;]
(But adharma with three parts, having overcome the worlds, remains. But dharma with the fourth part, attends humans.)

आयुर्वीर्यमथो बुद्धिर्बलं तेजश्च पाण्डव। मनुष्याणामनुयुगं ह्रसतीति निबोध मे ॥०३-१८८-१३॥
āyurvīryamatho buddhirbalaṃ tejaśca pāṇḍava। manuṣyāṇāmanuyugaṃ hrasatīti nibodha me ॥03-188-13॥
[आयुः (āyuḥ) (āyuḥ) - life span; वीर्यम् (vīryam) (vīryam) - strength; power; अथ (atha) (atha) - and; moreover; बुद्धिः (buddhiḥ) (buddhiḥ) - intellect; discernment; बलम् (balam) (balam) - physical strength; तेजः (tejaḥ) (tejaḥ) - vital energy; brilliance; च (ca) (ca) - and; पाण्डव (pāṇḍava) (pāṇḍava) - O descendant of Pāṇḍu; मनुष्याणाम् (manuṣyāṇām) (manuṣyāṇām) - of men; of humans; अनुयुगम् (anuyugam) (anuyugam) - with each age; along each yuga; ह्रसति (hrasati) (hrasati) - declines; diminishes; इति (iti) (iti) - thus; निबोध (nibodha) (nibodha) - know; understand; मे (me) (me) - from me;]
(Life span, strength, and intellect, physical strength, and vital energy, O Pāṇḍava, of men with each age declines, thus know from me.)
O Pāṇḍava, know from me that the life span, strength, intellect, physical power, and vitality of humans decline with each passing age. (03-188-13)
राजानो ब्राह्मणा वैश्याः शूद्राश्चैव युधिष्ठिर। व्याजैर्धर्मं चरिष्यन्ति धर्मवैतंसिका नराः ॥०३-१८८-१४॥
rājāno brāhmaṇā vaiśyāḥ śūdrāś caiva yudhiṣṭhira। vyājair dharmaṃ cariṣyanti dharmavaitamsikā narāḥ ॥03-188-14॥
[राजानः (rājānaḥ) - kings; ब्राह्मणाः (brāhmaṇāḥ) - Brahmins; वैश्याः (vaiśyāḥ) - Vaiśyas; शूद्राः (śūdrāḥ) - Śūdras; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; युधिष्ठिर (yudhiṣṭhira) - Yudhiṣṭhira; व्याजैः (vyājaiḥ) - by pretenses; धर्मम् (dharmaṃ) - dharma; चरिष्यन्ति (cariṣyanti) - will practice; धर्मवैतंसिकाः (dharmavaitamsikāḥ) - those who wear the mark of dharma; नराः (narāḥ) - men;]
(Kings, Brahmins, Vaiśyas, Śūdras, and indeed, Yudhiṣṭhira, by pretenses, dharma will practice, those who wear the mark of dharma, men.)
O Yudhiṣṭhira, kings, Brahmins, Vaiśyas and Śūdras—all men who wear the semblance of dharma—will practice dharma by means of pretenses. (03-188-14)
सत्यं सङ्क्षेप्स्यते लोके नरैः पण्डितमानिभिः। सत्यहान्या ततस्तेषामायुरल्पं भविष्यति ॥०३-१८८-१५॥
satyaṃ saṅkṣepsyate loke naraiḥ paṇḍitamānibhiḥ। satyahānyā tatasteṣām āyur alpaṃ bhaviṣyati॥03-188-15॥
[सत्यं (satyaṃ) - truth; सङ्क्षेप्स्यते (saṅkṣepsyate) - is abridged; लोके (loke) - in the world; नरैः (naraiḥ) - by men; पण्डितमानिभिः (paṇḍitamānibhiḥ) - by those who fancy themselves wise; सत्यहान्या (satyahānyā) - by depriving of truth; तातः (tataḥ) - therefore; तेषाम् (teṣām) - their; आयुः (āyuḥ) - lifespan; अल्पं (alpaṃ) - small; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will be;]
(Truth is abridged in the world by men who fancy themselves wise. By depriving of truth, therefore, their lifespan will be small.)
In the world, those who think themselves wise abridge the truth. Therefore, because of their abandonment of truth, their lifespan will become short. (03-188-15)
आयुषः प्रक्षयाद्विद्यां न शक्ष्यन्त्युपशिक्षितुम्। विद्याहीनानविज्ञानाल्लोभोऽप्यभिभविष्यति ॥०३-१८८-१६॥
āyuṣaḥ prakṣayād vidyāṃ na śakṣyanty upaśikṣitum। vidyā-hīnān avijñānāl lobho'py abhibhaviṣyati ॥03-188-16॥
[आयुषः (āyuṣaḥ) - of life; प्रक्षयात् (prakṣayāt) - from loss; विद्याम् (vidyām) - knowledge; न (na) - not; शक्ष्यन्ति (śakṣyanti) - they will be able; उपशिक्षितुम् (upaśikṣitum) - to learn; विद्याहीनान् (vidyā-hīnān) - those devoid of knowledge; अविज्ञानात् (avijñānāt) - from lack of discernment; लोभः (lobhaḥ) - greed; अपि (api) - also; अभिभविष्यति (abhibhaviṣyati) - will overcome;]
(From the loss of life, they will not be able to learn knowledge. Greed also will overcome those devoid of knowledge due to lack of discernment.)
Because of declining life, they will be unable to learn knowledge; and those who lack knowledge, due to absence of discernment, will also be overcome by greed. (03-188-16)
लोभक्रोधपरा मूढाः कामसक्ताश्च मानवाः। वैरबद्धा भविष्यन्ति परस्परवधेप्सवः ॥०३-१८८-१७॥
lobhakrodhaparā mūḍhāḥ kāmasaktāś ca mānavāḥ। vairabaddhā bhaviṣyanti parasparavadhepsavaḥ॥03-188-17॥
[लोभक्रोधपरा (lobhakrodhaparā) - devoted to greed and anger; मूढाः (mūḍhāḥ) - deluded; कामसक्ताः (kāmasaktāḥ) - attached to desire; च (ca) - and; मानवाः (mānavāḥ) - humans; वैरबद्धाः (vairabaddhāḥ) - bound by enmity; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - they will become; परस्परवधेप्सवः (parasparavadhepsavaḥ) - desiring mutual destruction;]
(Humans devoted to greed and anger, deluded, attached to desire, and bound by enmity, will become desiring mutual destruction.)
Deluded humans, devoted to greed and anger, attached to desire, and bound by enmity, will seek to destroy one another. (03-188-17)
ब्राह्मणाः क्षत्रिया वैश्याः सङ्कीर्यन्तः परस्परम्। शूद्रतुल्या भविष्यन्ति तपःसत्यविवर्जिताः ॥०३-१८८-१८॥
brāhmaṇāḥ kṣatriyā vaiśyāḥ saṅkīryantaḥ parasparam। śūdratulyā bhaviṣyanti tapaḥ-satya-vivarjitāḥ ॥03-188-18॥
[ब्राह्मणाः (brāhmaṇāḥ) - brāhmaṇas; क्षत्रियाः (kṣatriyāḥ) - kṣatriyas; वैश्याः (vaiśyāḥ) - vaiśyas; सङ्कीर्यन्तः (saṅkīryantaḥ) - becoming intermingled; परस्परम् (parasparam) - with each other; शूद्रतुल्याः (śūdratulyāḥ) - similar to śūdras; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - they will become; तपःसत्यविवर्जिताः (tapaḥ-satya-vivarjitāḥ) - devoid of austerity and truthfulness;]
(Brāhmaṇas, kṣatriyas, vaiśyas, intermingled with each other, like śūdras, they will become, devoid of austerity and truthfulness.)
Brāhmaṇas, kṣatriyas, and vaiśyas, becoming mingled with one another, will become like śūdras, devoid of austerity and truthfulness. (03-188-18)
अन्त्या मध्या भविष्यन्ति मध्याश्चान्तावसायिनः। ईदृशो भविता लोको युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-१९॥
antyā madhyā bhaviṣyanti madhyāś cāntāvasāyinaḥ। īdṛśo bhavitā loko yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-19॥
[अन्त्याः (antyāḥ) - final ones; those at the end; मध्याः (madhyāḥ) - middle ones; those in the middle; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; मध्याः (madhyāḥ) - middle ones; those in the middle; च (ca) - and; अन्त-अवसायिनः (anta-avasāyinaḥ) - ending as the last; those who meet their end as the last; ईदृशः (īdṛśaḥ) - such as this; of this kind; भविता (bhavitā) - will become; लोकः (lokaḥ) - world; युग-अन्ते (yuga-ante) - at the end of the age; at epoch's end; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when arrived; when approached;]
(The final ones will become the middle ones, and the middle ones (will become) those who end as the last. Such will become the world when, at the end of the age, it arrives.)
At the end of the age, when that time arrives, those who are now last will become the middle, and those who are now in the middle will become those who end last. Such will be the state of the world. (03-188-19)
वस्त्राणां प्रवरा शाणी धान्यानां कोरदूषकाः। भार्यामित्राश्च पुरुषा भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-२०॥
vastrāṇāṃ pravarā śāṇī dhānyānāṃ koradūṣakāḥ | bhāryāmitrāś ca puruṣā bhaviṣyanti yugakṣaye ॥03-188-20॥
[वस्त्राणां (vastrāṇām) - of clothes; प्रवरा (pravara) - the best; शाणी (śāṇī) - made of hemp; धान्यानां (dhānyānām) - of grains; कोरदूषकाः (koradūṣakāḥ) - millets; भार्यामित्राः (bhāryāmitrāḥ) - wife-friends; च (ca) - and; पुरुषाः (puruṣāḥ) - men; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; युगक्षये (yugakṣaye) - at the end of the age;]
(Of clothes the best hempen; of grains, millets; wife-friends and men will become at the end of the age.)
At the end of the age, the best clothes will be made of hemp, millets will be considered grains, and men will be friends of their wives. (03-188-20)
मत्स्यामिषेण जीवन्तो दुहन्तश्चाप्यजैडकम्। गोषु नष्टासु पुरुषा भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-२१॥
matsyāmiṣeṇa jīvanto duhantaś cāpy ajaiḍakam। goṣu naṣṭāsu puruṣā bhaviṣyanti yugakṣaye ॥03-188-21॥
[मत्स्यामिषेण (matsyāmiṣeṇa) - with fish and meat; जीवन्तः (jīvantaḥ) - living; दुहन्तः (duhantaḥ) - milking; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; अजैडकम् (ajaiḍakam) - from goats and sheep; गोषु (goṣu) - when cows; नष्टासु (naṣṭāsu) - are destroyed; पुरुषाः (puruṣāḥ) - men; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; युगक्षये (yugakṣaye) - at the end of the age;]
(With fish and meat living, milking also from goats and sheep; when cows are destroyed, men will become at the end of the age.)
At the end of the age, when cows are destroyed, men will live on fish and meat and will also milk goats and sheep. (03-188-21)
अन्योन्यं परिमुष्णन्तो हिंसयन्तश्च मानवाः। अजपा नास्तिकाः स्तेना भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-२२॥
anyonyaṃ parimuṣṇanto hiṃsayantaś ca mānavāḥ. ajapā nāstikāḥ stenā bhaviṣyanti yugakṣaye ॥03-188-22॥
[अन्योन्यं (anyonyaṃ) - one another; परिमुष्णन्तः (parimuṣṇantaḥ) - plundering; हिंसयन्तः (hiṃsayantaḥ) - hurting; च (ca) - and; मानवाः (mānavāḥ) - human beings; अजपाः (ajapāḥ) - not reciting (sacred formulas); नास्तिकाः (nāstikāḥ) - atheists; स्तेनाः (stenāḥ) - thieves; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; युगक्षये (yugakṣaye) - at the end of the age;]
(One another plundering, hurting and human beings; not reciting (sacred formulas), atheists, thieves will become at the end of the age.)
At the end of the age, people will plunder and harm one another; they will become those who do not recite (sacred formulas), atheists, and thieves. (03-188-22)
सरित्तीरेषु कुद्दालैर्वापयिष्यन्ति चौषधीः। ताश्चाप्यल्पफलास्तेषां भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-२३॥
sarittīreṣu kuddālair vāpayiṣyanti cauṣadhīḥ. tāś cāpy alpaphalās teṣāṃ bhaviṣyanti yugakṣaye ॥03-188-23॥
[सरित्-तीरेषु (sarit-tīreṣu) - on river banks; in the banks of rivers; कुद्दालैः (kuddālaiḥ) - with hoes; by means of spades; वापयिष्यन्ति (vāpayiṣyanti) - they will sow; च (ca) - and; औषधीः (auṣadhīḥ) - medicinal herbs; ताः (tāḥ) - those; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; अल्पफलाः (alpaphalāḥ) - of small yield; yielding little result; तेषाम् (teṣām) - of them; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will be; युगक्षये (yugakṣaye) - at the end of the age; in the decline of the era;]
(On river banks, with hoes they will sow medicinal herbs, and those also of small yield of them will be in the decline of the era.)
At the end of the age, people will sow medicinal herbs on river banks using hoes, but even those will yield little for them. (03-188-23)
श्राद्धे दैवे च पुरुषा ये च नित्यं धृतव्रताः। तेऽपि लोभसमायुक्ता भोक्ष्यन्तीह परस्परम् ॥०३-१८८-२४॥
śrād'dhe daive ca puruṣā ye ca nityaṃ dhṛtavratāḥ। te'pi lobhasamāyuktā bhokṣyantīha parasparam ॥03-188-24॥
[श्राद्धे (śrād'dhe) - at a śrāddha ceremony; दैवे (daive) - at a divine (sacrifice); च (ca) - and; पुरुषा (puruṣāḥ) - men; ये (ye) - who; च (ca) - and; नित्यं (nityaṃ) - always; धृतव्रताः (dhṛtavratāḥ) - firm in vows; ते (te) - they; अपि (api) - also; लोभसमायुक्ताः (lobhasamāyuktāḥ) - joined with greed; भोक्ष्यन्ति (bhokṣyanti) - will eat; इह (iha) - here; परस्परम् (parasparam) - one another;]
(At a śrāddha ceremony, at a divine sacrifice and men who always are firm in vows, they also joined with greed will eat here one another.)
Even those men who always remain firm in vows, participating in śrāddha and divine sacrifices, here too, united by greed, will consume one another. (03-188-24)
पिता पुत्रस्य भोक्ता च पितुः पुत्रस्तथैव च। अतिक्रान्तानि भोज्यानि भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-२५॥
pitā putrasya bhoktā ca pituḥ putras tathaiva ca। atikrāntāni bhojyāni bhaviṣyanti yugakṣaye ॥03-188-25॥
[पिता (pitā) - father; पुत्रस्य (putrasya) - of the son; भोक्ता (bhoktā) - enjoyer; eater; च (ca) - and; पितुः (pituḥ) - of the father; पुत्रः (putraḥ) - son; तथैव (tathaiva) - in the same way; likewise; च (ca) - and; अतिक्रान्तानि (atikrāntāni) - having passed; gone by; भोज्यानि (bhojyāni) - things to be enjoyed; food; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will be; युगक्षये (yugakṣaye) - at the end of the age; at the dissolution of the epoch;]
(The father is the eater of the son's (food) and the son likewise of the father's. Things to be enjoyed that have passed will be, at the end of the age.)
The father partakes of his son's food, and similarly the son of the father's. In the end times, things that have been consumed will return at the dissolution of the age. (03-188-25)
न व्रतानि चरिष्यन्ति ब्राह्मणा वेदनिन्दकाः। न यक्ष्यन्ति न होष्यन्ति हेतुवादविलोभिताः ॥०३-१८८-२६॥
na vratāni cariṣyanti brāhmaṇā vedanindakāḥ। na yakṣyanti na hoṣyanti hetuvādavilobhitāḥ॥03-188-26॥
[न (na) - not; व्रतानि (vratāni) - observances; चरिष्यन्ति (cariṣyanti) - will perform; ब्राह्मणा (brāhmaṇāḥ) - Brāhmaṇas; वेदनिन्दकाः (vedanindakāḥ) - disparagers of the Veda; न (na) - not; यक्ष्यन्ति (yakṣyanti) - will perform sacrifices; न (na) - not; होष्यन्ति (hoṣyanti) - will offer oblations; हेतुवादविलोभिताः (hetuvādavilobhitāḥ) - deluded by reasoning or argumentation;]
(Not observances will perform Brāhmaṇas disparagers of the Veda. Not will perform sacrifice, not will offer oblations, deluded by reasoning.)
Brāhmaṇas who disparage the Veda will not perform observances. Deluded by reasoning, they will neither perform sacrifices nor offer oblations. (03-188-26)
निम्ने कृषिं करिष्यन्ति योक्ष्यन्ति धुरि धेनुकाः। एकहायनवत्सांश्च वाहयिष्यन्ति मानवाः ॥०३-१८८-२७॥
nimne kṛṣiṃ kariṣyanti yokṣyanti dhuri dhenukāḥ। ekahāyanavatsāṃś ca vāhayiṣyanti mānavāḥ॥03-188-27॥
[निम्ने (nimne) - in a low (place); कृषिं (kṛṣiṃ) - agriculture; करिष्यन्ति (kariṣyanti) - they will do; योक्ष्यन्ति (yokṣyanti) - they will yoke (to plough); धुरि (dhuri) - to the yoke; धेनुकाः (dhenukāḥ) - female calves; एकहायनवत्सांश् (ekahāyanavatsāṃś) - one-year-old calves; च (ca) - and; वाहयिष्यन्ति (vāhayiṣyanti) - will cause to carry/drive; मानवाः (mānavāḥ) - men;]
(In a low (place) agriculture they will do, they will yoke to the yoke, female calves; one-year-old calves also, will cause to carry, men.)
Men will cultivate agriculture in lowlands, they will yoke female calves to the plough; they will also make one-year-old calves carry loads. (03-188-27)
पुत्रः पितृवधं कृत्वा पिता पुत्रवधं तथा। निरुद्वेगो बृहद्वादी न निन्दामुपलप्स्यते ॥०३-१८८-२८॥
putraḥ pitṛvadhaṃ kṛtvā pitā putravadhaṃ tathā। nirudvego bṛhadvādī na nindāmupalapsyate॥03-188-28॥
[पुत्रः (putraḥ) - son; पितृवधं (pitṛvadham) - the killing of the father; कृत्वा (kṛtvā) - having done; पिता (pitā) - father; पुत्रवधं (putravadham) - the killing of the son; तथा (tathā) - likewise; निरुद्वेगः (nirudvegaḥ) - unperturbed; बृहद्वादी (bṛhadvādī) - one who speaks greatly; न (na) - not; निन्दाम् (nindām) - blame; उपलप्स्यते (upalapsyate) - will obtain;]
(Son, the killing of the father having done; father, the killing of the son likewise; unperturbed, one who speaks greatly, not blame will obtain.)
If a son kills his father, or a father kills his son likewise, one who speaks greatly and is unperturbed does not incur blame. (03-188-28)
म्लेच्छभूतं जगत्सर्वं निश्क्रियं यज्ञवर्जितम्। भविष्यति निरानन्दमनुत्सवमथो तथा ॥०३-१८८-२९॥
mlecchabhūtaṃ jagatsarvaṃ niśkriyaṃ yajñavarjitam। bhaviṣyati nirānandamanutsavamatho tathā॥03-188-29॥
[म्लेच्छभूतं (mlecchabhūtaṃ) - become mleccha; जगत् (jagat) - world; सर्वं (sarvaṃ) - all; निश्क्रियं (niśkriyaṃ) - inactive; यज्ञवर्जितम् (yajñavarjitam) - devoid of sacrifice; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will become; निरानन्दम् (nirānandam) - without joy; अनुत्सवम् (anutsavam) - without festival; अथ (atho) - and; तथा (tathā) - likewise;]
(All the world, having become mleccha, inactive, devoid of sacrifice, will become without joy, without festival and likewise.)
The entire world, having become mleccha, inactive, and without sacrifice, will become devoid of joy, celebration, and all such things. (03-188-29)
प्रायशः कृपणानां हि तथा बन्धुमतामपि। विधवानां च वित्तानि हरिष्यन्तीह मानवाः ॥०३-१८८-३०॥
prāyaśaḥ kṛpaṇānāṃ hi tathā bandhumatām api | vidhavānāṃ ca vittāni hariṣyantīha mānavāḥ ॥03-188-30॥
[प्रायशः (prāyaśaḥ) - generally; कृपणानां (kṛpaṇānāṃ) - of the miserly; हि (hi) - indeed; तथा (tathā) - also; बन्धुमताम् (bandhumatām) - of those who have relatives; अपि (api) - even; विधवानाम् (vidhavānām) - of widows; च (ca) - and; वित्तानि (vittāni) - wealths; हरिष्यन्ति (hariṣyanti) - will take away; इह (iha) - here; मानवाः (mānavāḥ) - humans;]
(Generally, of the miserly indeed, also of those having relatives even, and of widows, wealths will take away here humans.)
Generally, humans here will take away the wealth even of the miserly, those with relatives, and of widows. (03-188-30)
अल्पवीर्यबलाः स्तब्धा लोभमोहपरायणाः। तत्कथादानसन्तुष्टा दुष्टानामपि मानवाः ॥ परिग्रहं करिष्यन्ति पापाचारपरिग्रहाः ॥०३-१८८-३१॥
alpavīryabalāḥ stabdhā lobhamohaparāyaṇāḥ। tatkathādānasantuṣṭā duṣṭānām api mānavāḥ ॥ parigrahaṃ kariṣyanti pāpācāraparigrahāḥ ॥03-188-31॥
[अल्पवीर्यबलाः (alpavīryabalāḥ) - of little strength and energy; स्तब्धाः (stabdhāḥ) - arrogant; लोभमोहपरायणाः (lobhamohaparāyaṇāḥ) - devoted to greed and delusion; तत्कथा (tatkathā) - their talk; दान (dāna) - giving; सन्तुष्टाः (santuṣṭāḥ) - contented; दुष्टानाम् (duṣṭānām) - of the wicked; अपि (api) - even; मानवाः (mānavāḥ) - men; परिग्रहम् (parigraham) - acceptance (of possessions or gifts); करिष्यन्ति (kariṣyanti) - they will do; पापाचारपरिग्रहाः (pāpācāraparigrahāḥ) - engaged in sinful conduct and acceptance (of vice/evil);]
(Of little strength and energy, arrogant, devoted to greed and delusion, contented with just talk of giving, men even of the wicked, they will perform acceptance, engaged in sinful conduct and acceptance.)
Men of little strength and power, arrogant, given over to greed and delusion, satisfied with merely talking about giving, even if they belong to the wicked, will accept possessions, being engaged in sinful practices and acquisition. (03-188-31)
सङ्घातयन्तः कौन्तेय राजानः पापबुद्धयः। परस्परवधोद्युक्ता मूर्खाः पण्डितमानिनः ॥ भविष्यन्ति युगस्यान्ते क्षत्रिया लोककण्टकाः ॥०३-१८८-३२॥
saṅghātayantaḥ kaunteya rājānaḥ pāpa-buddhayaḥ। paraspara-vadha-udyuktā mūrkhāḥ paṇḍita-mānināḥ॥ bhaviṣyanti yugasya-ante kṣatriyā loka-kaṇṭakāḥ॥03-188-32॥
[सङ्घातयन्तः (saṅghātayantaḥ) - coming together; assembling; union; engaged together; कौन्तेय (kaunteya) - O son of Kunti; O Kaunteya; राजानः (rājānaḥ) - kings; पापबुद्धयः (pāpa-buddhayaḥ) - evil-minded; having wicked intellects; परस्परवधोद्युक्ताः (paraspara-vadha-udyuktāḥ) - intent on mutual killing; prepared for destroying each other; मूर्खाः (mūrkhāḥ) - fools; पण्डितमानिनः (paṇḍita-mānināḥ) - proud of wisdom; considering themselves learned; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; युगस्य (yugasya) - of the age; of the era; अन्ते (ante) - at the end; क्षत्रियाः (kṣatriyāḥ) - Kṣatriyas; warrior class; लोककण्टकाः (loka-kaṇṭakāḥ) - thorns of the world; afflictions of the people;]
(Coming together, O Kaunteya, the kings with evil minds, intent on mutual killing, fools proud of wisdom, at the end of the age, the Kṣatriyas will become the thorns of the people.)
O Kaunteya, at the end of the age, kings of evil intellect, assembling together, intent on mutual destruction, fools who think themselves wise, the Kṣatriyas will become the scourge of society. (03-188-32)
अरक्षितारो लुब्धाश्च मानाहङ्कारदर्पिताः। केवलं दण्डरुचयो भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-३३॥
arakṣitāro lubdhāś ca mānāhaṅkāradarpitāḥ। kevalaṃ daṇḍarucayo bhaviṣyanti yugakṣaye ॥03-188-33॥
[अरक्षितारः (arakṣitāraḥ) - without protectors; लुब्धाः (lubdhāḥ) - greedy; च (ca) - and; मान-अहङ्कार-दर्पिताः (māna-ahaṅkāra-darpitāḥ) - inflated with pride, ego, and arrogance; केवलम् (kevalam) - only; दण्डरुचयः (daṇḍa-rucayaḥ) - finding pleasure in punishment; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; युगक्षये (yuga-kṣaye) - at the end of the age;]
(Without protectors, greedy, and inflated with pride, ego, and arrogance, only those who find pleasure in punishment will become at the end of the age.)
At the end of the age, people will be without protectors, greedy, inflated with pride, ego, and arrogance; only those who delight in punishment will prevail. (03-188-33)
आक्रम्याक्रम्य साधूनां दारांश्चैव धनानि च। भोक्ष्यन्ते निरनुक्रोशा रुदतामपि भारत ॥०३-१८८-३४॥
ākramyākramya sādhūnāṃ dārāṃścaiva dhanāni ca। bhokṣyante niranukrośā rudatāmapi bhārata॥03-188-34॥
[आक्रम्य (ākramya) - having attacked; आक्रम्य (ākramya) - having seized; साधूनाम् (sādhūnām) - of the virtuous; दारान् (dārān) - wives; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; धनानि (dhanāni) - wealths; च (ca) - and; भोक्ष्यन्ते (bhokṣyante) - they will enjoy; निरनुक्रोशाः (niranukrośāḥ) - pitiless; रुदताम् (rudatām) - of those weeping; अपि (api) - even; भारत (bhārata) - O Bhārata;]
(Having attacked, having seized, of the virtuous the wives and indeed wealths and, they will enjoy, pitiless, of those weeping, even, O Bhārata.)
O Bhārata, the pitiless will, even as they weep, seize and enjoy the wives and wealth of the virtuous. (03-188-34)
न कन्यां याचते कश्चिन्नापि कन्या प्रदीयते। स्वयङ्ग्राहा भविष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-३५॥
na kanyāṃ yācate kaścin nāpi kanyā pradīyate। svayaṅgrāhā bhaviṣyanti yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-35॥
[न (na) - not; कन्यां (kanyāṃ) - girl (in accusative singular); याचते (yācate) - requests; कश्चित् (kaścit) - anyone; न (na) - not; अपि (api) - even; कन्या (kanyā) - girl (in nominative singular); प्रदीयते (pradīyate) - is given; स्वयङ्ग्राहा (svayaṅgrāhā) - self-taking (those who take for themselves; plural feminine); भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when (it) has arrived;]
(Not a girl is requested by anyone, nor even is a girl given; self-taking they will become when the end of the age has arrived.)
At the end of the age, when the time arrives, no one will request a girl, nor will any girl be given; girls will choose their own partners. (03-188-35)
राजानश्चाप्यसन्तुष्टाः परार्थान्मूढचेतसः। सर्वोपायैर्हरिष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-३६॥
rājānaś cāpy asantuṣṭāḥ parārthān mūḍha-cetasaḥ। sarva-upāyaiḥ hariṣyanti yugānte paryupasthite॥03-188-36॥
[राजानः (rājānaḥ) - kings; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; असन्तुष्टाः (asantuṣṭāḥ) - unsatisfied; परार्थान् (parārthān) - the wealth of others; मूढचेतसः (mūḍha-cetasaḥ) - of deluded minds; सर्वोपायैः (sarva-upāyaiḥ) - by all (kind of) means; हरिष्यन्ति (hariṣyanti) - they will take away; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when present/arrived;]
(Kings and also unsatisfied, the wealth of others, of deluded minds, by all means, will take away, at the end of the age, when arrived.)
At the end of the age, when it arrives, unsatisfied kings with deluded minds will take away the wealth of others by all possible means. (03-188-36)
म्लेच्छीभूतं जगत्सर्वं भविष्यति च भारत। हस्तो हस्तं परिमुषेद्युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-३७॥
mlecchībhūtaṃ jagatsarvaṃ bhaviṣyati ca bhārata। hasto hastaṃ parimuṣed yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-37॥
[म्लेच्छीभूतं (mlecchībhūtaṃ) - become non-Aryan; become barbarian; become impure; जगत् (jagat) - the world; सर्वं (sarvaṃ) - all; entire; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - shall become; will be; च (ca) - and; भारत (bhārata) - O Bhārata (descendant of Bharata; Arjuna/Dhṛtarāṣṭra etc.); हस्तः (hastas) - hand; हस्तं (hastaṃ) - another's hand; परिमुषेत् (parimuṣet) - might rob; might steal; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of an era; at the end of the age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when approached; when arrived;]
(Having become non-Aryan the entire world shall become, and, O Bhārata. Hand might rob hand when the end of the era has approached.)
O Bhārata, the entire world will become impure, and, at the end of the age, when that time arrives, one hand will steal from another. (03-188-37)
सत्यं सङ्क्षिप्यते लोके नरैः पण्डितमानिभिः। स्थविरा बालमतयो बालाः स्थविरबुद्धयः ॥०३-१८८-३८॥
satyaṃ saṅkṣipyate loke naraiḥ paṇḍita-mānibhiḥ। sthavirā bāla-matayo bālāḥ sthavira-buddhayaḥ॥03-188-38॥
[सत्यं (satyaṃ) - truth; सङ्क्षिप्यते (saṅkṣipyate) - is abridged; लोके (loke) - in the world; नरैः (naraiḥ) - by men; पण्डितमानिभिः (paṇḍita-mānibhiḥ) - by those assuming to be wise; स्थविरा (sthavirā) - old; बालमतयः (bāla-matayaḥ) - having childish minds; बालाः (bālāḥ) - children; स्थविरबुद्धयः (sthavira-buddhayaḥ) - having old intellects;]
(Truth is abridged in the world by men assuming to be wise. Old persons with childish minds, children with elderly intellects.)
Truth is condensed in the world by those who think themselves wise: there are the old with childish understanding, and children with the wisdom of the old. (03-188-38)
भीरवः शूरमानीनः शूरा भीरुविषादिनः। न विश्वसन्ति चान्योन्यं युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-३९॥
bhīravaḥ śūramānīnaḥ śūrā bhīruviṣādinaḥ। na viśvasanti cānyonyaṃ yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-39॥
[भीरवः (bhīravaḥ) - cowards; शूरमानीनः (śūramānīnaḥ) - who think themselves heroes; शूराः (śūrāḥ) - heroes; भीरुविषादिनः (bhīruviṣādinaḥ) - fearful and dejected ones; न (na) - not; विश्वसन्ति (viśvasanti) - they trust; च (ca) - and; अन्योन्यं (anyonyaṃ) - one another; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of an era; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when has arrived;]
(Cowards, those who think themselves heroes, heroes, fearful and dejected ones, not they trust and one another when the end of an era has arrived.)
At the end of an era, cowards, those who consider themselves heroes, true heroes, and the fearful and dejected, all do not trust one another. (03-188-39)
एकाहार्यं जगत्सर्वं लोभमोहव्यवस्थितम्। अधर्मो वर्धति महान्न च धर्मः प्रवर्तते ॥०३-१८८-४०॥
ekāhāryaṃ jagatsarvaṃ lobhamohavyavasthitam। adharmo vardhati mahānna ca dharmaḥ pravartate॥03-188-40॥
[एकाहार्यं (ekāhāryam) - easily seized; जगत् (jagat) - world; सर्वं (sarvam) - all; लोभ-मोह-व्यवस्थितम् (lobha-moha-vyavasthitam) - established in greed and delusion; अधर्मः (adharmaḥ) - unrighteousness; वर्धति (vardhati) - grows; महान् (mahān) - great; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; धर्मः (dharmaḥ) - righteousness; प्रवर्तते (pravartate) - operates;]
(All the world is easily seized, established in greed and delusion. Unrighteousness, great, grows and righteousness does not operate.)
The entire world is easily overpowered and is subject to greed and delusion. Unrighteousness greatly increases, while righteousness does not prevail. (03-188-40)
ब्राह्मणाः क्षत्रिया वैश्या न शिष्यन्ति जनाधिप। एकवर्णस्तदा लोको भविष्यति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-४१॥
brāhmaṇāḥ kṣatriyā vaiśyā na śiṣyanti janādhipa। ekavarṇas tadā loko bhaviṣyati yugakṣaye ॥03-188-41॥
[ब्राह्मणाः (brāhmaṇāḥ) - Brāhmaṇas; क्षत्रिया (kṣatriyā) - Kṣatriyas; वैश्याः (vaiśyā) - Vaiśyas; न (na) - not; शिष्यन्ति (śiṣyanti) - will remain; जनाधिप (janādhipa) - O ruler of people; एकवर्णः (ekavarṇaḥ) - one caste/order; तदा (tadā) - then; लोकः (lokaḥ) - the world; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will become; युगक्षये (yugakṣaye) - at the end of the age;]
(Brāhmaṇas, Kṣatriyas, Vaiśyas, not will remain, O ruler of people. One caste then the world will become at the end of the age. (03-188-41))
O ruler of people, Brāhmaṇas, Kṣatriyas, and Vaiśyas will not remain; at the end of the age, the world will become of one caste. (03-188-41)
न क्षंस्यति पिता पुत्रं पुत्रश्च पितरं तथा। भार्या च पतिशुश्रूषां न करिष्यति काचन ॥०३-१८८-४२॥
na kṣaṃsyati pitā putraṃ putraś ca pitaraṃ tathā। bhāryā ca patiśuśrūṣāṃ na kariṣyati kācana॥03-188-42॥
[न (na) - not; क्षंस्यति (kṣaṃsyati) - will forgive; पिता (pitā) - father; पुत्रं (putraṃ) - son (accusative singular); पुत्रः (putraḥ) - son; च (ca) - and; पितरं (pitaraṃ) - father (accusative singular); तथा (tathā) - likewise; भार्या (bhāryā) - wife; च (ca) - and; पतिशुश्रूषाम् (patiśuśrūṣām) - service of the husband; न (na) - not; करिष्यति (kariṣyati) - will do; काचन (kācana) - any (woman);]
(Not will forgive the father the son, and the son likewise (will not forgive) the father. And the wife will not do service of the husband, any woman.)
A father will not forgive his son, nor will the son forgive his father; and no wife will render service to her husband. (03-188-42)
ये यवान्ना जनपदा गोधूमान्नास्तथैव च। तान्देशान्संश्रयिष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-४३॥
ye yavānnā janapadā godhūmānnās tathaiva ca। tān deśān saṁśrayiṣyanti yugānte paryupasthite॥03-188-43॥
[ये (ye) (ye) - who; यवान्ना (yavānnā) (yavānnā) - barley-food; जनपदा (janapadā) (janapadā) - peoples of the country; गोधूमान्नाः (godhūmānnāḥ) (godhūmānnāḥ) - wheat-food; तथैव (tathaiva) (tathaiva) - just so; likewise; च (ca) (ca) - and; तान् (tān) (tān) - those; देशान् (deśān) (deśān) - regions; संश्रयिष्यन्ति (saṁśrayiṣyanti) (saṁśrayiṣyanti) - will take refuge in; युगान्ते (yugānte) (yugānte) - at the end of the age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) (paryupasthite) - when arrived, come near;]
(Who barley-food peoples who wheat-food just so and, those regions will take refuge in at the end of the age when arrived.)
Those peoples living on barley and wheat, they will take refuge in those regions when the end of the age arrives. (03-188-43)
स्वैराहाराश्च पुरुषा योषितश्च विशां पते। अन्योन्यं न सहिष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-४४॥
svairāhārāś ca puruṣā yoṣitaś ca viśāṃ pate| anyonyaṃ na sahīṣyanti yugānte paryupasthite॥03-188-44॥
[स्वैराहाराः (svairāhārāḥ) - self-indulgent in eating; च (ca) - and; पुरुषाः (puruṣāḥ) - men; योषितः (yoṣitaḥ) - women; च (ca) - and; विशां (viśām) - of humans; पते (pate) - O lord; अन्योन्यम् (anyonyaṃ) - each other; न (na) - not; सहिष्यन्ति (sahīṣyanti) - will endure; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when present;]
(Self-indulgent in eating and men and women, O lord of humans, each other not will endure at the end of the age when present.)
At the end of the age, O lord of men, men and women, indulging themselves in food, will not tolerate each other when that time arrives. (03-188-44)
म्लेच्छभूतं जगत्सर्वं भविष्यति युधिष्ठिर। न श्राद्धैर्हि पितॄंश्चापि तर्पयिष्यन्ति मानवाः ॥०३-१८८-४५॥
mlecchabhūtaṃ jagatsarvaṃ bhaviṣyati yudhiṣṭhira। na śrāddhair hi pitṝṃś cāpi tarpayiṣyanti mānavāḥ ॥03-188-45॥
[म्लेच्छभूतं (mlecchabhūtam) - having become mleccha; जगत् (jagat) - the world; सर्वं (sarvam) - all; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will become; युधिष्ठिर (yudhiṣṭhira) - Yudhiṣṭhira; न (na) - not; श्राद्धैः (śrāddhaiḥ) - by śrāddha (ancestral rituals); हि (hi) - indeed; पितॄन् (pitṝn) - the ancestors; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; तर्पयिष्यन्ति (tarpayiṣyanti) - will satisfy; मानवाः (mānavāḥ) - men;]
(Having become mleccha, all the world will become, O Yudhiṣṭhira. Not by śrāddhas indeed the ancestors also will men satisfy.)
O Yudhiṣṭhira, all the world will become mleccha; men will no longer satisfy their ancestors even by śrāddha rituals. (03-188-45)
न कश्चित्कस्यचिच्छ्रोता न कश्चित्कस्यचिद्गुरुः। तमोग्रस्तस्तदा लोको भविष्यति नराधिप ॥०३-१८८-४६॥
na kaścit kasyacit śrotā na kaścit kasyacid guruḥ। tamo-grastaḥ tadā lokaḥ bhaviṣyati narādhipa ॥03-188-46॥
[न (na) - not; कश्चित् (kaścit) - anyone; कस्यचित् (kasyacit) - of anyone; श्रोता (śrotā) - listener; न (na) - not; कश्चित् (kaścit) - anyone; कस्यचिद् (kasyacid) - of anyone; गुरुः (guruḥ) - teacher; तमोग्रस्तः (tamograsthaḥ) - enveloped in darkness; तदा (tadā) - then; लोकः (lokaḥ) - the world; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will become; नराधिप (narādhipa) - O king;]
(Not anyone of anyone a listener, not anyone of anyone a teacher. Enveloped in darkness then the world will become, O king.)
No one will be a listener to anyone, no one will be a teacher to anyone. Then the world will be enveloped in darkness, O king. (03-188-46)
परमायुश्च भविता तदा वर्षाणि षोडश। ततः प्राणान्विमोक्ष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-४७॥
paramāyuś ca bhavitā tadā varṣāṇi ṣoḍaśa। tataḥ prāṇān vimokṣyanti yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-47॥
[परमायुः (paramāyuḥ) - supreme lifespan; च (ca) - and; भविता (bhavitā) - will be; तदा (tadā) - then; वर्षाणि (varṣāṇi) - years; षोडश (ṣoḍaśa) - sixteen; ततः (tataḥ) - then; प्राणान् (prāṇān) - lives; विमोक्ष्यन्ति (vimokṣyanti) - they will release; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - having come near;]
(And supreme lifespan will be then sixteen years; then, lives they will release at the end of the age having come near.)
And at that time, the maximum lifespan will be sixteen years; then, at the approach of the end of the age, lives will depart. (03-188-47)
पञ्चमे वाथ षष्ठे वा वर्षे कन्या प्रसूयते। सप्तवर्षाष्टवर्षाश्च प्रजास्यन्ति नरास्तदा ॥०३-१८८-४८॥
pañcame vātha ṣaṣṭhe vā varṣe kanyā prasūyate। saptavarṣāṣṭavarṣāś ca prajāsyanti narās tadā ॥03-188-48॥
[पञ्चमे (pañcame) - in the fifth (year); वा (vā) - or; अथ (atha) - or; षष्ठे (ṣaṣṭhe) - in the sixth (year); वा (vā) - or; वर्षे (varṣe) - year; कन्या (kanyā) - daughter; प्रसूयते (prasūyate) - is born; सप्तवर्षा (saptavarṣā) - seven years old (girl); अष्टवर्षा (aṣṭavarṣā) - eight years old (girl); च (ca) - and; प्रजास्यन्ति (prajāsyanti) - procreate; नराः (narāḥ) - men; तदा (tadā) - then;]
(In the fifth or alternatively in the sixth year, a daughter is born. Seven-year-old and eight-year-old (girls) then, men procreate offspring.)
A daughter is born during the fifth or sixth year, and then, when she is seven or eight years old, men beget offspring with her. (03-188-48)
पत्यौ स्त्री तु तदा राजन्पुरुषो वा स्त्रियं प्रति। युगान्ते राजशार्दूल न तोषमुपयास्यति ॥०३-१८८-४९॥
patyau strī tu tadā rājan puruṣo vā striyaṃ prati। yugānte rājaśārdūla na toṣam upayāsyati॥03-188-49॥
[पत्यौ (patyau) - in (her) husband; 'pati' (husband, locative singular); स्त्री (strī) - woman; तु (tu) - but; however; तदा (tadā) - then; at that time; राजन् (rājan) - O king; पुरुषः (puruṣaḥ) - man; वा (vā) - or; स्त्रियं (striyaṃ) - woman; 'strī' (woman, accusative singular); प्रति (prati) - towards; with regard to; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of an age; राजशार्दूल (rājaśārdūla) - O tiger among kings; न (na) - not; no; तोषम् (toṣam) - satisfaction; उपयास्यति (upayāsyati) - will attain; will approach;]
(In her husband, the woman indeed then, O king, or the man towards the woman, at the end of the age, O tiger among kings, will not satisfaction attain.)
O king, at the end of the age, a woman will not find satisfaction in her husband, nor a man in a woman, O tiger among kings. (03-188-49)
अल्पद्रव्या वृथालिङ्गा हिंसा च प्रभविष्यति। न कश्चित्कस्यचिद्दाता भविष्यति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-५०॥
alpadraavyā vṛthāliṅgā hiṁsā ca prabhaviṣyati. na kaścit kasyacid dātā bhaviṣyati yugakṣaye ॥03-188-50॥
[अल्पद्रव्या (alpadraavyā) - of little wealth; वृथालिङ्गा (vṛthāliṅgā) - with false marks; (or) having futile symbols; हिंसा (hiṁsā) - violence; च (ca) - and; प्रभविष्यति (prabhaviṣyati) - will prevail; न (na) - not; कश्चित् (kaścit) - anyone; कस्यचित् (kasyacit) - to anyone; दाता (dātā) - giver; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will be; युगक्षये (yugakṣaye) - at the end of the age;]
(Of little wealth, with false marks, violence also will prevail; not anyone to anyone a giver will be at the end of the age.)
At the end of the age, people will be poor, bear false symbols, and violence will prevail; no one will give anything to anyone. (03-188-50)
अट्टशूला जनपदाः शिवशूलाश्चतुष्पथाः। केशशूलाः स्त्रियश्चापि भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥०३-१८८-५१॥
aṭṭaśūlā janapadāḥ śivaśūlāś catuṣpathāḥ| keśaśūlāḥ striyaś cāpi bhaviṣyanti yugakṣaye ॥03-188-51॥
[अट्टशूला (aṭṭaśūlāḥ) - having sharp-pointed pikes; (aṭṭa - pointed, śūla - spear); जनपदाः (janapadāḥ) - districts; regions; शिवशूलाः (śivaśūlāḥ) - having spear of Śiva; (śiva - Shiva, śūla - spear); चतुष्पथाः (catuṣpathāḥ) - crossroads; (catuḥ - four, patha - road); केशशूलाः (keśaśūlāḥ) - having sharp hair; (keśa - hair, śūla - sharp, pain, or dart); स्त्रियः (striyaḥ) - women; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will be; shall become; युगक्षये (yugakṣaye) - at the end of the age; (yuga - age, kṣaya - decline, end);]
(Sharp-piked regions, crossroads of Śiva’s spear, sharp-haired women also will be at the end of the age.)
At the end of the age, regions will be full of sharp-piked (weapons), crossroads will have spears belonging to Śiva, and even women will possess sharp-pointed hair. (03-188-51)
म्लेच्छाः क्रूराः सर्वभक्षा दारुणाः सर्वकर्मसु। भाविनः पश्चिमे काले मनुष्या नात्र संशयः ॥०३-१८८-५२॥
mlecchāḥ krūrāḥ sarvabhakṣā dāruṇāḥ sarvakarmasu। bhāvinaḥ paścime kāle manuṣyā nātra saṃśayaḥ॥03-188-52॥
[म्लेच्छाः (mlecchāḥ) - foreigners; (or) barbarians; क्रूराः (krūrāḥ) - cruel; सर्वभक्षा (sarvabhakṣā) - eaters of everything; दारुणाः (dāruṇāḥ) - fierce; सर्वकर्मसु (sarvakarmasu) - in all actions; भाविनः (bhāvinaḥ) - about to be; (who will arise;) पश्चिमे (paścime) - in the future; (lit. western;) काले (kāle) - at the time; मनुष्याः (manuṣyāḥ) - humans; न (na) - not; अत्र (atra) - here; संशयः (saṃśayaḥ) - doubt;]
(Foreigners, cruel, eaters of everything, fierce, in all actions, about to be, in the future time, humans, not, here, doubt.)
In the future time, there will be humans who are foreigners, cruel, eat all things, fierce in all actions; of this there is no doubt. (03-188-52)
क्रयविक्रयकाले च सर्वः सर्वस्य वञ्चनम्। युगान्ते भरतश्रेष्ठ वृत्तिलोभात्करिष्यति ॥०३-१८८-५३॥
krayavikrayakāle ca sarvaḥ sarvasya vañcanam। yugānte bharataśreṣṭha vṛttilobhāt kariṣyati ॥03-188-53॥
[क्रयविक्रयकाले (kraya-vikraya-kāle) - at the time of buying and selling; च (ca) - and; सर्वः (sarvaḥ) - everyone; सर्वस्य (sarvasya) - of everyone; वञ्चनम् (vañcanam) - deceit; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; भरतश्रेष्ठ (bharata-śreṣṭha) - O best of the Bharatas; वृत्तिलोभात् (vṛtti-lobhāt) - due to greed for livelihood; करिष्यति (kariṣyati) - will do;]
(At the time of buying and selling and everyone of everyone deceit, at the end of the age, O best of the Bharatas, due to greed for livelihood, will do.)
O best of the Bharatas, at the end of the age, during buying and selling, everyone will deceive everyone due to greed for livelihood. (03-188-53)
ज्ञानानि चाप्यविज्ञाय करिष्यन्ति क्रियास्तथा। आत्मच्छन्देन वर्तन्ते युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-५४॥
jñānāni cāpy avijñāya kariṣyanti kriyās tathā। ātmacchandena vartante yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-54॥
[ज्ञानानि (jñānāni) - knowledges; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; अविज्ञाय (avijñāya) - without knowing; करिष्यन्ति (kariṣyanti) - they will perform; क्रियाः (kriyāḥ) - actions; तथा (tathā) - thus; आत्मच्छन्देन (ātmacchandena) - according to their own will; वर्तन्ते (vartante) - they behave; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when it has arrived;]
(Knowledges and also, without knowing, they will perform actions thus; according to their own will, they behave, at the end of the age, when it has arrived.)
At the end of the age, when it has arrived, knowledges and actions are performed without being known, and beings act according to their own will. (03-188-54)
स्वभावात्क्रूरकर्माणश्चान्योन्यमभिशङ्किनः। भवितारो जनाः सर्वे सम्प्राप्ते युगसङ्क्षये ॥०३-१८८-५५॥
svabhāvāt krūrakarmāṇaś ca anyonyam abhiśaṅkinaḥ. bhavitāro janāḥ sarve samprāpte yugasaṅkṣaye ॥03-188-55॥
[स्वभावात् (svabhāvāt) - by nature; क्रूरकर्माणः (krūrakarmāṇaḥ) - cruel in actions; च (ca) - and; अन्योन्यम् (anyonyam) - towards one another; अभिशङ्किनः (abhiśaṅkinaḥ) - suspicious; भवितारः (bhavitāraḥ) - will become; जनाः (janāḥ) - people; सर्वे (sarve) - all; सम्प्राप्ते (samprāpte) - when has arrived; युगसङ्क्षये (yugasaṅkṣaye) - at the destruction of the age;]
(By nature cruel in actions and towards one another suspicious, will become people all, when has arrived at the destruction of the age.)
When the end of the age arrives, all people will by nature be cruel in actions and suspicious towards one another. (03-188-55)
आरामांश्चैव वृक्षांश्च नाशयिष्यन्ति निर्व्यथाः। भविता सङ्क्षयो लोके जीवितस्य च देहिनाम् ॥०३-१८८-५६॥
ārāmaṁścaiva vṛkṣāṁśca nāśayiṣyanti nirvyathāḥ। bhavitā saṅkṣayo loke jīvitasya ca dehinām॥03-188-56॥
[आरामान् (ārāmān) - pleasure-grounds; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - also; वृक्षान् (vṛkṣān) - trees; च (ca) - and; नाशयिष्यन्ति (nāśayiṣyanti) - will destroy; निर्व्यथाः (nirvyathāḥ) - without pain; भविता (bhavitā) - there will be; सङ्क्षयः (saṅkṣayaḥ) - destruction; लोके (loke) - in the world; जीवितस्य (jīvitasya) - of life; च (ca) - and; देहिनाम् (dehinām) - of embodied beings;]
(Pleasure-grounds and also trees and will destroy without pain; there will be destruction in the world of life and of embodied beings.)
They will destroy pleasure-grounds and also trees without any pain; there will be destruction of the lives of embodied beings in the world. (03-188-56)
तथा लोभाभिभूताश्च चरिष्यन्ति महीमिमाम्। ब्राह्मणाश्च भविष्यन्ति ब्रह्मस्वानि च भुञ्जते ॥०३-१८८-५७॥
tathā lobhābhibhūtāś ca cariṣyanti mahīm imām। brāhmaṇāś ca bhaviṣyanti brahmasvāni ca bhuñjate॥03-188-57॥
[तथा (tathā) - thus; लोभ-अभिभूताः (lobha-abhibhūtāḥ) - overcome by greed; च (ca) - and; चरिष्यन्ति (cariṣyanti) - will act; will behave; महीम् (mahīm) - earth; इमाम् (imām) - this; ब्राह्मणाः (brāhmaṇāḥ) - brāhmaṇas; च (ca) - and; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; ब्रह्मस्वानि (brahmasvāni) - brahmanical properties; sacred possessions; च (ca) - and; भुञ्जते (bhuñjate) - enjoy; partake;]
(Thus, overcome by greed, and will act (upon) this earth; brāhmaṇas and will become, brahmanical properties and (they) enjoy;)
Thus, when overcome by greed, they will act upon this earth; and the brāhmaṇas will arise, and they will enjoy brahmanical properties. (03-188-57)
हाहाकृता द्विजाश्चैव भयार्ता वृषलार्दिताः। त्रातारमलभन्तो वै भ्रमिष्यन्ति महीमिमाम् ॥०३-१८८-५८॥
hāhākṛtā dvijāścaiva bhayārtā vṛṣalārditāḥ। trātāramalabhanto vai bhramiṣyanti mahīmimām ॥03-188-58॥
[हाहाकृता (hāhākṛtāḥ) - having made cries of distress; द्विजाः (dvijāḥ) - twice-born; चैव (ca eva) - and also; भयार्ताः (bhayārtāḥ) - afflicted by fear; वृषलार्दिताः (vṛṣalārditāḥ) - tormented by vṛṣalas (base men); त्रातारम् (trātāram) - protector; अलभन्तः (alabhantaḥ) - not finding; वै (vai) - indeed; भ्रमिष्यन्ति (bhramiṣyanti) - will wander; महीम् (mahīm) - earth; इमाम् (imām) - this; ॥०३-१८८-५८॥ (॥03-188-58॥) -;]
(Having made cries of distress, the twice-born and also (being) afflicted by fear, tormented by vṛṣalas, not finding a protector indeed, will wander this earth.)
The twice-born, making cries of distress, afflicted by fear and tormented by base men, not finding a protector, will indeed wander over this earth. (03-188-58)
जीवितान्तकरा रौद्राः क्रूराः प्राणिविहिंसकाः। यदा भविष्यन्ति नरास्तदा सङ्क्षेप्स्यते युगम् ॥०३-१८८-५९॥
jīvitāntakarā raudrāḥ krūrāḥ prāṇivihiṃsakāḥ। yadā bhaviṣyanti narās tadā saṅkṣepsyate yugam॥03-188-59॥
[जीवित-अन्त-कराः (jīvita-anta-karāḥ) - causing end of life; रौद्राः (raudrāḥ) - fierce; क्रूराः (krūrāḥ) - cruel; प्राणि-विहिंसकाः (prāṇi-vihiṃsakāḥ) - harmful to living beings; यदा (yadā) - when; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; नराः (narāḥ) - men; तदा (tadā) - then; सङ्क्षेप्स्यते (saṅkṣepsyate) - will be shortened; युगम् (yugam) - age;]
(Causing end of life, fierce, cruel, harmful to living beings; when men will become, then the age will be shortened. (03-188-59))
When men become destroyers of life, fierce, cruel, and harmful to living beings, then the age will be shortened. (03-188-59)
आश्रयिष्यन्ति च नदीः पर्वतान्विषमाणि च। प्रधावमाना वित्रस्ता द्विजाः कुरुकुलोद्वह ॥०३-१८८-६०॥
āśrayiṣyanti ca nadīḥ parvatān viṣamāṇi ca। pradhāvamānā vitrastā dvijāḥ kurukulodvaha ॥03-188-60॥
[आश्रयिष्यन्ति (āśrayiṣyanti) - they will seek refuge; च (ca) - and; नदीः (nadīḥ) - rivers; पर्वतान् (parvatān) - mountains; विषमाणि (viṣamāṇi) - uneven places; च (ca) - and; प्रधावमाना (pradhāvamānā) - running swiftly; वित्रस्ता (vitrastā) - being terrified; द्विजाः (dvijāḥ) - twice-born (brahmins); कुरुकुलोद्वह (kurukulodvaha) - O best of the Kuru race;]
(They will seek refuge, and rivers, mountains, uneven places too, running swiftly, being terrified, the twice-born, O best of the Kuru race.)
O best of the Kuru race, the brahmins, being terrified, will run swiftly and seek refuge even in rivers, mountains, and rough places. (03-188-60)
दस्युप्रपीडिता राजन्काका इव द्विजोत्तमाः। कुराजभिश्च सततं करभारप्रपीडिताः ॥०३-१८८-६१॥
dasyu-prapīḍitā rājan-kākā iva dvijottamāḥ। kurājabhiś ca satataṃ kara-bhāra-prapīḍitāḥ॥03-188-61॥

(Fortitude having abandoned, O king, in the terrible destruction of the age, evil deeds they will do, of the Śūdras, the servants.)
O king, when the age ends in devastation, the servants of the Śūdras, having abandoned fortitude, will perform evil deeds. (03-188-62)
शूद्रा धर्मं प्रवक्ष्यन्ति ब्राह्मणाः पर्युपासकाः। श्रोतारश्च भविष्यन्ति प्रामाण्येन व्यवस्थिताः ॥०३-१८८-६३॥
śūdrā dharmaṃ pravakṣyanti brāhmaṇāḥ paryupāsakāḥ। śrotāraś ca bhaviṣyanti prāmāṇyena vyavasthitāḥ॥03-188-63॥
[शूद्राः (śūdrāḥ) - Śūdras; (members of the Śūdra class); धर्मं (dharmaṃ) - dharma; (righteousness; law; sacred duty); प्रवक्ष्यन्ति (pravakṣyanti) - will declare; (will expound); ब्राह्मणाः (brāhmaṇāḥ) - Brāhmaṇas; (members of the Brāhmaṇa class); पर्युपासकाः (paryupāsakāḥ) - attendant; those who attend upon; श्रोतारः (śrotāraḥ) - listeners; hearers; च (ca) - and; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; प्रामाण्येन (prāmāṇyena) - with authority; by the authority; व्यवस्थिताः (vyavasthitāḥ) - established; fixed;]
(Śūdras dharma will declare, Brāhmaṇas attendants; listeners and will become, with authority established.)
Śūdras will declare the dharma, while Brāhmaṇas become attendants; and the listeners will be established with authority. (03-188-63)
विपरीतश्च लोकोऽयं भविष्यत्यधरोत्तरः। एडूकान्पूजयिष्यन्ति वर्जयिष्यन्ति देवताः ॥ शूद्राः परिचरिष्यन्ति न द्विजान्युगसङ्क्षये ॥०३-१८८-६४॥
viparītaś ca loko'yaṃ bhaviṣyaty adharottaraḥ। eḍūkān pūjayiṣyanti varjayiṣyanti devatāḥ॥ śūdrāḥ paricariṣyanti na dvijān yuga-saṅkṣaye॥03-188-64॥
[विपरीतः (viparītaḥ) - opposite; reversed; च (ca) - and; लोकः (lokaḥ) - world; अयम् (ayam) - this; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will become; अधरोत्तरः (adharottaraḥ) - lower becoming upper; upside-down; एडूकान् (eḍūkān) - fools; the ignorant ones; पूजयिष्यन्ति (pūjayiṣyanti) - will worship; वर्जयिष्यन्ति (varjayiṣyanti) - will avoid; will shun; देवताः (devatāḥ) - the gods; divine beings; शूद्राः (śūdrāḥ) - Shudras; the servant class; परिचरिष्यन्ति (paricariṣyanti) - will serve; न (na) - not; द्विजान् (dvijān) - twice-born; Brahmanas and others; युगसङ्क्षये (yuga-saṅkṣaye) - at the end of the age; in the dissolution of the era;]
(Opposite and, this world will become, lower becoming upper. The ignorant ones, will worship, will avoid, the gods. Shudras will serve not the twice-born at the end of the age. (03-188-64))
And the world will become reversed, with the lower rising above. The ignorant will be worshiped, and the gods will be shunned. At the end of the age, Shudras will not serve the twice-born. (03-188-64)
आश्रमेषु महर्षीणां ब्राह्मणावसथेषु च। देवस्थानेषु चैत्येषु नागानामालयेषु च ॥०३-१८८-६५॥
āśrameṣu maharṣīṇām brāhmaṇāvasatheṣu ca। devasthāneṣu caityeṣu nāgānām ālayeṣu ca ॥03-188-65॥
[आश्रमेषु (āśrameṣu) - in the hermitages; of āśrama; in (loc. pl.); महर्षीणां (maharṣīṇām) - of the great seers; of mahāṛṣi; (gen. pl.); ब्राह्मणावसथेषु (brāhmaṇāvasatheṣu) - in the residences of the Brāhmaṇas; in the houses of brāhmaṇas; (loc. pl.); च (ca) - and; देवस्थानेषु (devasthāneṣu) - in the temples; in the abodes of deities; (loc. pl.); चैत्येषु (caityeṣu) - in caityas; in sacred shrines; (loc. pl.); नागानाम् (nágānām) - of nāgas; of serpents; (gen. pl.); आलयेषु (ālayeṣu) - in the abodes; in the dwellings; (loc. pl.); च (ca) - and;]

एडूकचिह्ना पृथिवी न देवगृहभूषिता। भविष्यति युगे क्षीणे तद्युगान्तस्य लक्षणम् ॥०३-१८८-६६॥
eḍūkacihnā pṛthivī na devagṛhabhūṣitā। bhaviṣyati yuge kṣīṇe tadyugāntasya lakṣaṇam ॥03-188-66॥
[एडूकचिह्ना (eḍūkacihnā) - marked by graves; पृथिवी (pṛthivī) - earth; न (na) - not; देवगृहभूषिता (devagṛhabhūṣitā) - adorned with temples; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will become; युगे (yuge) - in the age; क्षीणे (kṣīṇe) - when diminished; तत् (tat) - that; युगान्तस्य (yugāntasya) - of the end of the age; लक्षणम् (lakṣaṇam) - characteristic;]
(The earth marked by graves, not adorned with temples, will become, when the age is diminished; that is the characteristic of the end of the age.)

यदा रौद्रा धर्महीना मांसादाः पानपास्तथा। भविष्यन्ति नरा नित्यं तदा सङ्क्षेप्स्यते युगम् ॥०३-१८८-६७॥
yadā raudrā dharmahīnā mānsādāḥ pānapāstathā। bhaviṣyanti narā nityaṃ tadā saṅkṣepsyate yugam ॥03-188-67॥
[यदा (yadā) - when; रौद्रा (raudrā) - cruel; धर्महीना (dharmahīnā) - without dharma; मांसादाः (māṃsādāḥ) - meat-eaters; पानपास्तथा (pānapāstathā) - drinkers of intoxicants likewise; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will become; नरा (narā) - men; नित्यं (nityaṃ) - always; तदा (tadā) - then; सङ्क्षेप्स्यते (saṅkṣepsyate) - will be shortened; युगम् (yugam) - the age;]
(When cruel, without dharma, meat-eaters, drinkers of intoxicants likewise, will become men always, then will be shortened the age.)
When men are always cruel, devoid of dharma, eating meat and drinking intoxicants, then the age (yuga) will be shortened. (03-188-67)
पुष्पे पुष्पं यदा राजन्फले फलमुपाश्रितम्। प्रजास्यति महाराज तदा सङ्क्षेप्स्यते युगम् ॥०३-१८८-६८॥
puṣpe puṣpaṁ yadā rājan phale phalam upāśritam। prajāsyati mahārāja tadā saṅkṣepsyate yugam॥03-188-68॥
[पुष्पे (puṣpe) - in the flower; पुष्पं (puṣpam) - flower; यदा (yadā) - when; राजन् (rājan) - O king; फले (phale) - in the fruit; फलम् (phalam) - fruit; उपाश्रितम् (upāśritam) - resorted to; attached; प्रजास्यति (prajāsyati) - will produce offspring; महाराज (mahārāja) - O great king; तदा (tadā) - then; सङ्क्षेप्स्यते (saṅkṣepsyate) - will be shortened; युगम् (yugam) - the age; the era;]
(In the flower, flower; when, O king; in the fruit, fruit attached; will produce offspring, O great king; then, will be shortened, the age.)
O king, when a flower contains another flower, and when a fruit contains another fruit attached, then, O great king, the era will be shortened. (03-188-68)
अकालवर्षी पर्जन्यो भविष्यति गते युगे। अक्रमेण मनुष्याणां भविष्यति तदा क्रिया ॥ विरोधमथ यास्यन्ति वृषला ब्राह्मणैः सह ॥०३-१८८-६९॥
akālavarṣī parjanyo bhaviṣyati gate yuge। akrameṇa manuṣyāṇāṃ bhaviṣyati tadā kriyā ॥ virodham atha yāsyanti vṛṣalā brāhmaṇaiḥ saha ॥03-188-69॥
[अकालवर्षी (akālavarṣī) - one who causes rain at the wrong time; (irregular-raining; पर्जन्यः (parjanyaḥ) - cloud; (the rain-giver; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will be; गते (gate) - having passed; युगे (yuge) - in the age; अक्रमेण (akrameṇa) - without order; (irregularly; मनुष्याणाम् (manuṣyāṇām) - of humans; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - shall be; तदा (tadā) - then; क्रिया (kriyā) - activity; (rites; विरोधम् (virodham) - opposition; अथ (atha) - then; यास्यन्ति (yāsyanti) - will go; वृषलाः (vṛṣalāḥ) - shudras; (outcastes; ब्राह्मणैः (brāhmaṇaiḥ) - with brahmins; सह (saha) - together;]
(Irregular-raining cloud will be, when the age has passed. Without order among humans will be then activities. In opposition, then will go shudras together with brahmins. (03-188-69))
When the age has passed, the clouds will cause rain at the wrong time. Among humans, activities will be without order. Shudras will go in opposition together with brahmins. (03-188-69)
मही म्लेच्छसमाकीर्णा भविष्यति ततोऽचिरात्। करभारभयाद्विप्रा भजिष्यन्ति दिशो दश ॥०३-१८८-७०॥
mahī mlecchasamākīrṇā bhaviṣyati tato'cirāt। karabhārabhayād viprā bhajiṣyanti diśo daśa ॥03-188-70॥
[मही (mahī) - earth; म्लेच्छसमाकीर्णा (mleccha-samākīrṇā) - filled with foreigners; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will become; ततः (tataḥ) - then; अचिरात् (acirāt) - soon; करभारभयात् (kara-bhāra-bhayāt) - from fear of the burden of taxation; विप्राः (viprāḥ) - Brāhmaṇas; भजिष्यन्ति (bhajiṣyanti) - will resort; दिशः (diśaḥ) - directions; दश (daśa) - ten;]
(Earth filled with foreigners will become; then soon; from fear of the burden of taxation; Brāhmaṇas will resort; to the ten directions.)
Soon the earth will be filled with foreigners; then, out of fear of the burden of taxation, the Brāhmaṇas will disperse to all ten directions. (03-188-70)
निर्विशेषा जनपदा नरावृष्टिभिरर्दिताः। आश्रमानभिपत्स्यन्ति फलमूलोपजीविनः ॥०३-१८८-७१॥
nirviśeṣā janapadā narāvṛṣṭibhir arditāḥ। āśramān abhipatsyanti phalamūlopajīvinaḥ॥03-188-71॥
[निर्विशेषा (nirviśeṣā) - without distinction; जनपदाः (janapadāḥ) - territories; नरावृष्टिभिः (narāvṛṣṭibhiḥ) - by the lack of rain; अर्दिताः (arditāḥ) - afflicted; आश्रमान् (āśramān) - hermitages; अभिपत्स्यन्ति (abhipatsyanti) - will seek; फलमूलोपजीविनः (phalamūlopajīvinaḥ) - living on fruits and roots;]
(Without distinction, the territories, afflicted by lack of rain, the people living on fruits and roots will seek the hermitages.)
The people who live on fruits and roots, when the territories are indiscriminately afflicted by drought, will seek refuge in hermitages. (03-188-71)
एवं पर्याकुले लोके मर्यादा न भविष्यति। न स्थास्यन्त्युपदेशे च शिष्या विप्रियकारिणः ॥०३-१८८-७२॥
evaṃ paryākule loke maryādā na bhaviṣyati. na sthāsyantyupadeśe ca śiṣyā vipriyakāriṇaḥ ॥03-188-72॥
[एवं (evaṃ) - thus; पर्याकुले (paryākule) - greatly disturbed; लोके (loke) - in the world; मर्यादा (maryādā) - restraint; न (na) - not; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will exist; न (na) - not; स्थास्यन्ति (sthāsyanti) - will remain; उपदेशे (upadeśe) - in (the) instruction; च (ca) - and; शिष्या (śiṣyā) - students; विप्रियकारिणः (vipriyakāriṇaḥ) - doers of wrong;]
(Thus, in (a) greatly disturbed world, restraint will not exist. Nor will students who do wrong remain in (the) instruction. (03-188-72))

आचार्योपनिधिश्चैव वत्स्यते तदनन्तरम्। अर्थयुक्त्या प्रवत्स्यन्ति मित्रसम्बन्धिबान्धवाः ॥ अभावः सर्वभूतानां युगान्ते च भविष्यति ॥०३-१८८-७३॥
ācāryopanidhiś caiva vatsyate tadanantaram। arthayuktyā pravatsyanti mitrasambandhibāndhavāḥ ॥ abhāvaḥ sarvabhūtānāṃ yugānte ca bhaviṣyati ॥03-188-73॥
[आचार्योपनिधिः (ācāryopanidhiḥ) - deposit with the teacher; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; वत्स्यते (vatsyate) - will remain; तदनन्तरम् (tadanantaram) - immediately after that; अर्थयुक्त्या (arthayuktyā) - with sensible reasoning; प्रवत्स्यन्ति (pravatsyanti) - will depart; मित्र (mitra) - friend; सम्बन्धि (sambandhi) - relative; बान्धवाः (bāndhavāḥ) - kinsmen; अभावः (abhāvaḥ) - non-existence; सर्वभूतानाम् (sarvabhūtānām) - of all beings; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; च (ca) - and; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will be;]
(Deposit with the teacher indeed will remain; immediately after that, with sensible reasoning, friend, relative, and kinsmen will depart. Non-existence of all beings at the end of the age also will be.)
The deposit with the teacher will indeed remain; immediately after, friends, relatives, and kinsmen will depart with good reason. At the end of the age, there will be disappearance of all beings. (03-188-73)
दिशः प्रज्वलिताः सर्वा नक्षत्राणि चलानि च। ज्योतींषि प्रतिकूलानि वाताः पर्याकुलास्तथा ॥ उल्कापाताश्च बहवो महाभयनिदर्शकाः ॥०३-१८८-७४॥
diśaḥ prajvalitāḥ sarvā nakṣatrāṇi calāni ca। jyotīṃṣi pratikūlāni vātāḥ paryākulās tathā॥ ulkāpātāś ca bahavo mahābhaya-nidarśakāḥ॥03-188-74॥
[दिशः (diśaḥ) - directions; प्रज्वलिताः (prajvalitāḥ) - ignited; सर्वा (sarvā) - all; नक्षत्राणि (nakṣatrāṇi) - stars; चलानि (calāni) - moving; च (ca) - and; ज्योतींषि (jyotīṃṣi) - luminaries; प्रतिकूलानि (pratikūlāni) - adverse; वाताः (vātāḥ) - winds; पर्याकुलाः (paryākulāḥ) - distressed; तथा (tathā) - likewise; उलकापाताः (ulkāpātāḥ) - meteor falls; च (ca) - and; बहवः (bahavaḥ) - many; महाभयनिदर्शकाः (mahābhaya-nidarśakāḥ) - indicators of great danger;]
(Directions ignited all, stars moving and, luminaries adverse, winds likewise distressed; meteor falls and many, indicators of great danger.)
All directions are blazing, the stars are moving, the luminaries are adverse, and the winds are also disturbed; many meteors are falling, showing signs of great danger. (03-188-74)
षड्भिरन्यैश्च सहितो भास्करः प्रतपिष्यति। तुमुलाश्चापि निर्ह्रादा दिग्दाहाश्चापि सर्वशः ॥ कबन्धान्तर्हितो भानुरुदयास्तमये तदा ॥०३-१८८-७५॥
ṣaḍbhir anyaiś ca sahito bhāskaraḥ pratapiṣyati। tumulāś cāpi nirhrādā digdāhāś cāpi sarvaśaḥ ॥ kabandhāntarhito bhānur udayāstamaye tadā ॥03-188-75॥
[षड्भिः (ṣaḍbhiḥ) - with six; अन्यैः (anyaiḥ) - with others; च (ca) - and; सहितः (sahitaḥ) - together (with); भास्करः (bhāskaraḥ) - the Sun; प्रतपिष्यति (pratapiṣyati) - will shine intensely; तुमुलाः (tumulāḥ) - loud; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; निर्ह्रादाः (nirhrādāḥ) - roaring sounds; दिग्दाहाः (digdāhāḥ) - burning of directions; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; सर्वशः (sarvaśaḥ) - everywhere; कबन्ध-अन्तर्-हितः (kabandha-antar-hitaḥ) - hidden within the body (trunk); भानुः (bhānuḥ) - the Sun; उदय-स्तमये (udaya-stamaye) - in rising and setting; तदा (tadā) - then;]
(With six others together the Sun will shine intensely. Loud roaring sounds and burning of the directions also everywhere. Hidden within the body, the Sun then at rising and setting.)
The Sun, together with six others, will shine fiercely. Everywhere, there will be loud, roaring sounds and the burning of the directions. At that time, the Sun, concealed within the body, will rise and set. (03-188-75)
अकालवर्षी च तदा भविष्यति सहस्रदृक्। सस्यानि च न रोक्ष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-७६॥
akālavarṣī ca tadā bhaviṣyati sahasradṛk। sasyāni ca na rokṣyanti yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-76॥
[अकालवर्षी (akālavarṣī) - one who sends rain at the wrong time; (literally: out-of-season rain-bringer;); च (ca) - and; तदा (tadā) - then; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will be; सहस्रदृक् (sahasradṛk) - the thousand-eyed (Indra); सस्यानि (sasyāni) - crops; च (ca) - and; न (na) - not; रोक्ष्यन्ति (rokṣyanti) - will grow; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when (it is) fully arrived;]
(And then the thousand-eyed (Indra) will be a bringer of out-of-season rain; and crops will not grow when the end of the age has fully arrived.)
At that time, Indra will cause unseasonal rains; and when the end of the age has fully come, crops will not grow. (03-188-76)
अभीक्ष्णं क्रूरवादिन्यः परुषा रुदितप्रियाः। भर्तॄणां वचने चैव न स्थास्यन्ति तदा स्त्रियः ॥०३-१८८-७७॥
abhīkṣṇaṃ krūravādinyaḥ paruṣā ruditapriyāḥ। bhartṝṇāṃ vacane caiva na sthāsyanti tadā striyaḥ॥03-188-77॥
[अभीक्ष्णं (abhīkṣṇam) - constantly; क्रूरवादिन्यः (krūravādinyaḥ) - speaking harshly; परुषाः (paruṣāḥ) - rough; रुदितप्रियाः (ruditapriyāḥ) - fond of weeping; भर्तॄणाम् (bhartṝṇām) - of husbands; वचने (vacane) - in the words; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; न (na) - not; स्थास्यन्ति (sthāsyanti) - will remain; तदा (tadā) - then; स्त्रियः (striyaḥ) - women;]
(Constantly, speaking harshly, rough, fond of weeping, in the words of their husbands and indeed, not will remain then, women.)
At that time, women, being constantly harsh in speech, rough, and fond of weeping, will not remain obedient to the words of their husbands. (03-188-77)
पुत्राश्च मातापितरौ हनिष्यन्ति युगक्षये। सूदयिष्यन्ति च पतीन्स्त्रियः पुत्रानपाश्रिताः ॥०३-१८८-७८॥
putrāś ca mātāpitarau haniṣyanti yugakṣaye। sūdayiṣyanti ca patīn striyaḥ putrānapāśritāḥ॥03-188-78॥
[पुत्राः (putrāḥ) - sons; च (ca) - and; मातापितरौ (mātāpitarau) - mother and father; हनिष्यन्ति (haniṣyanti) - will slay; युगक्षये (yugakṣaye) - at the end of the age; सूदयिष्यन्ति (sūdayiṣyanti) - will destroy; च (ca) - and; पतीन् (patīn) - husbands; स्त्रियः (striyaḥ) - women; पुत्रान् (putrān) - sons; अपाश्रिताः (apāśritāḥ) - not under protection;]
(And sons will slay mother and father at the end of the age. And women not under protection will destroy husbands, sons.)
At the end of the age, sons will kill their mother and father; and women who are unprotected will destroy their husbands and sons. (03-188-78)
अपर्वणि महाराज सूर्यं राहुरुपैष्यति। युगान्ते हुतभुक्चापि सर्वतः प्रज्वलिष्यति ॥०३-१८८-७९॥
aparvaṇi mahārāja sūryaṃ rāhur upaiṣyati। yugānte hutabhuk cāpi sarvataḥ prajvaliṣyati ॥03-188-79॥
[अपर्वणि (aparvaṇi) - on a day that is not a sacred lunar day (festival); महाराज (mahārāja) - O great king; सूर्यम् (sūryam) - the Sun; राहुः (rāhuḥ) - Rāhu (the eclipse demon); उपैष्यति (upaiṣyati) - will approach; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of an age (yuga); हुतभुक् (hutabhuk) - the eater of offerings (fire); च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; सर्वतः (sarvataḥ) - everywhere; प्रज्वलिष्यति (prajvaliṣyati) - will blaze;]
(On a non-festival day, O great king, Rāhu will approach the Sun. At the end of the age, the eater of offerings (fire) also will blaze everywhere.)
O great king, Rāhu will seize the Sun on a day that is not a festival; at the end of the age, fire will also blaze everywhere. (03-188-79)
पानीयं भोजनं चैव याचमानास्तदाध्वगाः। न लप्स्यन्ते निवासं च निरस्ताः पथि शेरते ॥०३-१८८-८०॥
pānīyaṃ bhojanaṃ caiva yācamānās tadādhvagāḥ। na lapsyante nivāsaṃ ca nirasṭāḥ pathi śerate॥03-188-80॥
[पानीयं (pānīyam) - water; भोजनं (bhojanam) - food; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - certainly; याचमानाः (yācamānāḥ) - begging; तदा (tadā) - then; अध्वगाः (adhvagāḥ) - travelers; न (na) - not; लप्स्यन्ते (lapsyante) - will obtain; निवासं (nivāsam) - dwelling; च (ca) - and; निरस्ताः (nirasṭāḥ) - driven away; पथि (pathi) - on the path; शेरते (śerate) - lie down;]
(Water, food and indeed, begging, then the travelers; not will obtain, dwelling and, driven away, on the path, lie down.)
Begging for water and food, the travelers at that time, unable to obtain shelter, being driven away, lie down on the road. (03-188-80)
निर्घातवायसा नागाः शकुनाः समृगद्विजाः। रूक्षा वाचो विमोक्ष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-८१॥
nirghātavāyasā nāgāḥ śakunāḥ samṛgadvi jāḥ. rūkṣā vāco vimokṣyanti yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-81॥
[निर्घातवायसा (nirghāta-vāyasā) - thunderbolt-crows; नागाः (nāgāḥ) - snakes; शकुनाः (śakunāḥ) - birds; समृगद्विजाः (samṛga-dvijāḥ) - together with beasts and twice-borns (birds); रूक्षा (rūkṣā) - harsh; वाचः (vācaḥ) - words; विमोक्ष्यन्ति (vimokṣyanti) - will utter; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of an age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when present;]
(Thunderbolt-crows, snakes, birds, together with beasts and twice-borns (birds), harsh words will utter at the end of an age when present.)
When the end of an age is present, thunderbolt-crows, snakes, birds, together with beasts and twice-borns, will utter harsh words. (03-188-81)
मित्रसम्बन्धिनश्चापि सन्त्यक्ष्यन्ति नरास्तदा। जनं परिजनं चापि युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-८२॥
mitrasambandhinaś cāpi santyākṣyanti narās tadā। janaṃ parijanaṃ cāpi yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-82॥
[मित्रसम्बन्धिनः (mitrasambandhinaḥ) - friends and relatives; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; सन्ति (santi) - are; अक्ष्यन्ति (akṣyanti) - will abandon; नराः (narāḥ) - men; तदा (tadā) - then; जनम् (janam) - person; परिजनम् (parijanam) - attendants; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when present;]
(Friends and relatives and also are; will abandon men then; person, attendants and also; at the end of the age, when present.)
At that time, even friends and relatives will abandon men; both a person and his attendants, too, when the end of the age arrives. (03-188-82)
अथ देशान्दिशश्चापि पत्तनानि पुराणि च। क्रमशः संश्रयिष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ॥०३-१८८-८३॥
atha deśāndiśaś cāpi pattanāni purāṇi ca। kramaśaḥ saṃśrayiṣyanti yugānte paryupasthite ॥03-188-83॥
[अथ (atha) - now; then; देशान् (deśān) - countries; lands; दिशः (diśaḥ) - regions; directions; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; पत्तनानि (pattanāni) - cities; towns; पुराणि (purāṇi) - ancient; old; च (ca) - and; क्रमशः (kramaśaḥ) - one after another; gradually; संश्रयिष्यन्ति (saṃśrayiṣyanti) - they will take refuge; they will resort; युगान्ते (yugānte) - at the end of the age; at era's end; पर्युपस्थिते (paryupasthite) - when present; when arrived;]
(Now countries, regions also, old cities and towns, one after another, will take refuge (will be resorted to), at the end of the age, when (it) is present.)
Then, when the end of the age arrives, countries, regions, and ancient towns and cities will gradually be taken refuge in, one after another. (03-188-83)
हा तात हा सुतेत्येवं तदा वाचः सुदारुणाः। विक्रोशमानश्चान्योन्यं जनो गां पर्यटिष्यति ॥०३-१८८-८४॥
hā tāta hā sute tyevaṁ tadā vācaḥ sudāruṇāḥ। vikrośamānaś cānyonyaṁ jano gāṁ paryaṭiṣyati॥03-188-84॥
[हा (hā) - alas; तात (tāta) - father; हा (hā) - alas; सुते (sute) - son; इति (iti) - thus; एवम् (evam) - in this way; तदा (tadā) - then; वाचः (vācaḥ) - words; सुदारुणाः (sudāruṇāḥ) - very terrible; विक्रोशमानः (vikrośamānaḥ) - crying aloud; च (ca) - and; अन्योन्यम् (anyonyam) - each other; जनः (janaḥ) - the people; गाम् (gām) - the earth; पर्यटिष्यति (paryaṭiṣyati) - will wander;]
(Alas, father! Alas, son!—thus, then, words very terrible; crying aloud at each other, the people will wander the earth.)
Then, crying out terribly, with words like, "Alas, father! Alas, son!" people will wander the earth, lamenting to each other. (03-188-84)
ततस्तुमुलसङ्घाते वर्तमाने युगक्षये। द्विजातिपूर्वको लोकः क्रमेण प्रभविष्यति ॥०३-१८८-८५॥
tatastumula-saṅghāte vartamāne yuga-kṣaye। dvijāti-pūrvako lokaḥ krameṇa prabhaviṣyati ॥03-188-85॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; तुमुलसङ्घाते (tumula-saṅghāte) - in a tumultuous assembly; वर्तमाने (vartamāne) - being present; युगक्षये (yuga-kṣaye) - at the end of an age; द्विजातिपूर्वकः (dvijāti-pūrvakaḥ) - preceded by the twice-born; लोकः (lokaḥ) - world; क्रमेण (krameṇa) - in sequence; प्रभविष्यति (prabhaviṣyati) - will arise;]
(Then, in a tumultuous assembly being present at the end of an age, the world preceded by the twice-born, in sequence, will arise.)
Then, when the age is ending and tumultuous gatherings occur, the world, led by the twice-born, will gradually emerge. (03-188-85)
ततः कालान्तरेऽन्यस्मिन्पुनर्लोकविवृद्धये। भविष्यति पुनर्दैवमनुकूलं यदृच्छया ॥०३-१८८-८६॥
tataḥ kālāntare'nyasmin punar loka-vivṛddhaye। bhaviṣyati punar daivam anukūlaṃ yadṛcchayā॥03-188-86॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; after that; कालान्तरे (kālāntare) - at another time; in course of time; अन्यस्मिन् (anyasmin) - in another (period); पुनः (punar) - again; लोकविवृद्धये (loka-vivṛddhaye) - for the increase of the world; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will happen; पुनः (punar) - again; दैवम् (daivam) - divine will; fate; अनुकूलम् (anukūlam) - favourable; यदृच्छया (yadṛcchayā) - by chance; spontaneously;]
(Then, in another period, again for the increase of the world, again the divine will, favourable, will happen by chance.)
Then, at another time, once more for the increase of the world, the divine will, favourable, will again occur by chance. (03-188-86)
यदा चन्द्रश्च सूर्यश्च तथा तिष्यबृहस्पती। एकराशौ समेष्यन्ति प्रपत्स्यति तदा कृतम् ॥०३-१८८-८७॥
yadā candraś ca sūryaś ca tathā tiṣya-bṛhaspatī। eka-rāśau sameṣyanti prapatsyati tadā kṛtam॥03-188-87॥
[यदा (yadā) - when; चन्द्रः (candraḥ) - the moon; च (ca) - and; सूर्यः (sūryaḥ) - the sun; च (ca) - and; तथा (tathā) - also; तिष्यबृहस्पती (tiṣya-bṛhaspatī) - Tiṣya (the star Pushya) and Bṛhaspati (Jupiter); एकराशौ (eka-rāśau) - in the same sign (of the zodiac); समेष्यन्ति (sameṣyanti) - will come together; प्रपत्स्यति (prapatsyati) - will reappear; तदा (tadā) - then; कृतम् (kṛtam) - the Kṛta (age);]
(When the moon and the sun and likewise Tiṣya and Bṛhaspati, in the same sign, will come together, then the Kṛta (age) will reappear.)
When the moon, the sun, Tiṣya (the star Pushya), and Bṛhaspati (Jupiter) all come together in the same zodiac sign, then the Kṛta age will begin. (03-188-87)
कालवर्षी च पर्जन्यो नक्षत्राणि शुभानि च। प्रदक्षिणा ग्रहाश्चापि भविष्यन्त्यनुलोमगाः ॥ क्षेमं सुभिक्षमारोग्यं भविष्यति निरामयम् ॥०३-१८८-८८॥
kālavarṣī ca parjanyo nakṣatrāṇi śubhāni ca. pradakṣiṇā grahāścāpi bhaviṣyantyanulomagāḥ ॥ kṣemaṃ subhikṣamarogyaṃ bhaviṣyati nirāmayam ॥03-188-88॥
[कालवर्षी (kālavarṣī) - timely-raining; च (ca) - and; पर्जन्यः (parjanyaḥ) - rain-cloud; नक्षत्राणि (nakṣatrāṇi) - stars; शुभानि (śubhāni) - auspicious; च (ca) - and; प्रदक्षिणाः (pradakṣiṇāḥ) - favorable; ग्रहाः (grahāḥ) - planets; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; भविष्यन्ति (bhaviṣyanti) - will be; अनुलोमगाः (anulomagāḥ) - moving in proper course; क्षेमम् (kṣemam) - well-being; सुभिक्षम् (subhikṣam) - abundant food; आरोग्यम् (ārogyam) - health; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will be; निरामयम् (nirāmayam) - free from disease;]
("Timely-raining and rain-cloud; stars auspicious and; favorable planets also will be moving in proper course; Well-being, abundant food, health, will be free from disease." (03-188-88))
"The rain will fall in proper season, and the rain-clouds; the stars will be auspicious, and the planets too will move in favorable courses. There will be well-being, abundant food, health, and freedom from disease." (03-188-88)
कल्किर्विष्णुयशा नाम द्विजः कालप्रचोदितः। उत्पत्स्यते महावीर्यो महाबुद्धिपराक्रमः ॥०३-१८८-८९॥
kalkirviṣṇuyaśā nāma dvijaḥ kālapracoditaḥ। utpatsyate mahāvīryo mahābuddhiparākramaḥ ॥03-188-89॥
[कल्किः (kalkiḥ) - Kalki; (proper noun, the name of the future incarnation); विष्णुयशा (viṣṇuyaśā) - Viṣṇuyaśā; (having glory/fame relating to Viṣṇu; patronymic); नाम (nāma) - named; of name; द्विजः (dvijaḥ) - twice-born; brāhmaṇa; कालप्रचोदितः (kālapracoditaḥ) - impelled by time; urged by (divine) time; उत्पत्स्यते (utpatsyate) - will arise; will be born; महावीर्यः (mahāvīryaḥ) - of great valor; महाबुद्धिपराक्रमः (mahābuddhiparākramaḥ) - of great intelligence and power; endowed with great intellect and might;]
(Kalki Viṣṇuyaśā named twice-born, impelled by time, will arise, of great valor, of great intelligence and power.)
The twice-born named Kalki, son of Viṣṇuyaśā, impelled by time, will arise endowed with great valor and great intelligence and might. (03-188-89)
सम्भूतः सम्भलग्रामे ब्राह्मणावसथे शुभे। मनसा तस्य सर्वाणि वाहनान्यायुधानि च ॥ उपस्थास्यन्ति योधाश्च शस्त्राणि कवचानि च ॥०३-१८८-९०॥
sambhūtaḥ sambhalagrāme brāhmaṇāvasathe śubhe. manasā tasya sarvāṇi vāhanānyāyudhāni ca ॥ upasthāsyanti yodhāśca śastrāṇi kavacāni ca ॥03-188-90॥
[सम्भूतः (sambhūtaḥ) - having been born; सम्भलग्रामे (sambhalagrāme) - in the village Sambhala; ब्राह्मणावसथे (brāhmaṇāvasathe) - in the residence of a Brāhmaṇa; शुभे (śubhe) - auspicious; मनसा (manasā) - by the mind; तस्य (tasya) - for him; सर्वाणि (sarvāṇi) - all; वाहनानि (vāhanāni) - vehicles; आयुधानि (āyudhāni) - weapons; च (ca) - and; उपस्थास्यन्ति (upasthāsyanti) - will attend; योधाः (yodhāḥ) - warriors; च (ca) - and; शस्त्राणि (śastrāṇi) - missiles; कवचानि (kavacāni) - armours; च (ca) - and;]
(Having been born in the auspicious Brāhmaṇa's residence in the village Sambhala, by the mind, for him, all vehicles and weapons, will attend, warriors and missiles and armours and.)
After being born in the auspicious Brāhmaṇa residence in the village of Sambhala, by thought alone, all vehicles, weapons, warriors, missiles, and armours will be present for him. (03-188-90)
स धर्मविजयी राजा चक्रवर्ती भविष्यति। स चेमं सङ्कुलं लोकं प्रसादमुपनेष्यति ॥०३-१८८-९१॥
sa dharmavijayī rājā cakravartī bhaviṣyati। sa ca imaṃ saṅkulaṃ lokaṃ prasādam upaneṣyati ॥03-188-91॥
[स (sa) - he; धर्मविजयी (dharmavijayī) - conqueror in righteousness; राजा (rājā) - king; चक्रवर्ती (cakravartī) - universal monarch; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will be; स (sa) - he; च (ca) - and; इमं (imaṃ) - this; सङ्कुलं (saṅkulam) - full of confusion; लोकं (lokaṃ) - world; प्रसादम् (prasādam) - clearness; उपनेष्यति (upaneṣyati) - will bring;]
(He, a conqueror in righteousness, the king, the universal monarch, will be. He also this full of confusion world clearness will bring.)
He will be a righteous conqueror, a king, a universal monarch. He will also bring clarity to this world full of confusion. (03-188-91)
उत्थितो ब्राह्मणो दीप्तः क्षयान्तकृदुदारधीः। स सङ्क्षेपो हि सर्वस्य युगस्य परिवर्तकः ॥०३-१८८-९२॥
utthito brāhmaṇo dīptaḥ kṣayāntakṛdudāradhīḥ. sa saṅkṣepo hi sarvasya yugasya parivartakaḥ ॥03-188-92॥
[उत्थितः (utthitaḥ) - risen; ब्राह्मणः (brāhmaṇaḥ) - Brāhmaṇa; दीप्तः (dīptaḥ) - shining; क्षयान्तकृत् (kṣayāntakṛt) - causing the end of destruction; उदारधीः (udāradhīḥ) - one of noble mind; सः (saḥ) - he; सङ्क्षेपः (saṅkṣepaḥ) - summary; हि (hi) - indeed; सर्वस्य (sarvasya) - of all; युगस्य (yugasya) - of the age; परिवर्तकः (parivartakaḥ) - transformer;]
(The risen Brāhmaṇa, shining, causing the end of destruction, of noble mind; he, indeed, is the summary, the transformer of the entire age.)
The risen and radiant Brāhmaṇa, noble in mind and ending all destruction, is truly the concise summary and the transformer of the whole age. (03-188-92)
स सर्वत्र गतान्क्षुद्रान्ब्राह्मणैः परिवारितः। उत्सादयिष्यति तदा सर्वान्म्लेच्छगणान्द्विजः ॥०३-१८८-९३॥
sa sarvatra gatān kṣudrān brāhmaṇaiḥ parivāritaḥ। utsādayiṣyati tadā sarvān mlecchagaṇān dvijaḥ॥03-188-93॥
[स (sa) - he; सर्वत्र (sarvatra) - everywhere; गतान् (gatān) - departed; gone; क्षुद्रान् (kṣudrān) - mean; base; low; ब्राह्मणैः (brāhmaṇaiḥ) - by the Brāhmaṇas; परिवारितः (parivāritaḥ) - surrounded; उत्सादयिष्यति (utsādayiṣyati) - will destroy; will remove; तदा (tadā) - then; सर्वान् (sarvān) - all; म्लेच्छगणान् (mlecchagaṇān) - groups of Mlecchas; द्विजः (dvijaḥ) - the twice-born (Brāhmaṇa);]
(He, everywhere gone mean ones, surrounded by Brāhmaṇas, will destroy then all groups of Mlecchas, the twice-born.)
That twice-born, surrounded by Brāhmaṇas, will then destroy all groups of Mlecchas and mean persons wherever they have gone. (03-188-93)
