विवस्वतो गच्छति पर्ययेण; वोढुं भवांस्तं रथमेकचक्रम्। आश्चर्यभूतं यदि तत्र किं चि; द्दृष्टं त्वया शंसितुमर्हसि त्वम् ॥१२-३५०-१॥
vivasvato gacchati paryayeṇa; voḍhuṃ bhavāṃstaṃ rathamekacakram. āścaryabhūtaṃ yadi tatra kiṃ ci; dṛṣṭaṃ tvayā śaṃsitumarhasi tvam ॥12-350-1॥
[विवस्वतो (vivasvataḥ) - of Vivasvat (the Sun); गच्छति (gacchati) - goes; moves; पर्ययेण (paryayeṇa) - by turn; in succession; वोढुं (voḍhum) - to bear; to carry; भवांस् (bhavāṃs) - you (respectful); तं (tam) - that; रथम् (ratham) - chariot; एकचक्रम् (ekacakram) - with one wheel; आश्चर्यभूतं (āścaryabhūtam) - wonderful; astonishing; यदि (yadi) - if; तत्र (tatra) - there; किं चि (kiṃ ci) - anything; द्दृष्टं (dṛṣṭam) - seen; त्वया (tvayā) - by you; शंसितुम् (śaṃsitum) - to declare; to tell; अर्हसि (arhasi) - you ought; you should; त्वम् (tvam) - you;]
(Of Vivasvat goes by turn; to bear you that chariot with one wheel. Wonderful if there anything seen by you, to declare you ought, you.)
The chariot of Vivasvat moves in turn; you are to bear that one-wheeled chariot. If you have seen anything wonderful there, you ought to tell it. (12-350-1)

यस्य रश्मिसहस्रेषु शाखास्विव विहङ्गमाः। वसन्त्याश्रित्य मुनयः संसिद्धा दैवतैः सह ॥१२-३५०-२॥
yasya raśmi-sahasreṣu śākhāsu iva vihaṅgamāḥ। vasanti āśritya munayaḥ saṃsiddhā daivataiḥ saha ॥12-350-2॥

यतो वायुर्विनिःसृत्य सूर्यरश्म्याश्रितो महान्। विजृम्भत्यम्बरे विप्र किमाश्चर्यतरं ततः ॥१२-३५०-३॥
yato vāyurviniḥsṛtya sūryaraśmyāśrito mahān। vijṛmbhatyambare vipra kimāścaryataraṃ tataḥ ॥12-350-3॥

शुक्रो नामासितः पादो यस्य वारिधरोऽम्बरे। तोयं सृजति वर्षासु किमाश्चर्यमतः परम् ॥१२-३५०-४॥
śukro nāmāsitaḥ pādo yasya vāridharo’mbare। toyaṃ sṛjati varṣāsu kimāścaryamataḥ param ॥12-350-4॥

योऽष्टमासांस्तु शुचिना किरणेनोज्झितं पयः। पर्यादत्ते पुनः काले किमाश्चर्यमतः परम् ॥१२-३५०-५॥
yo'ṣṭamāsāṃstu śucinā kiraṇenojjhitaṃ payaḥ। paryādatte punaḥ kāle kimāścaryamataḥ param ॥12-350-5॥

यस्य तेजोविशेषेषु नित्यमात्मा प्रतिष्ठितः। यतो बीजं मही चेयं धार्यते सचराचरम् ॥१२-३५०-६॥
yasya tejo-viśeṣeṣu nityam ātmā pratiṣṭhitaḥ। yato bījaṃ mahī ca iyaṃ dhāryate sa-carācaram ॥12-350-6॥
[यस्य (yasya) - of whom; तेजः (tejaḥ) - splendor; विशेषेषु (viśeṣeṣu) - in the distinctions; नित्यम् (nityam) - always; आत्मा (ātmā) - self; प्रतिष्ठितः (pratiṣṭhitaḥ) - established; यतः (yataḥ) - from whom; बीजम् (bījam) - seed; मही (mahī) - earth; च (ca) - and; इयम् (iyam) - this; धार्यते (dhāryate) - is supported; सचराचरम् (sa-carācaram) - with moving and unmoving;]

He, in whose various forms of splendor the self is ever established; from whom the seed and this earth, with all that moves and does not move, is sustained. (12-350-6)
यत्र देवो महाबाहुः शाश्वतः परमोऽक्षरः। अनादिनिधनो विप्र किमाश्चर्यमतः परम् ॥१२-३५०-७॥
yatra devo mahābāhuḥ śāśvataḥ paramo'kṣaraḥ। anādinidhano vipra kimāścaryamataḥ param ॥12-350-7॥

O brāhmaṇa, where the god who is great-armed, eternal, supreme, and imperishable, without beginning or end, exists—what wonder can be greater than this? (12-350-7)
आश्चर्याणामिवाश्चर्यमिदमेकं तु मे शृणु। विमले यन्मया दृष्टमम्बरे सूर्यसंश्रयात् ॥१२-३५०-८॥
āścaryāṇām ivāścaryam idam ekaṃ tu me śṛṇu। vimale yan mayā dṛṣṭam ambare sūryasaṃśrayāt ॥12-350-8॥
[आश्चर्याणाम् (āścaryāṇām) - of wonders; इव (iva) - like; आश्चर्यम् (āścaryam) - wonder; इदम् (idam) - this; एकम् (ekam) - one; तु (tu) - but; मे (me) - to me; शृणु (śṛṇu) - hear; विमले (vimale) - in the clear (sky); यत् (yat) - which; मया (mayā) - by me; दृष्टम् (dṛṣṭam) - seen; अम्बरे (ambare) - in the sky; सूर्यसंश्रयात् (sūryasaṃśrayāt) - from the support of the sun;]

पुरा मध्याह्नसमये लोकांस्तपति भास्करे। प्रत्यादित्यप्रतीकाशः सर्वतः प्रत्यदृश्यत ॥१२-३५०-९॥
purā madhyāhnasamaye lokāṁstapati bhāskare। pratyādityapratīkāśaḥ sarvataḥ pratyadṛśyata ॥12-350-9॥
[पुरा (purā) - formerly; in ancient times; मध्याह्नसमये (madhyāhnasamaye) - at midday time; लोकान् (lokān) - worlds; beings; तपति (tapati) - he burns; heats; भास्करे (bhāskare) - in the sun; प्रत्यादित्यप्रतीकाशः (pratyādityapratīkāśaḥ) - having the appearance of a counter-sun; resembling another sun; सर्वतः (sarvataḥ) - on all sides; everywhere; प्रत्यदृश्यत (pratyadṛśyata) - was seen; appeared;]
(Formerly, at midday time, the sun burns the worlds; having the appearance of a counter-sun, on all sides, was seen.)
Long ago, at midday, as the sun scorched the worlds, a figure resembling a second sun was seen everywhere. (12-350-9)
स लोकांस्तेजसा सर्वान्स्वभासा निर्विभासयन्। आदित्याभिमुखोऽभ्येति गगनं पाटयन्निव ॥१२-३५०-१०॥
sa lokāṁs tejasā sarvān svabhāsā nirvibhāsayan। ādityābhimukho'bhyeti gaganaṁ pāṭayann iva ॥12-350-10॥

(He, illuminating all the worlds completely by brilliance and by his own light, facing the sun, approaches the sky as if splitting (it).)

हुताहुतिरिव ज्योतिर्व्याप्य तेजोमरीचिभिः। अनिर्देश्येन रूपेण द्वितीय इव भास्करः ॥१२-३५०-११॥
hutāhutiriva jyotirvyāpya tejomarīcibhiḥ। anirdeśyena rūpeṇa dvitīya iva bhāskaraḥ ॥12-350-11॥
[हुताहुतिः (hutāhutiḥ) - offering into the fire; इव (iva) - like; ज्योतिः (jyotiḥ) - light; व्याप्य (vyāpya) - pervading; तेजोमरीचिभिः (tejomarīcibhiḥ) - by rays of brilliance; अनिर्देश्येन (anirdeśyena) - indescribable; रूपेण (rūpeṇa) - by form; द्वितीयः (dvitīyaḥ) - second; इव (iva) - like; भास्करः (bhāskaraḥ) - sun;]

tasyābhigamanaprāptau hasto datto vivasvatā। tenāpi dakṣiṇo hasto dattaḥ pratyarcanārthinā ॥12-350-12॥

ततो भित्त्वैव गगनं प्रविष्टो रविमण्डलम्। एकीभूतं च तत्तेजः क्षणेनादित्यतां गतम् ॥१२-३५०-१३॥
tato bhittvaiva gaganaṃ praviṣṭo ravimaṇḍalam। ekībhūtaṃ ca tattejaḥ kṣaṇenādityatāṃ gatam ॥12-350-13॥
