अहमप्येवमेवैतच्चिन्तयामि यथा युवाम्। विवेक्तुं नाहमिच्छामि त्वाकारं विदुरं प्रति ॥१-१९३-१॥
aham apy evam evaitac cintayāmi yathā yuvām। vivektuṃ nāham icchāmi tv ākāraṃ viduraṃ prati ॥1-193-1॥
[अहम् (aham) - I; अपि (api) - also; एवम् (evam) - thus; एव (eva) - indeed; एतत् (etat) - this; चिन्तयामि (cintayāmi) - think; यथा (yathā) - as; युवाम् (yuvām) - you two; विवेक्तुम् (vivektum) - to distinguish; न (na) - not; अहम् (aham) - I; इच्छामि (icchāmi) - wish; त्व (tv) - your; आकारम् (ākāram) - form; विदुरम् (viduram) - Vidura; प्रति (prati) - towards;]
(I also thus indeed this think as you two. To distinguish not I wish your form Vidura towards.)
I too think exactly as you both do. I do not wish to distinguish your form from Vidura's.
अतस्तेषां गुणानेव कीर्तयामि विशेषतः। नावबुध्येत विदुरो ममाभिप्रायमिङ्गितैः ॥१-१९३-२॥
atasteṣāṃ guṇāneva kīrtayāmi viśeṣataḥ। nāvabudhyeta viduro mamābhiprāyamiṅgitaiḥ ॥1-193-2॥
[अतः (ataḥ) - therefore; तेषाम् (teṣām) - of them; गुणान् (guṇān) - qualities; एव (eva) - only; कीर्तयामि (kīrtayāmi) - I recount; विशेषतः (viśeṣataḥ) - especially; न (na) - not; अवबुध्येत (avabudhyeta) - would understand; विदुरः (viduraḥ) - Vidura; मम (mama) - my; अभिप्रायम् (abhiprāyam) - intention; इङ्गितैः (iṅgitaiḥ) - by gestures;]
(Therefore, of them, only the qualities I recount especially. Not would understand Vidura my intention by gestures.)

यच्च त्वं मन्यसे प्राप्तं तद्ब्रूहि त्वं सुयोधन। राधेय मन्यसे त्वं च यत्प्राप्तं तद्ब्रवीहि मे ॥१-१९३-३॥

(And which you think has been obtained, that tell, you, Suyodhana. Rādheya, and which you think has been obtained, that tell to me.)
Whatever you think has been obtained, tell that, Suyodhana. Rādheya, whatever you think has been obtained, you also tell that to me.

[अद्य (adya) - today; तान् (tān) - them; कुशलैः (kuśalaiḥ) - by the skilled; विप्रैः (vipraiḥ) - by the Brāhmaṇas; सुकृतैः (sukṛtaiḥ) - by the virtuous; आप्तकारिभिः (āptakāribhiḥ) - by those who accomplish what is entrusted; कुन्तीपुत्रान् (kuntīputrān) - the sons of Kuntī; भेदयामः (bhedayāmaḥ) - let us divide; माद्रीपुत्रौ (mādrīputrau) - the two sons of Mādrī; च (ca) - and; पाण्डवौ (pāṇḍavau) - the Pāṇḍavas;]
(Today, them by the skilled Brāhmaṇas, by the virtuous, by those who accomplish what is entrusted, the sons of Kuntī let us divide, the two sons of Mādrī and the Pāṇḍavas.)
Today, let us, with the help of skilled and virtuous Brāhmaṇas who accomplish entrusted tasks, divide the sons of Kuntī and also the two sons of Mādrī, the Pāṇḍavas.
अथ वा द्रुपदो राजा महद्भिर्वित्तसञ्चयैः। पुत्राश्चास्य प्रलोभ्यन्ताममात्याश्चैव सर्वशः ॥१-१९३-५॥

परित्यजध्वं राजानं कुन्तीपुत्रं युधिष्ठिरम्। अथ तत्रैव वा तेषां निवासं रोचयन्तु ते ॥१-१९३-६॥

Alternatively, let some clever men, skilled in strategy, try to sow discord among the Pāṇḍavas by winning their trust and affection.
व्युत्थापयन्तु वा कृष्णां बहुत्वात्सुकरं हि तत्। अथवा पाण्डवांस्तस्यां भेदयन्तु ततश्च ताम् ॥१-१९३-९॥
vyutthāpayantu vā kṛṣṇāṃ bahutvātsukaraṃ hi tat। athavā pāṇḍavāṃstasyāṃ bhedayantu tataśca tām ॥1-193-9॥
[व्युत्थापयन्तु (vyutthāpayantu) - let them rouse; (from vyut-thā-pa, causative of 'to rise up') वा (vā) - or; कृष्णां (kṛṣṇām) - Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī); बहुत्वात् (bahutvāt) - because of multitude; सुकर्म् (sukaram) - easy; हि (hi) - indeed; तत् (tat) - that; अथवा (athavā) - or else; पाण्डवान् (pāṇḍavān) - the Pāṇḍavas; तस्याम् (tasyām) - in her; भेदयन्तु (bhedayantu) - let them cause division; ततः (tataḥ) - then; च (ca) - and; ताम् (tām) - her;]
(Let them rouse Kṛṣṇā, or, because of the multitude, that is indeed easy. Or else, let them cause division among the Pāṇḍavas in her, and then her.)
Let them awaken Kṛṣṇā, for that is easy due to the multitude. Or else, let them create division among the Pāṇḍavas concerning her, and then her.
भीमसेनस्य वा राजन्नुपायकुशलैर्नरैः। मृत्युर्विधीयतां छन्नैः स हि तेषां बलाधिकः ॥१-१९३-१०॥
bhīmasenasya vā rājannupāyakushalairnaraiḥ। mṛtyurvidhīyatāṃ channaiḥ sa hi teṣāṃ balādhikaḥ ॥1-193-10॥
[भीमसेनस्य (bhīmasenasya) - of Bhīmasena; वा (vā) - or; राजन् (rājan) - O king; उपाय (upāya) - means; कुशलैः (kuśalaiḥ) - by skillful; नरैः (naraiḥ) - by men; मृत्युः (mṛtyuḥ) - death; विधीयताम् (vidhīyatām) - should be arranged; छन्नैः (channaiḥ) - by hidden (ones); सः (saḥ) - he; हि (hi) - indeed; तेषाम् (teṣām) - of them; बलाधिकः (balādhikaḥ) - superior in strength;]
(Of Bhīmasena or, O king, by skillful men means death should be arranged by hidden (ones); he indeed of them superior in strength.)
O king, let the death of Bhīmasena be arranged by skillful men using secret means, for he is indeed stronger than them.
तस्मिंस्तु निहते राजन्हतोत्साहा हतौजसः। यतिष्यन्ते न राज्याय स हि तेषां व्यपाश्रयः ॥१-१९३-११॥
tasmiṃstu nihate rājan hatotsāhā hataujasaḥ। yatiṣyante na rājyāya sa hi teṣāṃ vyapāśrayaḥ॥1-193-11॥
[तस्मिन् (tasmin) - in him; तु (tu) - but; निहते (nihate) - having been slain; राजन् (rājan) - O king; हतोत्साहाः (hatotsāhāḥ) - with enthusiasm destroyed; हतौजसः (hataujasaḥ) - with strength destroyed; यतिष्यन्ते (yatiṣyante) - will not strive; न (na) - not; राज्याय (rājyāya) - for the kingdom; सः (saḥ) - he; हि (hi) - indeed; तेषाम् (teṣām) - of them; व्यपाश्रयः (vyapāśrayaḥ) - support, refuge;]
(But in him having been slain, O king, with enthusiasm destroyed, with strength destroyed, they will not strive for the kingdom, for he indeed is their support.)
O king, when he is slain, their enthusiasm and strength are destroyed; they will not strive for the kingdom, for he is truly their support.
अजेयो ह्यर्जुनः सङ्ख्ये पृष्ठगोपे वृकोदरे। तमृते फल्गुनो युद्धे राधेयस्य न पादभाक् ॥१-१९३-१२॥
ajeyo hy arjunaḥ saṅkhye pṛṣṭhagope vṛkodare. tamṛte phalguno yuddhe rādheyasya na pādabhāk ॥1-193-12॥
[अजेयः (ajeyaḥ) - invincible; हि (hi) - indeed; अर्जुनः (arjunaḥ) - Arjuna; सङ्ख्ये (saṅkhye) - in battle; पृष्ठगोपे (pṛṣṭhagope) - with protector at the back; वृकोदरे (vṛkodare) - Vṛkodara (Bhīma); तम् (tam) - him; ऋते (ṛte) - except; फल्गुनः (phalgunaḥ) - Phalguna (Arjuna); युद्धे (yuddhe) - in battle; राधेयस्य (rādheyasya) - of Rādheya (Karna); न (na) - not; पादभाक् (pādabhāk) - sharer (of victory);]
(Invincible indeed is Arjuna in battle, with Vṛkodara protecting his back. Except for him, Phalguna (Arjuna) in battle is not a sharer of Rādheya's (Karna's) victory.)
Arjuna is truly invincible in battle when protected at the rear by Vṛkodara (Bhīma). Except for him, Phalguna (Arjuna) in battle cannot share in Karna's (Rādheya's) victory.
ते जानमाना दौर्बल्यं भीमसेनमृते महत्। अस्मान्बलवतो ज्ञात्वा नशिष्यन्त्यबलीयसः ॥१-१९३-१३॥
te jānamānā daurbalyaṃ bhīmasenamṛte mahat। asmānbalavato jñātvā naśiṣyantyabalīyasaḥ ॥1-193-13॥
[ते (te) - they; जानमाना (jānamānā) - knowing; दौर्बल्यं (daurbalyaṃ) - weakness; भीमसेनमृते (bhīmasenamṛte) - except Bhīmasena; महत् (mahat) - great; अस्मान् (asmān) - us; बलवतः (balavataḥ) - of the strong; ज्ञात्वा (jñātvā) - having known; नशिष्यन्ति (naśiṣyanti) - will not remain; अबलीयसः (abalīyasaḥ) - the weaker ones;]
(They, knowing the weakness (that) except Bhīmasena (there is no) great (strength) among us, having known (us as) the strong, the weaker ones will not remain.)
They, realizing that except for Bhīmasena there is no great strength among us, and knowing us to be strong, the weaker ones will not survive.
इहागतेषु पार्थेषु निदेशवशवर्तिषु। प्रवर्तिष्यामहे राजन्यथाश्रद्धं निबर्हणे ॥१-१९३-१४॥
ihāgateṣu pārtheṣu nideśavaśavartiṣu। pravartiṣyāmahe rājanyathāśraddhaṃ nibarhaṇe ॥1-193-14॥
[इह (iha) - here; आगतेषु (āgateṣu) - having arrived; पार्थेषु (pārtheṣu) - among the sons of Pṛthā; निदेश (nideśa) - command; वश (vaśa) - under the control; वर्तिषु (vartiṣu) - those who act; प्रवर्तिष्यामहे (pravartiṣyāmahe) - we shall proceed; राजन् (rājan) - O king; यथा (yathā) - as; श्रद्धम् (śraddham) - faith; निबर्हणे (nibarhaṇe) - in the act of removal;]
(Here, with the sons of Pṛthā having arrived, those acting under command, we shall proceed, O king, as is our faith, in the act of removal.)
O king, now that the sons of Pṛthā have arrived and those acting under command are present, we shall proceed with the removal as we see fit, according to our faith.
अथवा दर्शनीयाभिः प्रमदाभिर्विलोभ्यताम्। एकैकस्तत्र कौन्तेयस्ततः कृष्णा विरज्यताम् ॥१-१९३-१५॥
athavā darśanīyābhiḥ pramadābhir vilobhyatām। ekaikas tatra kaunteyas tataḥ kṛṣṇā virajyatām॥1-193-15॥

(Or, let him be enticed by women who are to be seen. There, let each son of Kunti then be separated from Kṛṣṇā.)

प्रेष्यतां वापि राधेयस्तेषामागमनाय वै। ते लोप्त्रहारैः सन्धाय वध्यन्तामाप्तकारिभिः ॥१-१९३-१६॥

[प्रेष्यताम् (preṣyatām) - let be sent; (from pra-√iṣ, to send) वा (vā) - or; अपि (api) - also; राधेयः (rādheyaḥ) - Karna (son of Radha); तेषाम् (teṣām) - of them; आगमनाय (āgamanāya) - for the coming; (ā-gamana, arrival) वै (vai) - indeed; ते (te) - they; लोप्त्रहारैः (loptrahāraiḥ) - with spade-bearers; (loptra, spade + hāra, bearer) सन्धाय (sandhāya) - having joined; (sam-√dhā, to join, prepare) वध्यन्ताम् (vadhyantām) - let them be killed; (passive of √han, to kill) आप्तकारिभिः (āptakāribhiḥ) - by those who accomplish tasks; (āpta, accomplished + kārin, doer);]
(Let Karna also be sent for their coming indeed. Let them, having joined with spade-bearers, be killed by those who accomplish tasks.)

(Of these means, which is considered faultless for you, undertake its application before time passes by.)
Of all these means, you should undertake the application of that one which is considered faultless for you, before time passes by.
यावच्चाकृतविश्वासा द्रुपदे पार्थिवर्षभे। तावदेवाद्य ते शक्या न शक्यास्तु ततः परम् ॥१-१९३-१८॥
yāvaccākṛtaviśvāsā drupade pārthivarṣabhe। tāvadevādy te śakyā na śakyāstu tataḥ param ॥1-193-18॥
[यावत् (yāvat) - as long as; च (ca) - and; अकृतविश्वासा (akṛtaviśvāsā) - not having made trust; द्रुपदे (drupade) - in Drupada; पार्थिवर्षभे (pārthivarṣabhe) - in the bull among kings; तावत् (tāvat) - so long; एव (eva) - indeed; आद्य (ādya) - today; ते (te) - to you; शक्याः (śakyāḥ) - possible; न (na) - not; शक्याः (śakyāḥ) - possible; तु (tu) - but; ततः (tataḥ) - after that; परम् (param) - beyond;]
(As long as trust has not been made in Drupada, the bull among kings, so long today it is possible for you; not possible, however, after that.)

(This my thought, O dear one, for restraint proceeds. Good or if not good, what, O Rādheya, you think.)
O Karna, this is my intention for restraint. Whether it is good or not, what do you think, O son of Radha?
