भीष्मः शान्तनवो विद्वान्द्रोणश्च भगवानृषिः। हितं परमकं वाक्यं त्वं च सत्यं ब्रवीषि माम् ॥१-१९८-१॥
bhīṣmaḥ śāntanavo vidvān droṇaś ca bhagavān ṛṣiḥ। hitaṃ paramakaṃ vākyaṃ tvaṃ ca satyaṃ bravīṣi mām ॥1-198-1॥

यथैव पाण्डोस्ते वीराः कुन्तीपुत्रा महारथाः। तथैव धर्मतः सर्वे मम पुत्रा न संशयः ॥१-१९८-२॥
yathaiva pāṇḍoste vīrāḥ kuntīputrā mahārathāḥ। tathaiva dharmataḥ sarve mama putrā na saṃśayaḥ ॥1-198-2॥

(Just as indeed those sons of Kuntī, the heroes, the great chariot-warriors, are of Pāṇḍu, so indeed by righteousness all my sons (are the same); there is no doubt.)
Just as those sons of Kuntī, the mighty warriors, are truly the sons of Pāṇḍu, so too, by righteousness, all my sons are the same; there is no doubt about this.
यथैव मम पुत्राणामिदं राज्यं विधीयते। तथैव पाण्डुपुत्राणामिदं राज्यं न संशयः ॥१-१९८-३॥
yathaiva mama putrāṇām idaṃ rājyaṃ vidhīyate। tathaiva pāṇḍuputrāṇām idaṃ rājyaṃ na saṃśayaḥ ॥1-198-3॥

क्षत्तरानय गच्छैतान्सह मात्रा सुसत्कृतान्। तया च देवरूपिण्या कृष्णया सह भारत ॥१-१९८-४॥
kṣattarānaya gacchaitān saha mātrā susatkṛtān। tayā ca devarūpiṇyā kṛṣṇayā saha bhārata ॥1-198-4॥

दिष्ट्या वर्धामहे सर्वे दिष्ट्या शान्तः पुरोचनः। दिष्ट्या मम परं दुःखमपनीतं महाद्युते ॥१-१९८-६॥
diṣṭyā vardhāmahe sarve diṣṭyā śāntaḥ purocanaḥ। diṣṭyā mama paraṃ duḥkham apanītaṃ mahādyute ॥1-198-6॥

तत्र गत्वा स धर्मज्ञः सर्वशास्त्रविशारदः। द्रुपदं न्यायतो राजन्संयुक्तमुपतस्थिवान् ॥१-१९८-८॥
tatra gatvā sa dharmajñaḥ sarvaśāstraviśāradaḥ। drupadaṃ nyāyato rājansaṃyuktamupatastivān ॥1-198-8॥

स चापि प्रतिजग्राह धर्मेण विदुरं ततः। चक्रतुश्च यथान्यायं कुशलप्रश्नसंविदम् ॥१-१९८-९॥

(Having known this, but your honour should send forth the Pāṇḍavas. Indeed, the Kurus greatly hasten to see the sons of Pāṇḍu.)
Having understood this, your honour should send the Pāṇḍavas, for the Kurus are eagerly hastening to see the sons of Pāṇḍu.
विप्रोषिता दीर्घकालमिमे चापि नरर्षभाः। उत्सुका नगरं द्रष्टुं भविष्यन्ति पृथा तथा ॥१-१९८-२२॥

(Having been separated for a long time, these bulls among men also will be eager to see the city; so will Kuntī.)
These noble men, having been separated for a long time, will be eager to see the city; so too will Kuntī.
कृष्णामपि च पाञ्चालीं सर्वाः कुरुवरस्त्रियः। द्रष्टुकामाः प्रतीक्षन्ते पुरं च विषयं च नः ॥१-१९८-२३॥

(Kṛṣṇā also and Pāñcālī, all women of the best of Kurus, desiring to see, are waiting for the city and the territory of ours.)
All the noble Kuru women, eager to see Kṛṣṇā and Pāñcālī, are waiting for our city and land.
स भवान्पाण्डुपुत्राणामाज्ञापयतु माचिरम्। गमनं सहदाराणामेतदागमनं मम ॥१-१९८-२४॥
sa bhavān pāṇḍu-putrāṇām ājñāpayatu mā ciram। gamanaṃ saha-dārāṇām etad-āgamanaṃ mama ॥1-198-24॥
