ततस्तैः संविदं कृत्वा यथावन्मधुसूदनः। आरुरुक्षू रथं सत्यामाह्वयामास केशवः ॥०३-२२४-२॥
tatastaiḥ saṁvidaṁ kṛtvā yathāvan madhusūdanaḥ। ārurukṣū rathaṁ satyām āhvayām āsa keśavaḥ ॥03-224-2॥

(Then with them, having made counsel properly, Madhusūdana, wishing to mount the chariot, in the presence of Satyā, Keśava called for (it).)
Then, together with them, after properly taking counsel, Madhusūdana (Keśava, Kṛṣṇa), wishing to mount the chariot, summoned it in the presence of Satyā. (03-224-2)
सत्यभामा ततस्तत्र स्वजित्वा द्रुपदात्मजाम्। उवाच वचनं हृद्यं यथाभावसमाहितम् ॥०३-२२४-३॥
satyabhāmā tatastatra svajitvā drupadātmajām। uvāca vacanaṁ hṛdyaṁ yathābhāvasamāhitam॥03-224-3॥

कृष्णे मा भूत्तवोत्कण्ठा मा व्यथा मा प्रजागरः। भर्तृभिर्देवसङ्काशैर्जितां प्राप्स्यसि मेदिनीम् ॥०३-२२४-४॥
kṛṣṇe mā bhūt tava utkaṇṭhā mā vyathā mā prajāgaraḥ। bhartṛbhiḥ deva-saṅkāśaiḥ jitām prāpsyasi medinīm॥03-224-4॥
[कृष्णे (kṛṣṇe) - O Kṛṣṇā; (addressing Draupadī); मा (mā) - do not; (prohibitive particle); भूत् (bhūt) - be; (imperative, let it be); तव (tava) - your; (of you); उत्कण्ठा (utkaṇṭhā) - longing; anxious desire; मा (mā) - do not; (prohibitive particle); व्यथा (vyathā) - distress; pain; मा (mā) - do not; (prohibitive particle); प्रजागरः (prajāgaraḥ) - sleeplessness; wakefulness; भर्तृभिः (bhartṛbhiḥ) - by your husbands; (instrumental plural of bhartṛ, lord/husband); देवसङ्काशैः (deva-saṅkāśaiḥ) - who are like gods; (by those of godlike appearance); जिताम् (jitām) - (already) conquered; subdued; प्राप्स्यसि (prāpsyasi) - you will obtain; you will acquire; मेदिनीम् (medinīm) - the earth; world;]
(O Kṛṣṇā, let not longing be yours, do not distress, do not sleeplessness. By husbands who are of godlike appearance, (the) conquered earth you will obtain.)
O Kṛṣṇā, do not let longing, distress, or sleeplessness be yours. You will regain the conquered earth through your husbands, who are like gods. (03-224-4)
न ह्येवं शीलसम्पन्ना नैवं पूजितलक्षणाः। प्राप्नुवन्ति चिरं क्लेशं यथा त्वमसितेक्षणे ॥०३-२२४-५॥
na hy evaṁ śīlasampannā naivaṁ pūjitalakṣaṇāḥ। prāpnuvanti ciraṁ kleśaṁ yathā tvam asitekṣaṇe ॥03-224-5॥
[न (na) - not; हि (hi) - indeed; एवं (evaṁ) - thus; शीलसम्पन्नाः (śīlasampannāḥ) - endowed with virtue; न (na) - not; एवं (evaṁ) - thus; पूजितलक्षणाः (pūjitalakṣaṇāḥ) - having the characteristics of being honored; प्राप्नुवन्ति (prāpnuvanti) - attain; चिरं (ciraṁ) - long (time); क्लेशं (kleśaṁ) - suffering; यथा (yathā) - as; त्वम् (tvam) - you; असितेक्षणे (asitekṣaṇe) - O dark-eyed one;]
(Not indeed thus those endowed with virtue, not thus having the characteristics of being honored, attain long suffering as you, O dark-eyed one.)
Truly, those endowed with virtue and marked by honor do not experience prolonged suffering as you do, O dark-eyed one. (03-224-5)
अवश्यं च त्वया भूमिरियं निहतकण्टका। भर्तृभिः सह भोक्तव्या निर्द्वंद्वेति श्रुतं मया ॥०३-२२४-६॥
avaśyaṃ ca tvayā bhūmir iyaṃ nihatakaṇṭakā। bhartṛbhiḥ saha bhoktavyā nirdvandveti śrutaṃ mayā ॥03-224-6॥
[अवश्यं (avaśyam) - certainly; without fail; च (ca) - and; त्वया (tvayā) - by you; भूमिरियं (bhūmir iyaṃ) - this earth; निहतकण्टका (nihatakaṇṭakā) - with thorns removed; भर्तृभिः (bhartṛbhiḥ) - with husbands; सह (saha) - together with; भोक्तव्या (bhoktavyā) - to be enjoyed; to be possessed; निर्द्वंद्वेति (nirdvandva iti) - free from afflictions — thus; श्रुतं (śrutam) - it is heard; मया (mayā) - by me;]
(Certainly and by you this earth with thorns removed is to be enjoyed together with husbands, free from afflictions—thus it is heard by me.)
I have heard that indeed, this earth, once its thorns are removed, is to be enjoyed by you along with your husbands, free from afflictions. (03-224-6)
धार्तराष्ट्रवधं कृत्वा वैराणि प्रतियात्य च। युधिष्ठिरस्थां पृथिवीं द्रष्टासि द्रुपदात्मजे ॥०३-२२४-७॥
dhārtarāṣṭra-vadhaṃ kṛtvā vairāṇi pratiyātya ca। yudhiṣṭhira-sthāṃ pṛthivīṃ draṣṭāsi drupadātmaje ॥03-224-7॥
[धार्तराष्ट्रवधं (dhārtarāṣṭra-vadham) - the slaying of the sons of Dhritarashtra; कृत्वा (kṛtvā) - having performed; वैराणि (vairāṇi) - enmities; प्रतियात्य (pratiyātya) - having destroyed; च (ca) - and; युधिष्ठिरस्थां (yudhiṣṭhira-sthām) - abiding in Yudhishthira; पृथिवीं (pṛthivīm) - the earth; द्रष्टासि (draṣṭāsi) - you will see; द्रुपदात्मजे (drupadātmaje) - O son of Drupada;]
(Having performed the slaying of the sons of Dhritarashtra and having destroyed enmities, you will see the earth abiding in Yudhishthira, O son of Drupada.)
After slaying the sons of Dhritarashtra and ending enmities, you will see the earth under Yudhishthira's rule, O son of Drupada. (03-224-7)
यास्ताः प्रव्राजमानां त्वां प्राहसन्दर्पमोहिताः। ताः क्षिप्रं हतसङ्कल्पा द्रक्ष्यसि त्वं कुरुस्त्रियः ॥०३-२२४-८॥
yāstāḥ pravrājamānāṃ tvāṃ prāhasandarpamohitāḥ। tāḥ kṣipraṃ hatasaṅkalpā drakṣyasi tvaṃ kurustrayaḥ॥03-224-8॥
[याः (yāḥ) - who; (feminine plural nominative); ताः (tāḥ) - those; (feminine plural nominative); प्रव्राजमानां (pravrājamānām) - departing; (accusative plural feminine); त्वाम् (tvām) - you; (accusative singular); प्राह (prāha) - (they) said; सन्दर्पमोहिताः (sandarpamohitāḥ) - deluded by pride; (feminine plural nominative); ताः (tāḥ) - those; (feminine plural nominative); क्षिप्रम् (kṣipram) - soon; quickly; हतसङ्कल्पाः (hatasaṅkalpāḥ) - with destroyed resolve; (feminine plural nominative); द्रक्ष्यसि (drakṣyasi) - you will see; त्वम् (tvam) - you; (nominative singular); कुरुस्त्रियः (kurustrayaḥ) - the women of the Kuru family; (feminine plural nominative);]
(Who, those departing you, said—deluded by pride—those, soon, with resolve destroyed, you will see, you, the women of the Kurus.)
The Kuru women who, deluded by pride, spoke to you as you were departing—very soon, you yourself will see those same women, their courage broken. (03-224-8)
तव दुःखोपपन्नाया यैराचरितमप्रियम्। विद्धि सम्प्रस्थितान्सर्वांस्तान्कृष्णे यमसादनम् ॥०३-२२४-९॥
tava duḥkhopapannāyā yair ācaritam apriyam। viddhi samprasthitān sarvān tān kṛṣṇe yamasādanam॥03-224-9॥
[तव (tava) - of you; दुःखोपपन्नाया (duḥkhopapannāyā) - having encountered sorrow; यैः (yais) - by whom; आचरितम् (ācaritam) - has been done; अप्रियं (apriyam) - unpleasant; विद्धि (viddhi) - know; सम्प्रस्थितान् (samprasthitān) - departed; सर्वान् (sarvān) - all; तान् (tān) - those; कृष्णे (kṛṣṇe) - O Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī); यमसादनम् (yamasādanam) - to the abode of Yama;]
(Of you, having encountered sorrow, by whom unpleasant (deed) has been done; know (them) all, those, O Kṛṣṇā, (to be) departed to the abode of Yama.)
O Kṛṣṇā, know that all those by whom unpleasant things were done to you, who have encountered sorrow, have departed to the abode of Yama. (03-224-9)
पुत्रस्ते प्रतिविन्ध्यश्च सुतसोमस्तथा विभुः। श्रुतकर्मार्जुनिश्चैव शतानीकश्च नाकुलिः ॥ सहदेवाच्च यो जातः श्रुतसेनस्तवात्मजः ॥०३-२२४-१०॥
putras te prativindhyaś ca sutasomas tathā vibhuḥ। śrutakarmārjuniś caiva śatānīkaś ca nākuliḥ॥ sahadevāccayo jātaḥ śrutasenas tavātmajaḥ॥03-224-10॥
[पुत्रः (putraḥ) - son; ते (te) - your; प्रतिविन्ध्यः (prativindhyaḥ) - Prativindhya (proper name); च (ca) - and; सुतसोमः (sutasomaḥ) - Sutasoma (proper name); तथा (tathā) - also; विभुः (vibhuḥ) - Vibhu (proper name); श्रुतकर्मा (śrutakarmā) - Śrutakarman (proper name); अर्जुनिः (arjuniḥ) - son of Arjuna; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; शतानीकः (śatānīkaḥ) - Śatānīka (proper name); च (ca) - and; नाकुलिः (nākuliḥ) - son of Nakula; सहदेवात् (sahadevāt) - from Sahadeva; च (ca) - and; यः (yaḥ) - who; जातः (jātaḥ) - was born; श्रुतसेनः (śrutasenaḥ) - Śrutasena (proper name); तव (tava) - your; आत्मजः (ātmajaḥ) - son;]
(Your son is Prativindhya and Sutasoma also Vibhu. Śrutakarman Arjuni and indeed Śatānīka and son of Nakula; and from Sahadeva, who was born, Śrutasena, your son. (03-224-10))
Your sons are Prativindhya, Sutasoma, Vibhu, Śrutakarman, Śatānīka—son of Nakula—and from Sahadeva was born Śrutasena, your son. (03-224-10)
सर्वे कुशलिनो वीराः कृतास्त्राश्च सुतास्तव। अभिमन्युरिव प्रीता द्वारवत्यां रता भृशम् ॥०३-२२४-११॥
sarve kuśalino vīrāḥ kṛtāstrāś ca sutās tava। abhimanyur iva prītā dvāravatyāṃ ratā bhṛśam॥03-224-11॥
[सर्वे (sarve) - all; कुशलिनः (kuśalinaḥ) - safe; वीराः (vīrāḥ) - heroes; कृतास्त्राः (kṛtāstrāḥ) - trained in arms; च (ca) - and; सुताः (sutāḥ) - sons; तव (tava) - your; अभिमन्युः (abhimanyuḥ) - Abhimanyu; इव (iva) - like; प्रीतः (prītaḥ) - pleased; द्वारवत्याम् (dvāravatyām) - at Dvāravatī; रताः (ratāḥ) - engaged; भृशम् (bhṛśam) - greatly;]
(All safe heroes, trained in arms and your sons, like Abhimanyu, pleased, at Dvāravatī, greatly engaged.)
All your sons, the heroes skilled in arms, are safe; like Abhimanyu, they are greatly pleased and occupied at Dvāravatī. (03-224-11)
त्वमिवैषां सुभद्रा च प्रीत्या सर्वात्मना स्थिता। प्रीयते भावनिर्द्वंद्वा तेभ्यश्च विगतज्वरा ॥०३-२२४-१२॥
tvam ivaiṣāṃ subhadrā ca prītyā sarvātmanā sthitā। prīyate bhāvanirdvandvā tebhyaś ca vigatajvarā ॥03-224-12॥
[त्वम् (tvam) - you; इव (iva) - just like; एषाम् (eṣām) - of these; सुभद्रा (subhadrā) - Subhadra; च (ca) - and; प्रीत्या (prītyā) - with love; सर्वात्मना (sarvātmanā) - with all (your) soul; स्थिताः (sthitā) - are established; प्रीयते (prīyate) - is pleased; भाव-निर्द्वंद्वा (bhāva-nirdvandvā) - devoid of duality in disposition; तेभ्यः (tebhyaḥ) - from them; च (ca) - and; विगत-ज्वरा (vigata-jvarā) - free from affliction;]
(You just like these, Subhadra also, with love, with all (your) soul, are established. Pleased, devoid of duality in disposition, from them and (you are) free from affliction.)
You, just like these, and Subhadra too, are established in love with all your soul. Free from all affliction and beyond duality of feeling, you are dear to them. (03-224-12)
भेजे सर्वात्मना चैव प्रद्युम्नजननी तथा। भानुप्रभृतिभिश्चैनान्विशिनष्टि च केशवः ॥०३-२२४-१३॥
bheje sarvātmanā caiva pradyumnajananī tathā। bhānuprabhṛtibhiś cainān viśinaṣṭi ca keśavaḥ ॥03-224-13॥
[भेजे (bheje) - (he) sent; सर्वात्मना (sarvātmanā) - with all (his) being; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; प्रद्युम्नजननी (pradyumnajananī) - Pradyumna's mother; तथा (tathā) - as well; भानुप्रभृतिभिः (bhānuprabhṛtibhiḥ) - with Bhānu and others; च (ca) - and; एनान् (enān) - them; विशिनष्टि (viśinaṣṭi) - (he) assigns; च (ca) - and; केशवः (keśavaḥ) - Keśava (Krishna);]
(He sent with all (his) being indeed Pradyumna's mother as well; with Bhānu and others and them Keśava assigns and.)
Keśava (Krishna) sent with his full intent Pradyumna's mother as well as Bhānu and others, and further assigned them. (03-224-13)
भोजनाच्छादने चैषां नित्यं मे श्वशुरः स्थितः। रामप्रभृतयः सर्वे भजन्त्यन्धकवृष्णयः ॥ तुल्यो हि प्रणयस्तेषां प्रद्युम्नस्य च भामिनि ॥०३-२२४-१४॥
bhojanācchādane caiṣāṃ nityaṃ me śvaśuraḥ sthitaḥ। rāmaprabhṛtayaḥ sarve bhajantyandhakavṛṣṇayaḥ॥ tulyo hi praṇayasteṣāṃ pradyumnasya ca bhāmini॥03-224-14॥
[भोजन-आच्छादने (bhojana-ācchādane) - in food and clothing; च (ca) - and; एषाम् (eṣām) - for these; नित्यम् (nityam) - always; मे (me) - my; श्वशुरः (śvaśuraḥ) - father-in-law; स्थितः (sthitaḥ) - has been established; राम-प्रभृतयः (rāma-prabhṛtayaḥ) - Rāma and the others; सर्वे (sarve) - all; भजन्ति (bhajanti) - honor, attend; अन्धक-वृष्णयः (andhaka-vṛṣṇayaḥ) - the Andhakas and Vṛṣṇis; तुल्यः (tulyaḥ) - equal; हि (hi) - indeed; प्रणयः (praṇayaḥ) - affection; तेषाम् (teṣām) - of them; प्रद्युम्नस्य (pradyumnasya) - of Pradyumna; च (ca) - and; भामिनि (bhāmini) - O beautiful lady;]
(In food and clothing, always my father-in-law has been established for these; Rāma and the rest, all the Andhakas and Vṛṣṇis, honor; equal indeed affection of them and of Pradyumna, O beautiful lady (03-224-14))
My father-in-law has always provided food and clothing for these; Rāma and the others—all the Andhakas and Vṛṣṇis—show him respect; their affection for him is equal to that for Pradyumna, O beautiful lady. (03-224-14)
एवमादि प्रियं प्रीत्या हृद्यमुक्त्वा मनोनुगम्। गमनाय मनश्चक्रे वासुदेवरथं प्रति ॥०३-२२४-१५॥
evamādi priyaṃ prītyā hṛdyam uktvā manonugam। gamanāya manaś cakre vāsudeva-rathaṃ prati॥03-224-15॥
[एवमादि (evam-ādi) - thus and so; such words; प्रियं (priyam) - dear; pleasing; प्रीत्या (prītyā) - with affection; हृद्यम् (hṛdyam) - heartfelt; touching; उक्त्वा (uktvā) - having spoken; मनोनुगम् (mano-anugam) - agreeable to the mind; what followed the mind; गमनाय (gamanāya) - for going; for departure; मनः (manaḥ) - the mind; चक्रे (cakre) - made; resolved; वासुदेवरथम् (vāsudeva-ratham) - Vasudeva's chariot; प्रति (prati) - towards;]
(Thus and so, having spoken dear, affectionate, heartfelt words, agreeable to the mind, for going the mind resolved towards Vasudeva's chariot.)
Having spoken such dear, affectionate, and heartfelt words as the mind prompted, he resolved to depart towards Vasudeva's chariot. (03-224-15)
तां कृष्णां कृष्णमहिषी चकाराभिप्रदक्षिणम्। आरुरोह रथं शौरेः सत्यभामा च भामिनी ॥०३-२२४-१६॥
tāṃ kṛṣṇāṃ kṛṣṇama hiṣī cakārābhipradakṣiṇam। āruroha rathaṃ śaureḥ satyabhāmā ca bhāminī ॥03-224-16॥
[तां (tāṃ) - her; कृष्णां (kṛṣṇāṃ) - dark-complexioned (feminine); कृष्णमहिषी (kṛṣṇama hiṣī) - Krishna's queen; चकार (cakāra) - did; made; अभिप्रदक्षिणम् (abhipradakṣiṇam) - circumambulation; (act of moving clockwise around); आरुरोह (āruroha) - ascended; mounted; रथं (rathaṃ) - chariot; शौरेः (śaureḥ) - of Śauri (Krishna); सत्यभामा (satyabhāmā) - Satyabhama; च (ca) - and; भामिनी (bhāminī) - the splendid (lady);]
(Her, the dark-complexioned Krishna's queen did circumambulation. Ascended the chariot of Śauri, Satyabhama and the splendid lady.)
Krishna's dark-complexioned queen performed circumambulation of her. Then Satyabhama, the splendid lady, ascended the chariot of Krishna. (03-224-16)
स्मयित्वा तु यदुश्रेष्ठो द्रौपदीं परिसान्त्व्य च। उपावर्त्य ततः शीघ्रैर्हयैः प्रायात्परन्तपः ॥०३-२२४-१७॥
smayitvā tu yaduśreṣṭho draupadīṁ parisāntvya ca| upāvartya tataḥ śīghrairhayaiḥ prāyātparantapaḥ ॥03-224-17॥
[स्मयित्वा (smayitvā) - having smiled; तु (tu) - but; यदुश्रेष्ठः (yaduśreṣṭhaḥ) - the best among the Yadus; द्रौपदीम् (draupadīm) - Draupadī; परिसान्त्व्य (parisāntvya) - having fully comforted; च (ca) - and; उपावर्त्य (upāvartya) - having turned (the chariot); ततः (tataḥ) - then; शीघ्रैः (śīghraiḥ) - with swift; हयैः (hayaiḥ) - horses; प्रायात् (prāyāt) - departed; परन्तपः (parantapaḥ) - subduer of enemies;]
(Having smiled but the best among the Yadus, having fully comforted Draupadī, and having turned (back), then with swift horses, the subduer of enemies departed.)
After smiling, the foremost of the Yadus, having fully comforted Draupadī, turned the chariot and then departed swiftly with his horses, the subduer of enemies. (03-224-17)
